    Hello Fellow Wurmians! This week I will simply list the full set of currently confirmed features so you know exactly what to look and plan for with the coming Update on 18th of February. I have taken some time to clarify some of the updates for your convenience. Wagons Ship Carrier Crafting Interface Crates Great for bulk transportation. Drag and Drop Functionality to drag items straight from piles to cart, cart to piles or pile to pile without the need for it going to inventory first. Amount moved per action is in relation to how much you are already carrying vs maximum carrying capacity. Load Function The ability to load many items previously unmovable(as in picked up) onto carts through a simple command. Reinforced Cave Floors For those instances when rock floors just does not feel secure enough. Notifications Help System Tutorial and help messages that are triggered by certain situations and conditions. The information will also be available on demand from a library called "Book of Wisdom". Village Recruitment Board Joining or inviting fellow players through a map interface accessible from a recruitment board model which can be crafted or accessed from the starter deeds. After joining a settlement you will be able to teleport to that deed at once but one time only. Invite Command You will be able to directly invite a player to your village by using /vinvite command specified with player name. It will work no matter where on the server the player is. The player will receive a message and can teleport at once to the village. This will work one time only per village and can not be used if you have teleported to the same village through the Village Recruitment Board. The same limitation is true for the Recruitment Board. World and Island Maps with notations The annotations work like this: You have some for personal use, some are shared and available for people of the same village. Also, some are shared over the entire alliance. Placing them is as easy as clicking your map, but you have a set amount and restrictions to who can place them on village and alliance level. Status effect bar Shows you the current active buffs and debuffs affecting your character, complete with a set of new icons. New Emotes Follow, lead, goodbye, this way, not that way.     There's still a lot more work to do on bridges before they're functional and ready for release. The tests shown were only for the creation part of bridges. No time has been decided yet. Rugs will use the leatherworking skill. Reinforced floors can be removed with 21 body strength, strongwall cast, or a shaker orb. It's mainly a protection against newbies mining the floor. You can only create them with support beams. The dye system is scheduled for some changes, dyeable armour won't be until after that. Crates are basically bulk bins with an item limit on them, so they do not have a weight limit. The small crate can have 150 items, the large one 300 items. Crates can be loaded while full, while regular containers and bulk bins cannot.

    The problem with your post is that it's not turn style combat. Everything is on timers and skill, enchants, weapon type, etc affect the timers themselves. Combat is real time, you aren't clicking a button for Attack, Defend, Item, or Run as you would in Final Fantasy II.

    Try playing Mount and Blade at 200-300 ping. Not saying I don't like the idea of real-time combat, but it's pretty impractical without regional servers, which you probably won't be seeing any time soon. And if you lose several hours' worth of work due to latency, well...

    yeah the point of reinforcing floors its not to prevent people from mining into the mine but for preventing people from mining down to water.very usefull on public mines and for villages that recruit new players.

    Teleporting to a random arena just for a random pvp fight isnt something i can see happening. Unless players want to be steamrolled some sort of match-making system would have to be created and implemented (and likely cause lag) I believe at least once a year there is a big fighting tournament on freedom where you sign up and are given a set of gear and matched with similarly skilled contestants and the winners recieve nice prizes. -- It is a community event set up by players, which is what makes wurm unique. No need for automatic alien abduction poof fight alien abduction poof home system. I have to give a -1 because as a player You can build an arena and host local pvp yourself.

    Having just planted a magical chest, I'd like some actual clarification on what these technical issues are with loading them. I'd also like to know if it's a permanent NO on loading them or if it's just temporary. I paid good money for them, and vanity as it may be, I'd like to load them.

    I think the intention is more just aimed towards at the creation of a battle arena, no loot on death, no drama that comes along with the pvp servers and without having to have dual invitations with everyone in the area. It's an interesting idea, just not sure how it could be implemented

    Relax, nobody asked you guys to secure the WL both the times. My kingdom only had deeds nearby WL at permitted distances and it has never made works like those, in order to keep opened the area. (Remember the past summer, when we left the area opened at the enemy and we managed to pvp together. That's how it should work, but if you make the light all yours, you're trying to inhibit the enemy). Please look at us, our history. And don't complain if your 3 months works has been compromised, have been made too risky jobs and i'm sure you knew it. If I may say my opinion: The WL should be an opened area where you cannot: modify the ground, rock, build house or walls. Everyone must have the opportunity to reach it for priesting or champing, especially FI newbies. Also, where did the gods war go? WLers shouldn't be allowed to bash their own light and the same for BLers. I think this game was initially conceived in this manner.

    Can you consider lowering the limit to create pmks back to the 15-20 range. 40 is the active population of elevation.

    Suggestion to add a larger version forge that takes 3 or 4 times the materials of a forge to make. It should also be graphically much larger than a forge to give forges a use in decorating homes. Make it medium->hard to start to build (30-40 skill?). Allow it to smelt 50 to 100 ore at the same time. Preferably more than less. (this is the BIG point in this). Please. -------- UPDATE: To outline what I've gotten out of the suggested improvements stated in this thread, - The smelter takes 30 to 40 skill to start and continue. - Serious amount of materials to build, up to 5 or 10 times the regular forge just to not make them mass produced. - 100 ores fit in it. - One per tile. - Graphically large. - Burns a lot of wood quickly. Some suggest up to a full 100 kg tree to fuel it completely. - Smelting time quality dependent, just as forges. Faster the higher the quality is.

    Wurm combat looks dull. You can improve combat without it requiring high latency. As a development team, I think that combat should be a priority. This post shows how the terribad combat system causes new players to turn away. There are plenty of games out there that have a better PvP experiance. No wonder the PvP population is so much smaller than the PvE population in Wurm! Also, I'm seeing a universal outcry on the Epic servers about the Valrei events. Perhaps that should be high up there on your to-do list.

    It is time, Rolf. We have made preparations and everyone wants Elevation to be f2p. You know who we are, we will recruit more people soon as elevation becomes f2p. It is an untouched land we would like to build the most glorious blacklighter deed ever on, just one thing is missing: Your love. Kiss us, Rolf, kiss us with freetoplay. B-but free2play alts will be griefing all over! We already have that with prem alts, see dadamage and random jk alts swimming at the ele-jk border to check their local, but that's just from a bler perspective Also you can easily revert any griefing done by f2p alts by reinforcing cave tiles, catapulting or whatever. Anyway f2p alts can't even destroy things. DO IT ROLF DO IT FOR BL DO IT FOR ELEVATIOn DO IT FOR YOUR WALLET WE WILL RECRUIT I PROMISE

    Ideally yes, but I think when suggesting things to do for Wurm Online, it's best to go one small step at a time. That way there's a tiny possibility they might be implemented. Most of the other PMK suggestions were not really taken seriously. Hence why PMK's are dying.

    You can spar and duel on freedom afaik. Heck i did it in Golden valley once, and that was as restricted as you get.

    I like Tarkie's idea.... it allows players like me to experiment with PvP, learn how to PvP, learn how not to panic (yes Players panic in PvP, many have won because of this). I do not PvP and this idea does not threaten me at all. +1 Tarkie, a battle arena for Freedom servers. No loot drop, I can live with the standard skill loss so that can stay the same. ---------------------------- Now... for those PvPers that will say they hate my support of this and tell me nasty things... There is NO WAY IN HELL that I will EVER go to a PvP server in Wurm when so many Players there got their high skills due to exploits or times when Rolf "winked" at greater than normal skill gain and let you guys keep it. ...especially as a green horn noob to Wurm PvP. No way in hell. Not ever. I bet I am not alone in that point of view either. Maybe that's one more reason why Wurm hasn't grown in population... and maybe why Wurm PvP population hasn't grown as much as Rolf and Playrs would like... Try this experiment: Go to the forums of any of the other MMOs, even EVE Online, and ask Players what they think of free for all open loot PvP...some with say they love it and support it, but many will tell you they are not interested. Many do not like free for all PvP and would rather eat dirty socks for dinner than even try it out. I am not saying Wurm should change Chaos or Epic servers or the PvP system.... keep them as they are, Rolf and Staff, and the Players themselves have worked too hard to try and get it working best as possible... however.... it would not "kill PvP in Wurm" as some seem to think if one of the Freedom servers has a no loot PvP battlegrounds arena. You say you are convinced that Wurm PvP is better than the other MMOs? Then at least put a "worm" on that PvP hook to entice them new fish to bite so to speak. Try it on on of the Freedom servers and see how it goes, test the waters, assuming the Devs can figure out how to do it.... after Bridges of course, this is on list already. If it becomes the "destruction of PvP issue some think it will be then shut it down. Time spent, resources spent yes, but no harm done. Players expect Devs to try out new things, at least I do. An idea tried if nothing else... ....and if it doesn't hurt Chaos and Epic PvP maybe it will be a stepping stone for Players that don't currently PvP to try it and see if they like it, perhaps get good enough at it that maybe... just maybe... they will then risk going to Chaos or Epic and facing the PvP demigods that hate this idea. That would result in positive growth for PvP in Wurm overall. This idea is not something that could be done soon, but would it hurt to put it on the roster of future changes to be looked into?

    You can equip the items with right-clicking, or by dragging them onto the paper doll. If you really want them to be there, despite the fact that you obviously don't use the body to heal wounds (since one cannot right-click the body parts on it. You're describing the paper doll functionality) then make it a toggle in the start-up client. Your game won't have to change a single bit because of this. If you don't want to use the paper doll you have to expand the body parts. Where does he state that he doesn't use the expanded body parts to heal? I never use the paper doll. I always expand my body parts to heal up, and the new slots are in the way.

    Travelling with a pre-assembled catapult or a finished one in cargo, nothing really changed regarding using a catapult except now you'll be able to travel with a finished catapult instead of having one pre-assembled in the hold.

    Orly......thats not a lot of mobs btw. Also as soon as they do get connected you'll have 40-50 other yahoos coming and that group you see there or anywhere else wont be around for long. Not to mention...deeding and breeding/hoarding...etc..will reduce clustered areas as well. That area looks like no one has deeded it yet for trader bait just wait it'll happen just like the other servers.

    Did he cheat or otherwise use a method against the game rules to acquire it? If so then shut up and report to staff, if not then shut up anyway, you can't just say "this person is a known thief". Known to whom, and why? (MR internal drama not being evidence)

    Been having this one and two other 'animation' ideas on my mind for awhile. Today when I took a walk I got in my mind that I should draw them to storyboard. So here is one of them. If anyone want to adapt this to an animation/story/whatever-art-thing for wurm online, feel free to do so, as I won't have the time (and prolly also the skill) to make nice-looking animation of this. Also, song that plays when I imagine this scenario being played on stage in a wurmcon. Fallen Kingdom by captain sparklez.

    I hope they make the requirement reasonable again. If the alliance system is exploitable they should just disable it until a suitable system if any is worked out. Devs, You are holding back the game by keeping one of the coolest features away from the playerbase.

    Hi Jdog43211, welcome to the forums. Few things that is going to help you find what you need. We need to know where you are. Take a look at the map here: http://minersahoy.com/Wurm%20Maps/Recent%20Map.png and try find out where you are. Put up some co-ordinates about where you are and where you want to build. Also, try speaking to your neighbours and see if there is any space near you that would be good for a deed, making friends in local is the single best thing you can do. Making enemies early on because you built in the "wrong" spot isn't what you want. If you're new to the game, I highly recommend that you join a village and learn some of the basics, there are tons of starter villages about with people who love nothing more than helping new players into the game. I wish you the best of luck in Wurm, you're going to need it as we all did. Stick with it, the later game is much better than the early game. :-)
