Combination order, source, and fragment quality do not influence rune allocation. Fragments retain their data and can't be put in a bsb for this reason. There are no longer hidden gotchas to ruin or buff your rune chances.

Yes hello? Are we casting runes?? 🧙‍♀️ As an adjacent rune reading, I'll add the wagon for the Apocalypse Order PMK: The side of the wagon reads: "Welcome to a new beginning" The back of the wagon reads: "Money talks" And the crates inside the wagon read: "AO" And yes - I absolutely love discovering these small details!

When combining a basic metal item the chance of iron is now improved at higher levels. When combining an alloy metal item the chance of steel is now improved at higher levels Yes, I agree this is a positive step - except for statue fragments, for which I think the reverse should be true - we should have greater chance of statue frags in 'interesting' metals such as gold, silver, bronze and electrum. For statues, there is already a disappointing tendency towards iron and steel. My arch is 100, my restoration is 99 - and I'd like to see more variation in the metal types for statues please. Remember that the person (recipient/buyer) combining the statue is rarely the person finding the fragment (finder/seller) and often has lower skill - yet still expects an interesting metal type.

At high level they are quite farmable at very high ql. At a rate of multiple per hour. Production methods are also abusable but closing that vulnerability is detrimental to the skill for casual players. That would be 3 moon metal vectors in one skill which is already absolutely crazy compared to any other skill. Combined with the new rune upgrades this skill is probably above the reward rate of anything else short of channeling. We will discuss token changes internally but considerable rewards have been added to archeology in this patch.

Ver 0.2 (Thanks to Roarkindrake for proofreading and everyone in this thread for feedback) Ver 0.3 (Added in a section on gods, and tweaked the earning section) Ver 0.4 (Added section suggesting roles for free players) Ver 0.41 (Added Haliah's point about settling near a spawn deed) Ver 0.5 (Added a section on pets (since donkey/cow/mule/sheep are all good options), adjusted some notes on account deletion, added an extra way to make cash (treasure maps), and mentioned that holy sites are locked away from the free folk!) Ver 0.51 (Added a note about building your home in a mag domain to cut down on repairs) Ver 0.52 Removed meditation 30 as a recommended skill to level if you premium due to being unable to use powers when de-premiumed. Added notes about forage/botanise (will include section on this in next update). Feel free to comment if you know something that needs adding! Firstly, life as one of the free folks isn't easy. You're going to have very restricted mobility initially, and likely for a while until you earn enough to premium up (or possibly forever). You'll learn to travel light, live small, and generally develop excellent diplomatic skills! So, what are your restrictions? 1. 20 skill caps (except faith which you can get to 30) 2. 20 stat caps (*) 3. No access to magic (can't priest) 4. Inability to brand (claim) animals 5. 1 "cared for" animal 6. Account deleted after 3 months idle (**) [This is no longer a feature, the devs removed it] 7. Cannot invite villagers to founded deeds (thanks to Absy for pointing this out) (**) (*) Or highest value up to 30 if you gained more while premium (**) Not the case if you preme up at least once These limit you in a big way in terms of what you can do (for example, you can't build stone houses, large guildings, pilot large carts, ride anything other than a cow, or pilot any boat larger than a rowboat). Your're also not likely to be able to bash, which means you need to plan carefully when building walls and gates. Once it is up, it isn't coming down by your hands! 1. Getting Started - The Skills For Success Alright, you've got your newbie buffs and your newbie items. These are really going to help you set up, and will remain important for along time. There are a few essential skills for free players you might want to consider: 1. Meditation 2. Forage/Botanise 3. First Aid 4. Forestry 5. Gardening 6. Natural Substances 7. Papyrusmaking 8. Fishing So why these skills? Meditation is there to unlock the path of love for you; so you can refresh yourself indefinitely. Should you ever save up enough for premium, you could even learn to enchant tiles (a skill that can make you a bit of cash). Forage/Botanise exists to ensure you're not going to go hungry. Capped at 20, farming doesn't really return enough to keep you alive and fed without a LOT of fields (which you then need to secure in some way), so you are going to have to supplement what you farm. Ocassionally it also grants you coin to use as you see fit which can not hurt. Note - this is now substantially harder and the guide will be updated in the near future to cover this First Aid is going to be something you need often; with your fighting skills capped and your item QL restricted to 23ish tops if you are going solo, you're going to take a lot of damage. Forestry gives you access to sprouts; sprouts are a good way to make a little money early game (people often buy hedge and fruit sprouts in bulk at 1--2c each). Gardening gives you access to flowers; white, blue, greenish and white dotted flowers are easy money for a free player! This will also make it easier for you to plant hedges, which can be used to make easy to maintain hidey holes. Natural Substances is there to give you a reliable ability to make up healing covers, for all that first aid you'll need. It'll also let you make ink for... Papyrusmaking; this will let you write reports on crops to sell to players for almanacs. A fully completed almanac is something players pay reasonably for, and it's always in demand. Finally, fishing, because it's an easy way to spice up your diet. Meat is going to be harder to come by for you early on, so fish can substitute to some degree. These skills are all easy to level quickly, and once you've got them up to 20, you're in a good position to live as one of the free folk. Why isn't SKILL X here? Mostly because, as a free player, they're not going to make you any coins (unless you want to chip 1000 stone bricks for 1 whole silver coin, which I in absolutely no way recommend because it is soul destroyingly dull); however, as a free player, you will probably pick up all skills at 20 eventually; just pick what interests you. 2. Can I Live Without a Deed? Long story short; yes, you can. However, it's a life with a lot of chores since decay hits low quality structures hard! If you do choose to live without a deed, the first recommendation is live near a spawn town, as that way you'll always respawn near home if you die; and trust me, you are going to die a lot as one of the free folk. Settling near the spawn town also carries the advantage of being able to use the spawn town token to access your bank (where your money and up to 5 valuables can be stored decay free) [thanks Haliah for pointing this out]. I also recommend pitching your home within range of a tower, as this gives you free protection. This one is unpopular: keep your home small. You don't need a 3x2 house with all the trimmings; a 1x2 is plenty for your FSB, BSB, chest, racks, oven and Bed. It means you only have 6 walls, 2 floors and 2 roofs to maintain plus your furniture and items. However, you could swap the racks for something else if you made a storage alt (bonus here is that items on them don't decay!). Hedges, hedges hedges. They keep mobs out and they don't ever need repairing. You, essentially, only need to repair your gate. They're not that secure against players, but you don't really have anything worth stealing. Animal storage is going to be a problem; you can either make a barn (small 1x1 or 2x1 structures with grass planted inside) or you can make a large cart and hitch the animals to it (though, if you never prememium, you won't be able to drive these carts)! You're also going to have to maintain whatever storage you use, so be wary and add locks to any container that you use. 3. Basic Home Security Step 1: Lock EVERYTHING A lot of free players make the mistake of failing to lock the door to their home; and this very quickly leads them to log in one day and find everything they own has been looted by a passing new player (or an unscrupulous community member). I say lock everything, because if you are unlucky your door can rot very quickly (within a week if the RNG hates you), and if you are away for that time you could log in to needing to rebuild your door! If you have everything locked in your home, however, you'll still have all your items when you come back. Step 2: Imp EVERYTHING Your home is going to get hit by decay ticks, and this means items will take damage that you need to repair. However, higher quality items decay more slowly, and thus require less repairs. When making furniture/walls/gates/carts/boats, always try and imp them up as high as you can. This is a good way to raise skills quickly, reduce work in the future, and generally live well. Step 3: Carry the ESSENTIALS At some point, things are probably going to go wrong. Maybe you need a break, maybe life hits you with something hard. Either way, you're probably going to be a victim of decay, and if you always log out with the essentials in your inventory (your core tools), you're going to be able to recover quickly. Which takes us onto... 4. Essential Gear As one of the free folk, you may find yourself starting over more than once; or having to deal with security setbacks. Keeping essential gear on you at all times is going to help you do this, as no matter what state your house is in, you're going to be able to recover. I've laid down 3 tiers here. Things to log out with every day, things to log out with when you're not playing for a week, and things to log out with when you're going MIA. (a) Log out with daily Pickaxe, Hatchet, Shovel, Flint and Steel, Saw and Carving Knife. These are the six basic tools of wurm, and with them you can start over. No matter what happens, these tools will get you up on your feet again. Sickle. This is both a tool and a weapon, I always keep one handy and good QL really helps with these. Pottery Bowl. These decay when left out and can't be repaired, best keep it on your inventory unless you live really near to clay and can easily make another. Armourwise: Studded leather is often favoured as the best mix of weight and protection; it's worth keeping a suite of this worn at all times. 2kg of cotton for healing (you're always going to want this). 5 healing covers (only use on medium+ wounds), aim for ones made of lovage and rosemary, or teeth and glands if you have access. (b) Week Off Picking up your anvils (small and large) is probably a good idea here. I'd also say this would be the time to pick up any other craft tools you use often (hammers, spindles, etc) as this will stop them taking large decay hits. Sometimes, depending on your living arrangements, it is also a good idea to keep hold of a few nails (20 or so in a satchel) as this lets you rebuild quickly if a wall has dropped. Remember those key skills I mentioned? Your press might be worth keeping hold of, as would your meditation rug (unless you have already hit the cap). (c) MIA - Long term If you're going for a long period of time, pick up everything not nailed down, imp up what you have to leave behind, and pray. Odds are, your home is going to vanish (hedges may remain!). Also, make sure to log in at least once every couple of weeks if you have never premed; otherwise you will lose everything. Remember, you could create a free alt to store things, as they no longer expire. 5. Settling Down - Where do I live? The optimal living position for a free player is... a) Near a spawn location b) Near a tower c) Near the coast (preferably near reeds) d) Near clay e) Near a mine with access to iron f) Away from large areas of sand g) Within a mag domain (optional but handy) (d) is rather self explanatory, as you're going to need access to clay for ovens and forges. Living near clay is always worthwhile, however, without the ability to pilot large carts, you're going to be dragging your clay back in a small cart, and this will be VERY dangerous and time consuming if you live far from the clay. (a) and (b) we covered earlier. This leaves us with (c), (e), and (f). Why would you want to live near a coast? Well, firstly, it gives you access to safe transport (a rowboat) to reach other coastal deeds. If your rowboat is locked and anchored, it's safe from everything except decay. Once you have imped your rowboat up to 20, you have access to other servers (which in turn opens up impalongs to get your tools REALLY boosted), and it may offer you a way of making a bit of money (ferrying others to events). Why would you prefer to live near reeds? Reeds are a potency 1 healing cover, and can be harvested easily; it essentially gives you one healing component to hand at all times. (e) is often overlooked early on, and people really regret it later since iron is an essential resource for most crafting. Opening up a mine and looking for iron can be time consuming, however, it's better to do it earlier than later. Why avoid large areas of sand? Because sand spawns some REALLY nasty monsters (scorpions, hellhounds), and these are a death sentence for one of the free folk. Finally (g), why live in a mag domain? Essentially, when Ritual of the Sun is cast, it repairs all walls and fences up to full damage, which can help reduce the repairs needed on your home (especially if someone helps you imp it up!). 6. Animal Companions - What critter should I care for? As one of the free folk you can "care for" only one animal (effectively stopping it dying of old age, and also marking it as your own in some way). There are four main critters to recommend for one of the free folk: Sheep If you are not planning to travel, the sheep is for you. It cannot be ridden, but (female obviously) sheep can be sheared for wool AND milked giving you two sets of resources. The main drawback is that they cannot be ridden, and thus might not be a pet you want to keep if you plan to travel by road! Careful breeding can be used to increase their milk/wool yield. Cow A cow makes an excellent pet for safer roads - they can be ridden to save stamina, and can be milked for an easy drink far from water. Generally, they're not great for folks who want to travel a lot (they are VERY slow), but they're handy to keep around if you want to increase the variety of your diet. If you're in the wild, and low on stamina, a cow might just save you (get you close enough to a guard tower to call for help), but it isn't certain. With no speed traits, it has a rough speed of 7.26 on a flat road (at 75% speed due to weight). Donkey The donkey is a relatively new addition and is superior to the cow in almost all ways save that it doesn't produce milk. It's a much faster mount, and you could consider breeding one with a speed trait as one of the free folk. With no speed traits, it has a rough speed of 14.37 on a flat road with no weight drag. (Thanks catsmeow for finding this out) A donkey can outrun most critters, and with a few speed traits gives free folks a safe way to travel (if they travel light!) Mule A mix of horse and donkey - it isn't known if the mule is faster than a donkey with no traits, however it supposedly can carry more weight which means it might be slightly faster due to this. You need to breed a female horse with a male donkey to get a mule, so it might be worth asking around 7. Leaving The Nest - Going Exploring Visited all the coastal areas you wanted to? Looking to really go explore? First things first, make sure you know where you live! Find the name of the nearest deed to you that is connected to the highway network. Write that name down. It'll let you find your route back home. Bring your animal companion, they're likely to save your life and sanity! Finally, travel light. Put all the things you don't need into storage (preferably an alt to avoid decay...), and make sure you're only carrying the essentials. How much you are carrying impacts your movement. My general list of essentials are: (a) My Tent (b) A pottery bowl for cooking and a Waterskin for water (c) My carving knife and Hatchet for fire starting (d) My Sickle (e) My armour (worn) (f) My backpack (worn) You can find food on your way and cook it up easily enough. Always drink from fountains/water sources and you'll rarely ever go dry (and your cow can be milked with the waterskin in a pinch). 8. Risky Ventures - Making Money (at risk!) As one of the free folks, you're already in a bad position to sell things to other players, and the market is especially bad at the moment. However, there are a few ways you can make a bit of money ingame that require a risk. (a) Finding unguarded source fountains and tapping the source (bring a bucket for small barrel for this one). 1KG of source equates to 1 silver coin. On Xanadu, some are even on highways and a long trip can net a few silver coins if you know the routes. [NOTE, this is no longer really viable as source fountains now crumble and move, and don't give much any more! I have left this here for historic interest] (b) Hunt for flowers. This one involves going deep into woods in uninhabited areas. This one is VERY risky, and you might just want to go out with a sickle alone for this one. However, it will always yield something to sell; you might even get lucky and find a white dotted flower. (c) Looting fallen deeds. If a deed falls, and you know where it is, and you get there first. You can sometimes net yourself a lot of items of decent value. Aim to snag rare items where possible, and light valuables such as event items and gems. (d) Almanac Making. This one isn't too high risk, and can be rather safe if you have planted the needed trees/bushes nearby. A full alamanac can go for around 20c (or 1--2 silver according to some players) at time of writing, and you can make a lot of these and store them on an alt. The hardest plant to record is lingonberry bushes, however, this is just a matter of making a trip to a tundra with a pile of paper, a pot of ink, and a reed pen (see, those reeds have other uses!). (e) Unique Scouting. This one is a really really dangerous one, however it can pay enough for both premium and a deed combined. Unique creatures are often hunted by private groups, and finding one and selling its location can be a very quick way to make some money. However, they're rare (you're going to have to wander around a lot of unexplored places), and when found they are often deadly (they can outrun horses, so cows are stone dead). This is arguably the biggest risk/reward a free player can hope for. (f) This isn't too risky, but forage/botanise and many other actions have a chance to yield a treasure map, which you can either complete yourself (for some great rewards sometimes), or sell for a reasonable price to other players. 9. Divine Protection - The Gods of Wurm As one of the free folk, you're going to need every edge you can get. Choosing a god will give you a set of bonuses; but not all bonuses are available to the free folk (in particular, the ones that say "+1 range" don't appear to work as one of the free folk). There isn't really a "best god for all circumstances", so I've laid out the bonuses of interest to free folk below (these all assume you have gotten up to 30 faith, which isn't hard as you just need to pray at altars (most starter towns have them). Fo Fo's free followers gain a passive healing bonus, 25% faster stamina regeneration, 20% slower food/water drain and +10% quality when improving items. If you're looking for a good all rounder, then being one of Fo's free folk is definitely a good idea. Following Fo generally reduces chores, and makes travelling on foot a little less painful. Vynora Vynora's free followers build walls and pave roads slightly faster (5% and 10% respectively) and (most importantly) have a 7.5% shorter repair timer (which means less quality lost when repairing items). They also gain +10% quality when improving wooden and clay items. In general, Vynora isn't really that great a choice for a free player except in once instance, if a free player is planning a short stint of premium then being a vynora follower can make getting essential skills much easier. Mag Mag gives additional offensive CR (makes it easier to attack) and also gives +10% QL when improving metallic items. This last one, alone, makes mag a GREAT choice for free folk smiths who want an extra edge when re-improving their own stuff (or helping out other free folk). The +1 offensive CR is handy if you want to hunt as one of the free folk, but it isn't going to make too much difference (it's the same as having 30 fighting instead of 20). One crticial advantage of Mag is that buildings in his domain get repaired whenever his world spell is cast, which can help reduce your repairs in the long run! Lib Lib's followers can consume corpses to heal themselves, restore food and nutrition on mycelium, get meat from butchering corpses, get +1 offensive CR, and get +10% extra quality when improving leather items. So, in short, Lib is likely a better choice for a free folk follower than Mag; the ability to butcher human corpses for meat is especially useful as people do tend to pay for it. Consuming a corpse for a heal is also a great way to cheat death in a pinch! Unless you're looking to be a free folk smith, I'd say go Lib or Fo, leaning more towards Fo since Fo's bonuses are "nice to have" all the time, whereas Lib's are much more situational. If you're planning to preme up, go Vyn to take advantage, and if you're a smith go Mag. I'd also recommend keeping your home under a Mag domain, since it will help cut down on repairs (just ask a local mag follower to make you an altar!) A note about holy sites - as one of the free folk these offer you nothing sadly, so the only reason to visit is if you're curious or want to meet other players! 10. The P-word - Paying Premium As a free player, you've no doubt seen the limitations in section 1. Notice those entries with a (*) and (**)? Yep, you can actually unlock a bit more content by going premium once (and skilling hard while it lasts!) Namely, you can raise stats to 30 while premium (and your progress will be kept when it runs out), your account is preserved forever (or until wurm ends), and you're no longer restricted on inviting people to your deeds. Oh, and meditation abilities are also preserved! The magic number is 5 silver (enough to buy 2 weeks of premium), though most people save up to 10 silver before they premium up for the first time (4 weeks gives more time to get things done). Assuming you only have enough to premium up once, you should aim for these goals to make your life (when you return to the status of one of the free folk) better: (a) 21 Body Control Lets you ride horses; this is often the first skill you want to push up. Horses really open up the world of wurm for travel, though you can't easily secure horses while not premium (the best you can do is hitch them to a tent, and those are hard to make while one of the free folk!). This is best levelled using archery, or archaeology. The latter is probably best if you know some good ruins as it takes less preparation time. (b) 21 Body Strength Lets you bash structures, and move furniture up and down stairs. This is really convenient if you live offdeed and want to do some re-modelling. You can also push for 23 body strength (not sure if this is possible in 2 weeks) to unlock loading and unloading (which will make your large carts very useful for storing furniture you want to protect). Also, this stat increases the amount you can carry... Blacksmithing is a good way to level this; but really work it into what you enjoy doing. (c) 21 Mind Logic Lets you pilot large carts, wagons, sailing boats and ship transporters; this will really help you when travelling and a lot of players have lived out of a large cart/wagon/sailing boat over the years. The fastest way to level this is by cooking (ask someone about panloading and they might let you use their food stocks if you panload them first, it's hard work but if you open up your time premium with a panloading session? You'll hit 21 mind logic easily, and may even be able to hit 30 (which lets you queue another action). (d) 30 Meditation This one is the odd one out, but arguably one of the more important ones. Getting meditation to level 30 lets you unlock the level 7 path ability, which is often VERY useful. Path of Love's enchant is a great way to make some extra copper, and 30 meditation will let you use it (once you advance along the path). Levelling this one is hard; you're going to need to meditate 5 times per day (20 mins apart); those are the only ones that will give you skill ticks, and you also have to do it some distance away (about 10 tiles). This one is just something you need to break and do; the ingame timers help remember! No longer recommended as unable to use one premium time runs out. There is something you should consider baring in mind, and it relates to how you want to play wurm. If you are just trying the game out, and considering going premium long-term, then you're probably best getting premium as soon as one fo your stats hits 20 (stats are the hardest things to level, and it will save you effort later in the game). However, if you are intending to remaing one of the free folk (maybe you just like the challenge, or you enjoy wurm more as a free player), you're best off getting premium once you have the three stats listed above at 20, and meditation at 20 (with your path at level 6, and the cooldown for the next path advancement done) 11. The Long Game - Finding your Role in the World Wurm is a game about skills; the core mechanic of the game is its grind. Everything is built around that, aiming to punish a player for having low skills and reward those who have high skills. As a free player, you'll never have skills high enough to live easily; the game will be a challenge, and you can often feel like the odd one out with your friends since you won't be able to help much in this respect. The game rarely adds content that free folk can engage with (usually quality gated to be useless for the free folk), so you're going to need to make your own entertainment. As one of the free folk, you have one advantage, and that is time. While your neighbour is chained to their forge pushing they skills up high, they don't have much time to do anything else. A lot of players consider bulk making items, chaining themselves to a crafting spot like their premium peers, and I'm not saying that is a bad thing (nails, mine supports, and bricks/planks are always welcome). However, below are a few things you might want to consider doing with that time, that also helps out others in different ways: 1. Clear/Map mines - All of wurm's islands are old, and riddled with mines, many of which contain valuable treasure. A small group of free players can clear most mine critters if they work together carefully (or you could use a nearby guard tower...), and produce a map with veins marked on to either sell to someone, or to pass on to people moving into the area. Sometimes, there is even some old loot left there... 2. Build guard towers - Wurm's roads are largely safe, but there are still some wild region (especially on Xanadu) that need towers building. While it is a hard task for a free player, they can get a basic QL20 tower built so someone more skilled can improve it. 3. Create safe spots - Remember using hedges as your home? You can also create safe spots near highways for yourself and others to use with just 3 hedges and a gate (set it so that anyone from freedom islands can pass). 4. Ferryman/Carter - Some higher level players travel a lot, and someone who can pilot a rowboat will always fit right in to any community (and usually get their boats improved for free too!). Better yet, if you did the P-word, you might even be able to drive a cart which is a majorly useful skill. Premium players often don't enjoy travelling long distances since there is no skillgain involved; for you though it might be a lot of fun since you're not in it for the skillgain 5. Ecology - Meadows get overgrown, groves become messy and hard to navigate, swamps cover lands near water, and coastlines become messy. A free player can easily clear trees from a meadow, shape a forest to be a welcoming (and safer) place, and even beautify the coast (this latter one takes a lot of work due to slope digging restricitons). 6. Kitchen Librarian - Making almanacs is a good way to make money, but there is currently a fashion among high level wurm players to unlock all cooking recipes. Take some time with the recipe spreadsheet in the guides section, fill out those recipes yourself, and share them with your friends. Everyone likes being able to cook something new! 7. Healer - You might think only Fo priests make good healers, but a free player who manages to get some decent cotton can also take up that role. Remember, you can easily make covers by things you find foraging, and whenever someone goes out hunting an emergency healer can drastically improve their lifespan. Also, remember, the person you are healing could supply you with some high grade cotton that might save your own life one day! There are plenty of roles for a free player in wurm who wants to take part in the community, and feel like they're not just a burden to the people around them. Hopefully you've found this guide helpful and enjoyable!

I have 100 in gardening and still get ql 99 coffee cherries , same as green tea leaves also ql 99. I have also 100 farming and that gives ql 100 veggies, a long time before i hit the real 100 in that skill. Now is my question is there a bug by picking those pottery planters or is that the highest you can pick from them. The GM Belisama told me too write it here and maybe someone has a answer too this, because GM Belisama didnt had the answer for me. When i harvest woad that is ql 99,13, also not ql 100. So hopefully someone can give me the answer too this

Hopefully the picture says enough. I know "off" Category traits have the ability to get onto animals, but it is such a huge disappointment when this happens with a rare trait. I'm not sure if this is intended or fixable. I will say, however, that if this is the price we have to pay for 4 speed Hell Horses with the rare Combat trait, I suppose I'm willing to pay it. 😄

I am not sure about the metal types (if its the last one or the first one or random in the end) but for rune value its a combination of all fragments. Basicly you get a fragment out of the ground with a hidden set value and when you restor it you change this value. When combining fragments the overall points/number of fragments is used to roll on the rune table. So when the Dev say that it have a highter rune chacne I guess it means his overall hidden value is higher.

Really glad to hear this. I came to the forums to report a different AH bug, but this caught my attention first. I'd wondered if this was reported already. This "feature" added in the May 2021 😱 update has literally never worked. Until now, I've kinda felt like... why did they even bother adding it?? Seems like some eyes are on it and maybe it'll be functional soon though. Thanks!! 🥳

Thanks for spotting that. Found the reason for this and will figure out if changing it to be in line with other ores will cause any issues.

Not sure if this is a bug or not but on normal servers, tin ore fragments are the only ore fragment derived from unidentified metal fragments the rest of the ore fragments come straight from unidentified fragments Restoration stages Unidentified fragment = unidentified metal fragment = ore fragment tin Unidentified fragment = all the other ore fragments

Pretty sure that horse died in the pen (AOE for the death) and was moved there so the owner could salvage gear. BUT, if you don't know, still a great example.

since all that data is a thing... that's a great base for another bigger "journal"; maybe book or library with exceeding typical 100 page limit, and allowing players to cover whole server(hundreds/thousands.. of reports impossible to copy or take out once they are added to it), show markers like deed-name and location and option to interact and select specific deed to read the full report - this will serve as long term goal, bragging rights mechanic.. and way to share with friends who visit where you've been and obviously stayed for a bit .. to get a token, find some information from the area. every x amount of unique deeds a player finds per server sector (typical 9 - nw/ncenter/ne/w/center/e/sw/scenter/se), there could be a title for it... or reward of the now typical journal sleep bonus grabs with claim button.. or something like the suggested system to turn arch tokens to something and receive points to redeem for even "rarer" decorations, rng skin or w/e of the sort...

Went out intending to explore a treasure map, wound up having more fun filling in the real map! As a note to my fellow cartographers, I've added the following towers: - Filled in some highways around O12 - Tuga 738 - Kaeleb 890 - Ozzland 234 - Wwtd 130 - Sidereal 434 - Sidereal 346 - Mae 434 - Vernygora 770

In regards to token, the issue people have with them is that they often go back to the same fallen deeds time after time, and they end up with dozens of the same tokens. One is nice. A couple, of different metals, are OK. But 20 from the same place..... no thanks. I would say that they should only have one value, decoration, and that is fine. Really - rewards out of archaeo (particularly if you count the seasonal events now) are outstanding. Some ways of solving the above, while not really breaking anything: 1) High sac value for priests. Something along the line of 30 favor for a copper/iron one, to 100 for a maxed out one. Probably too much, to be honest, but still a use. 2) can we keep the visual, but just reduce the mass to 0.01 or even smaller? Then, it really doesn't matter if they can be smelted or not - they are basically nothing at that point. 3) A special case,/cabinet that we can put them into that eats them (like altar sac), that ranks "deeds known" on a scale of 1 to ??. Basically, it eats the token, and depending on QL and material gives a point value. You add more tokens and you increase the number/value. Someone can go up and click the "box" and get a pop up window that is just a list of deed names, servers, person who put the token into the box and "known value". It has no gameplay effect other than bragging rights. Obviously not a fully fleshed out idea, but a solid kernel for one I hope. If in the long term there comes a way to remove runes from items, perhaps this would be a solid way to do it - spend 1k of your "token points" and you can a random rune removed and the item is destroyed, who knows. Again, just the beginning of something - but one of potential high rewards so probably not well balanced.

I recently did a difficult map and spent a whole two days riding around and exploring south and south-west Independence. Here are some screenies from the trip! On my way up to Gurubear's crater. It's huge inside! I don't think I've ever seen moss siding on a highway before, but it makes this stone slab road feel so much more forest-y. I love it. I had a clue that took me to near Akhenaten, so I went over to the old arena. I remember coming here in 2013 for a tournament, now the arena is just some old embankments (and it feels so much smaller than it did back in the day.) I managed to find this (bad) old screenie from the 5th Akhenaten fighting tournament, back then in February 2013: Heading home with my loot after two days of treasure hunting

You know, you have to appreciate the attention to detail when you can take seemingly random signs from one graphic in the game and actually translate them! Also, if you ever look at the gravestone and translate that text, it will read something like "respawn already".

Wow, I've never looked closely at these before. Thank you for this post! But I think Google translate has led you on something of a wild goose chase. I've used the Wikipedia younger futhark article to decode the first message (top left), which is actually kind of hilarious: Announcement our village has mead mead and more mead so please join us Now to crack the others...

Greetings my fine Wurmians, As many of you may have noticed, we've made some changes to our chat tabs in game. Our foreign-language chats have expanded to include a Spanish channel, and you'll also notice that these now say Russian_GL, Spanish_GL, German_GL, and Non-English_GL. This change has been made after assessing how the channels are used, and how we'd like them to continue to grow. These are still your go to channels for seeking any help you may need, to augment the CA_Help channel, but this more accurately reflects what each channel may be used for, including general chat. These channels are still moderated, and all moderation discussions/actions are in English, as per game rules. To that end, we will be seeking to continue to fill our Community Assistant ranks of all languages! I have opened the application cycle, please see this thread: If you are interested, please review the information in that link, and send me a forum PM with your application or any questions you may have. For those who show the proper drive and team ethics, advancement to Chat Moderator may be in your future! Happy Wurming, Belisama, Lead Chat Moderator

doesn't have to be a priest, just meditation Path of Power level 7 I know Sklotopolis has this awesome thing but i don't know if it's a public mod or Sklo exclusive: It comes with 20 charges, can be recharged at any token (1s/1charge) It turns any vein in to rock so all that's left to do is to mine out the 50-ish rock shards.

I appreciate the kind thoughts Ajala but really I have enough stuff, lol, well, i need mortar, but that's not really in the spirit of this post, LOL. Anyway, I do appreciate it, but uh, really not necessary. I won't say it's my pleasure inputting all that into the spreadsheet, but it does give me something to do while having coffee in the morning Thanks

Cooked rice should work with either saucepan or pottery bowl from memory. The lore system will try to steer you towards recipes you don't know, if what you've got so far could have multiple outcomes, so it's likely suggesting a different recipe to cooked rice. If you put rice and any quantity of water in a pottery bowl (or probably saucepan), optionally with a salt, and then do lore on your bowl, it will tell you how much water you need (the 80g - 120g referred to above). You can then adjust the amount of water in your bowl to make the recipe (typically using the pottery measuring jug, which is designed for exactly this).

Finest shipbuilder I've ever met personally. I'd highly recommend the use of Jpopper's Shipbuilding services. I recently returned to Wurm to a ruined deed and sunken ships, far away from my friends. I've dabbled in ship building, but I felt like I wanted to sail to my new home in style and with incredible speed. Jpopper sold me this beautiful raspberrywood caravel with all the bells and whistles... she can move heaven and earth and not a ship on Indy can catch her in a gale
