Hi everyone, I'm interested in how you think things are working out with the new Elevation map. Also, I will be looking into Tosiek spells today. Zing!

I read this thread from start to finish. At the beginning, Clwebb was frustrated, and it came out in how he spoke. Towards the end, Clwebb seems to have warmed up a bit, perhaps seeing the community support in the open love it was offered. Don't give up Clwebb/eastcoastt. Wurm is what you make it. It is joyful, full of peace and relaxation. It is fear and sorrow, loss and frustration. It is danger, combat, escape, and evasion. It is clawing at you, and may punish you any moment your attention wanders from the treeline behind you. It is there, even as you log out, alive on its own, growing, and changing. It is ready for you if you are ready for it. Wurm is a survival sandbox with a wonderful community, and the freedom to build and play as you wish. Xanadu is 81 million game tiles. Even with 1300 active players owning deeds, it is still a full square kilometer of land per player. Most deeds will use less than 5% of the terrain in each kilometer of land. Xanadu may appear built up, but it is in fact...empty, provided you look. Can you find that place, yes, but only if you listen.

Due to cynical placement of wardeeds both legitimate and one placed by use of a bug with converting within opposing influence this would be a useful mechanic to introduce to the chaos server. Appropriate compensation would have to be given to deed owners in the area but it would make it far more difficult for any single kingdom to restrict access to the hota zone and go some way to reintroduce a semblance of competition at the event.

So we finally got new map dumps! Thank you, devs - I really appreciate them and I'm happy and grateful to be able to see the islands of Wurm as they appear today. Awesome! However: Those "maps" are not really maps at all. As last time, they are "pseudo-3D" isometric images! I admit: they look terrific, but - to be honest - they are not really useful for any mapping purposes. The isometric pseudo-3D presentation makes the exact placement of locations and landmarks very difficult, if not impossible, to determine, especially in mountain regions. Here is an example: Dragontooth Peak in the southeast of Deliverance. ..... See what I mean? If we want to draw a "real" map (like the one on the right side) the map dump (left side) is of no great use! So, here is my request: Please give us 2D map dumps! (These should actually be a lot easier to produce, because they would only plot the x- and y-coordinates of each tile, without the need of performing any time-consuming 3D-calculations!)

If the devs make a vote you just need to get the epic trolls to port over and vote like chaos did for the ele map, should work out well.

I received this message tonight and was asked to please post this from the fellow player that you have all come together to help. To the Wurm community at large, there is always some drama and/or a few bag eggs. However you really came threw for me, not even knowing who I am in game. I'd like to thank those people, Pashka included for your encouragement to have me post or offering to post for me. Some of you wished to remain anonymous so you know who you are. I would like to thank those who took the time to read what the campaign was about whether you could or wanted to donated, I understand in this day and age it's hard to take people at face value and the internet can only make it harder. I told my Mom last night what the Wurm community did for us, she had no clue this was being done. She was flabbergasted but in a good way I assure you and this has offered both of us some relief. I think you might like to know that my campaign was fully funded (100%) by Wurm Players to the best of my knowledge. We gripe and complain but when it matters there really is incredible people in this game. A heartfelt thanks really doesn't cover it but it's all I have. My friends will no longer be asking the community for further donations, but this post will be linked, I hope as many as possible see my thanks and are warmed by the generous spirit of the Players here. For those confused, I am referring to this http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/121477-please-help-a-fellow-wurmian/ ~Sincerely, A Very Grateful Wurmian. To the Forum Mod's, I'd kindly ask this remain in Town Square so as many as possible can see my things. This didn't start as one but it finished as a community effort.

Wurm Online is an extremely deep game with a lot of opportunity and possibility. It is what you make of it. Wurm Online is clearly not for everyone. It is for people who love a challenge. It is for those who want to feel accomplishment in their cyberworld activities. I am sorry you are having such a difficult time starting out in Wurm Online Clwebb, You have only spent a few hours in Wurm outside of the tutorial system, so it is good that you at least find out now if you can enjoy what Wurm Online offers or not. I find lots of available locations on all servers for settlement, though it can be tough getting started as you will be playing with neighbors all the time. Sometimes people just need to think bigger, to realize the potential of a location. Even the terrain of Wurm Online is part of the challenge that makes it so enjoyable. There are people that would be willing to purchase your avatar from you if you feel you have wasted your money. Whatever your decision, good luck to you.

Voted no. It's the best map of all Wurm. Reset just because one kingdom has an advantage presently? That's silly. Wild/Chaos is so misunderstood by players that have hardly/never been there. There is not a single "unbeatable titan" and every warrior added to a side can make a difference, every single one. It's more of a numbers-tactics-strategy KvK not about single titans. On Wild we had one of our "unbeatable titans" fully geared cut down by 5-8 non-premium brand new (under 20FS) accounts with no armour. There are no unbeatable accounts, if you played on Wild/Chaos for any reasonable time you'd know that. Will one titan account beat a weak account? Yes almost every time. Titan vs 2x medium 70FS well played accounts? It's even, anything can happen (RNG). Titan vs 3x medium 70FS well played accounts? The titan will likely lose. There are no Godlike characters as it pertains Wild PvP, nobody is unbeatable, it's a myth. Wild (I'm sticking to Wild because I still think Chaos is inaccurate in all ways), is Wurms 'end-game'. Once you realize that you're digging for no good reason on Freedom except decoration, come to Wild and do it with reason/purpose and adrenalin... because as 'bad' as the mechanics of PvP in Wurm are, if you don't get an adrenalin rush in Wurm PvP when it's all out, you're dead inside. Here's a secret: Get 25-30 'dedicated consistent' players of 70FS that play aggressively and together, and you'll get 20% of the map too. No need to reset the map. It's beautiful, and no Kingdom has won, not even when MR was beaten back to the Gold Coast years ago.

I am willing to take you as a passenger in my cart; I will drive us 20-30 minutes into the wilderness and drop you off. I can build you a locked 1x1 fence where you can be safe from monsters, and a large crate so that you can store your materials as you build your deed. I will provide you with cheese and bread for your crate so that you can eat without having to cook. I am near Glasshollow on Xanadu, and I would be happy to help.

Since we now have aquatic creatures that solely eat fish, not being able to store fish long term at all is dumb. Let us put fish in a FSB. That's all. Thanks.

This was possible years ago - only for a momentum though. It was removed because people were able to push / pull each other into walls etc. I doubt it'll be re-added, since it was quite abusive. People were being pushed into walls in pvp for example. Even on PvE - you could probably find someone pushing a player who is afk down a cliff etc etc.

This is really just going around in circles now... You guys have given up every single possible option as well as even picking him up and driving him to a location and he hasn't taken that either... There really is nothing left.... At this point I think it's just trolling =\ So many nice people have tried to help you here Clwebb, even tried to keep you from quitting, this happens quite a lot in wurm, the people will try to create options for you.... Do you really want to continue to complain that your money was wasted when the community has been nothing more than helpful?

It really should just come down to what's best for the game. Polls like these will never work with the majority voting for what's best for themselves.

You can't be serious. 99% of chaos players would only write something like this as a troll. That other 1% are probably just weekend-warriors or just insane. And I damn sure hope that freedomers/epicers won't be deciding about multiple-years-of-hard-work-server-reset just cause someone may think that a new map would be "awesome". Instead, XxXForgottenXxX, try building a deed and when you complete it after 6-36 months you'll see what "awesome" means. EDIT: also, reseting chaos would reset all of it's history, all the fallen and uprising kingdoms, all the tales of building magnificent deeds and conquering lands. This is not just a build and destroy map. This is where you do your best to engrave your name on pages of history books!

There are no dirt walls that were made by bugs/exploits/GMs. Also that's kinda a serious accusation claiming random GMs have made dirtwalls that were against the rules.

Lots of people have tried to help. If you posted and said : " Hey look, I am new, can anyone suggest how to find a nice REMOTE location where I can be a SOLO HERMIT," people probably would have sent you maps or even helped you get to the spots. Instead, you look in the most crowded areas and say "this is ###### its all too crowded. this is a complete waste of time." Seriously, can you even HEAR yourself? Go inland. The inland lakes are NOT all built up. Or go down a highway, once you are away from houses (takes maybe 5 minutes) take a 90 degree turn and run into the deep forest for 10 minutes. You'll find an area with no one for miles and no one else is likely to go there (most people stay on the coastline or the main roads). Do you WANT to find a good solo hermit place? There are tons. You need to start with a good attitude or it will all go to muck super fast. PS: Just be aware solo hermit is fun but not easy if you know NOTHING about the game. It's better to stay close to a starter spawn or find someplace that will let you stay there long enough to build skills, get some experience, and make some starter tools. Train for 2-3 weeks minimum. Then build yourself a large cart, load it up with tools, and head into the deep deep mountains. Otherwise you will be back here tomorrow saying "this is crap, I found a great place then a bear killed me and now I am lost and starving and have no tools and lost all my silver. This is a stupid game."

The current server crossing message is "If you keep going in this direction you will end up on another island." It should be "If you keep going in this direction you will end up on <server name>." This would help prevent confusion when sailing near corners and it'd keep people from accidentally crossing to the wrong island.

["Holy wurmlogic Batman!"] We need the /facepalm emote added to wurm.... because it wouldn't be wurmlogic without it! Bonus points: If you add this sound emote with it: >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJYZp6ZLwm8 Everyone: Post your /facepalm pics below! We need to give the Art devs some encouragement!

You mean like this? From another thread: Versus a southern perspective: With the topography still being able to be detected in both pictures, it's apparent the "top-down" maps show more of the world. Both map dumps are of the same map, one is a direct overhead view while the other is angled from the south. I agree, the overhead mapdump is much more helpful. Either way, I think we're all very grateful for a mapdump in any form, but an overhead perspective maps would be much more helpful for mapping purposes.

Just a note regarding the "Note" in the OP: This individual has a personal grievance with our kingdom one week and applies to join us the next, over and over. We do not appreciate being targeted on the forums and singled out, whether or not our members wished to use this individuals services. But posting defamatory notes is acceptable on these forums as per a conversation I had with the lead forum moderator, so I have posted this to defend our kingdoms reputation.

you guys could push and take the land if you really wanted too, look at how we are disbanding your deeds and taking your land...

There is TONS AND TONS of open land in Wurm. The devs are just going to think you are crazy if you ague there is no place left to build. We are all starting to think you are maybe a little delusional. Quit while you are ahead. Quit while you are still sane. Unless you really are a troll. The game has sooo much open space that it is crazy. There is more open land now then there was since I started in 2011, because of all the servers spreading out people so much. I have about 5 places and NONE of them are anywhere near anyone and there are still so many places where you can be a recluse and have ZERO neighbors. You are creating compints that are not even valid. You need a cool off activity. Unless trolling is really what you are after. Maybe it is.

100% of skill gain increase on Independence because it`s older than Xanadu. Or 40% on Xanadu but increase the cost of maintaining premium toons twice as on other servers or allow to trade them at max 50% of the regular price.

Extreme Disruptive Behavior Wurm Online has a very dynamic social environment that adds an extra layer of challenge beyond the mechanics of the game, and in very rare instances we encounter individuals that no matter what rules are in effect, and no matter what actions we take as Game Masters, their extreme disruptive behavior and or anti-social behavior comes to a point where that individual or even a group can quite literally ruin the Wurm Online experience for the vast majority of other members who are otherwise enjoying what Wurm Online has to offer. As a reminder, in these very rare instances where someone or some group are disrupting the game in a manner not in keeping with the intention of Wurm Online, we reserve the right to remove these individuals when it becomes apparent to us that no amount of rules or mediation will solve the problem/s being created by these individuals. You are responsible for being aware of the Wurm Online Game Agreement with Code Club AB. You are also responsible for being aware of the rules which can always be found in GM Hall. You are also responsible for the behavior committed on any avatars connected to you and you can lose those avatars permanently if someone uses them in a manner that we deem to be extremely disruptive and not intended. Thankfully, these instances have been very rare, as most of our members here in Wurm Online have been very enjoyable to work with and play along side. We look forward to all the good times that we have with you and we will continue to do our utmost to minimize extremely disruptive behavior. Thank You, Wurm Online Team

Waterdeep Castle is complete! "for now" (We plan to modify some of the windows to the newer wall types eventually and will most likely add bridges between the main towers when released. Design was a collaborative effort between both the wife (Awngeleak) and me. However, most of the actual construction was her. A special thanks to: Warlander for allowing us to visualize the design through the use of Deedplanner. Monover for all the help with bricks and clay. Rolf and company for their vision and continued development of Wurm Online. Coastal view. Coastal view in front of Candlekeep (Our sister deed) Candlekeep (South side) ground view from the canal Candlekeep view from the grape orchard overlooking the community workshops And lastly, same as last just a little higher up Additional images and designs can be found here.

We use a similar solution as Normadikhan's just with more BSBs packed together - and turned by 45 degrees for easier selection being this crowded. Needs a bit of pushing/pulling to position them to be reachable from the groundfloor but works fine. This is the main workshop and all can be reached without moving so all materials are accessible without any interruption at the forges
  46. 2 points
+1. Fine tuning the position of item is really a nightmere, push, pull, push again, pull.. nooo, push.... please, add the possibility to move freely an object in a small radius, binding it for example to the mouse. You right click on an object, select "Position" or something like that, the object sticks to mouse so you can position it and rotate it (with or without snapping) as you like, then left click to finalize action. I think it should be easy to code, a small work for a huge improvement in functionality.
  47. 2 points
How about something like this: When you stay on tile, you can click on any object near > "set position" and GUI window with grid and button "accept" appears. You can select any not taken place on grid and then accept - this triggers one minute action after which the object is moved to the correct place.

I have have times when one animal was tamed and one was not (or went untamed), they fought, then they were separated. No one noticed both animals were injured and slowly dying of injuries. So is there any chance one of the animals either fought the other (a tamed mom gives birth to a wild baby, or is bred to an untamed male, then they are kater separated and neither one tamed). Or someone had a pet logged out in the same pen, logged back in, no one expected a tamed and untamed animal would be together, they might not have even been anywhere in the area when they logged in and their pet appeared in a pen. A similar thing can happen if someone does not understand to NEVER EVER EVER wear weapons while taming, they tried to tame them and the animal aggroed by chance (as can happened), they autodefended without meaning to and badly injured them, the animals later slowly died from their wounds. If someone "absolutely adored the cats" this could have happened with no malice and they only wanted to learn to tame animals and pet the pretty kitties. If they did not know better, they might get confused and not be 100 percent honest if confronted, since they "meant" no harm. They might even have zero idea they ever hurt the animal because they think they backed out of the pen the second it aggroed, and the animals were still alive last they saw them. I see this happening a lot with newer players killing their horses while trying to tame them. Especially if they have fairly nice weapons. Wildcats are pretty fragile and one single auto defend would be a wound that slowly got worse. Otherwise I have no idea. Tracking including boats/animals/people passing several tiles away and does not mean the croc was ever involved.

Seriously, I cannot believe anyone actually searched on Xanadu for a week and said there was no open land. I assumed at first they had kept trying the old small servers (Celebration, Pristine, etc) -- I know those have small populations now and I do not know how much open land is filled with old villages. I have not been on those servers though I assumed they too had open areas now, from old places decaying away. but ... Xanadu??? I would guess 80 percent of that server is still original untouched land. Be aware, land in Wurm does not com preflattened, with roads already built and little mailboxes and guard towers and iron mines all ready for you to move in. If you do not yet have enough skill to dig in most terrain, take 15 minutes to practice digging on some fairly flat area (dig a pile of dirt, drop it. Dig it up, drop it. Repeat about 20 times and you will have close to 10 digging which allows you to dig in 30 Slope areas (you can dig on terrain 3X the slope of your skill.) With 10 digging, if you can walk on it, you can flatten it. Digging clay is another great way to raise the skill plus collect a useful resource. You can even make money digging clay and delivering it to people who are too lazy to dig it themselves. There IS NO NATURALLY FLAT LAND IN WURM. You have to cut the trees. Flatten the land. Build a road. Dig a mine. Build a guard tower. That is how every other deed in this game was started. If you not interested in doing all that, you can even ask if anyone will sell you a prepared flattened piece of land, for silver. You can probably even buy a plot with a prebuilt mine and a prebuilt guardtower, and a road right to a major highway. It will cost you though since someone else did the bulk of the actual work. Most of us find it more fun to do it all ourselves (or even better with friends). This is why we are here. Because we like to build things. PS: Welcome to Wurm, I do hope you realize your expectations may not have been in sync with what this game actually is, and that you continue with it. It is very possible someone will help you find a spot, the server has more open land than settled land, by far. The map dump linked should help you find places where no one else is settled:
