  2. so im looking at some posts for deeds and some say they have traders some say merchants. whats the diffrence between them?
  3. The Land and the City Pentos is built around a small bay. We have forests, ocean, and a mountain all nearby. The landscape of the city tries to make it so you can see the ocean as often as possible. There is a lot of room to expand in the easterly direction but right now we're focusing on developing the land around the bay. Pentos is being built on an old settlement. we are currently working to build basic infrastructure and generally clean the place up. The plan for this town is to be a provider of all kinds of goods and services. Vynora is the major religion in Pentos and her influence is throughout the city. Services: (I'll be sticking ideas for services in a settlement only document. Actual ongoing services will be put here soon) Notes if you plan on becoming a citizen: All areas close by the city core are organized to be easily navigate-able. Consider that before building and double check if the area you are building is right.   5. Hippy Valley Market Phase I is now ready for new merchants to be added!! The market is able to house 88 Merchants! (44 currently (Phase I)) Accessible by all types of boats. Located in the NE region, just east of MT Tundra. Spots will be available soon for bulk vendors. 5 minutes via boat to NE ocean. 10 minute walk/horse to Esert. 2 minutes from old Port Exodus. On-deed Ship docking. Feel free to post you merchants wares here if you happen to place at the Hippy Valley deed.
  6. Make an Option to link a merchant's inventory to a central listing. Each time an item is purchased the merchant sends an updated goods held list to the index. Or each time a player interacts with a index board it decided if same deed opt in merchants need their goods listings updated. This would be an opt in. NO you can't buy stuff from the index, its sole purpose is to make it easier for folks to find things. I think some players are afraid of systems like this because it makes it easier to undercut each other's prices. This could still be useful if prices weren't on the index or maybe make submitting them optional. Since we don't have GPS like map system the merchant should send the name of the deed its on. Maybe we could attach a 4x4 grid based labels to entries: Far N Far E, Far N Mid E, Far N Mid W, Far N Far W Mid N Far E, Mid N Mid E, Mid N Mid W, Mid N Far W Mid S Far E, Mid S Mid E, Mid S Mid W, Mid S Far W Far S Far E, Far S Mid E, Far S Mid W, Far S Far W -or- (shorter but not as intuitive) 01,02,03,04 05,06,07,08 09,10,11,12 13,14,15,16 A bulletin board like object will be used to fetch information. I'm not sure how robust the search options need to be. I'd be happy with the ability to search for say, "shovel" and then sort by quality. We need the ability to examine returned items. Discuss if we could included to varying degree how affective information submission and retrieval is based on courier/dark messenger enchants. Data submission: - The merchant will delay submitting data similar to mail in transit duration. Problem here is the server would have to cycle through all merchants to see if its time to submit. - The merchant will report more accurate information for high power enchants and less for lower. I really don't like this because it's counterproductive. - (I like this) Index boards serve as the trigger to fetch information from same deed merchants. This submission is kinda like a group data submission for all merchants opting in on that deed. The frequence which this happens varies on enchant power and how frequently people use it. Every time a player looks up prices the board check to see when it last got prices. Then using that last fetch time, enchant power and some randomness it decided if it should update prices. This would create a scenario where the server only has to track one index and only expends resources as a result of player action. I think its best to avoid something where the server has to cycle through objects over and over. Data accessing: - Players have to ask the board to fetch data from other deeds and after some enchant related delay it returns a snapshot of the index for a moment in time. Problem here is the server would have to track hundreds of not thousands of "moments in time" - Return less accurate information which I think isn't a good idea. - Increase the distance which the board will fetch information. There would not be any indication of what was excluded This has potential but I'd want to see 95+ enchant cover a whole server. We'd be looking at the single listing as live data but the server would hide entries for things determined to be too far away. - (I like this) Alter how quickly you can access the index and how long it will be available afterwards. Here we wouldn't be fetching snapshots but reducing how long a live feed stays available. The board could remember and check a time stamp each time a player attempts to use it to check if the live feed has timed out. We could also vary fetching success chances. I can see a 10 power enchant taking 30 second attempts with 25% success and remaining live for 1 minute. Whereas a 95 power might take 10s with 100% success and remain live for 10 minutes.
  7. Hi! I would like to sell fully stocked (50 items) merchant at Arcanum Market (Exodus). Oh... And it's steel, so it's pretty unique / Legen - wait for it - Dary, Legendary! Items photo with prices: Total: around 33s (33,53s) - tax (10%) = around 30s Merchant Contract is worth 10s on Trader or 8s (sometimes 7s) if you buy it from other player. I tried to put fair prices on those items. There is an access to the Merchant, so during this auction some of the items can be sold. Money will stay in merchant inventory. I can't CoD Merchant Contract so you will have to pick it up (Sarmatian Stronghold [X45, Y37] or Arcanum Market). Why do I want to sell it this way? Cause I have to quit Wurm for couple of months soon and don't have much time to sell those items separately.   8. I would like to ask your opinion about how can you sold farm items with merchant. My idea is, if I put 100 vegg to a backpack it can be placed to the merchant. The problem is with cotton and wemp due the backpack can't contain 100 from those. Do you think it can work in this way? Have you got any other idea? Thanks all opportunity!

  13. Judarian Acres is now open! We are located off of the Stigg-Amish highway at at J-43 on Darkmalice's map (http://noizeviolatio...wurm/CelebH.png) and G-6 on Quiglen's map (http://imgon.net/di-5IF3.png). We have self-service pens currently stocked with bulls, cows, deer, bison, and 2-4 speed horses. Soon I will have dogs available as well. Taming is allowed on deed to facilitate access to deer, but you are taming at your own risk! I would recommend reading the taming article in the wiki before attempting this if you are new. As well as keys for the animals pens, the merchant is also stocked with ropes for 2c each and 40ql oaken grooming brushes for 15c each.   14. Hi, It would be nice to have the sum of coin value displayed somewhere in the windows (trade window between players, merchants, traders, also in inventory). Could work on that way, when someone select some coins the tooltip will show the sum value (currently it shows only the number of coins). Like it does while we select multiple items for combining, but with the value of coins appear instead of the number of them.
  15. Allow mayors to set a tax on merchants placed on their deed. Tax rate should be configurable from 0% to 5% in 0.1% increments. When placing a merchant, a message appears notifying the merchant's owner that a merchant tax is in effect on this deed, and what the current rate is. The merchant owner is then given the option to proceed with placing the merchant, or cancelling. Taxes collected from merchants are added to the deed upkeep. If the tax rate is changed, the new tax rate is ONLY applied to newly placed merchants. All existing merchants continue to be taxed at the old rate. Existing merchants have 30 days to accept the new tax rate, or they are no longer able to sell items. When selecting to manage a merchant contract, there whould be a message along the lines of "The mayor has changed tax rate for this merchant has been changed from 1% to 1.5%. You have 30 days to accept this change, or your merchant will no longer be able to sell at this location." with an "I accept" button. Once the owner selects "I accept", the tax rate is changed. If they do not accept within 30 days, the merchant stops selling their items. They can then either choose to accept the new tax rate, or disband their merchant and place him elsewhere. The main idea behind merchant taxes is to provide an extra source of funding for busy deeds, and it would be totally up to the mayor of a given deed whether or not they wanted to charge a tax for having a merchant placed there.

Someone recently posted a thoughtful suggestion in the Town Hall forum for people to buy a little extra silver on the Wurm Online Shop next month, in order to send a thanks to Code Club and the good work they do. It struck me as a generous and kind gesture for the holiday season. In that thread, some folks also lamented their inability to buy a gift certificate for premium time for their friends. This would be a wonderful thing, but since we don't have the option yet, something else might be more appropriate. Other servers have their holiday traditions, such as the Impalong and summer festivals. These are wonderful, and things for them to be proud of. And Celebration has its own burgeoning tradition of festivals, commerce, and trade--I have friends who come down from the north and are amazed and surprised at how vibrant our markets are here, and how much innovation in trade there is. To me, it's a source of great pride that we have such amazing commerce and trade, so I'd like to promote it while also sending a thanks to the developers. This holiday season, if you're thinking of buying a little extra silver on the shop to show your appreciation to the devs, perhaps consider bestowing a gift of a merchant contract to some hard-working player who could use one. What better way to encourage someone to play, help the community, and show your thanks to the devs than helping a friend open up their first vendor stand and sell the fruits of their labor? Merchants don't decay! They never need repairs. They can't be lost or stolen. They require no maintenance or upkeep. They need no grooming. Merchants are really the gift that keeps on giving. Deed is intended to take in any players to learn and skill up, but land to build on is not available so must use rooms at the inn. We do accept any players so contact us if you are interested in joining to learn. Failure to abide to the rules will get kicked out. The Center Party Room: Feel free to come in and party. It will be filled with rare aesthetic items slowly over time. PVP Guilds: Guilds from the Chaos Server and Epic Cluster. Instead of merchant stalls, we have provided arched buildings for a different look from the standard marketplace and to provide the sellers the opportunity to decorate and customize their spot. We also have a trader open to the public, 2 mailboxes with 95 & 82 courier enchants, and off deed spots to place BSB’s and FSB’s for bulk items. There are currently plans for 26 merchant spots. However, 26 is not necessarily the limit. If there is a demand, accommodations can be made to fit more merchants. Current merchants: Merchant Dawnshroud ironworks –lamps and metal tools Merchant Tallowyn - Misc. sprouts Merchant Ayala- Maple and Lavender Sprouts Merchant Joseph – BSB’s, FSB’s, wood tools, fine carpentry items, and bulk wood items We need more merchants.   23. Is there any way we could get a list of items your merchant has sold, in the manage merchant box. Quality of item and enchants listing would also be beneficial in the manage prices listing. Also listing how much tax they have paid, and highest demand items. I think just a few of these could increase overall productivity.

All kinds of Crafters and Sellers are welcome to place their Merchants in our Market Stalls or even the great Market hall we built to enhance the design. There are plenty of spots to fill. Where to find us Our Village is located south of Esert. You can reach it in about 10 Minutes from there when walking. We also have a large harbor for those who prefer to sail over. The coordinates are X29, Y37. How to put your merchant Simply contact us and give us a short notice who you are in game and where you want to put up your merchant. If you want a spot in our themed market hall rooms arrange a time with us so we can show you the place and add you to the writ. You can PM me in game under the name Vedurin or PM me on the forums. So far we have space for 38 merchants, which will be increased soon. Let's talk about extras ! The marketplace itself just finished and opened to the public. Besides the unusual design we worked out and the merchants themselves we'll continue to add more features to the merchandise. A webinterface is being worked out which is supposed to offer an overview of the market, advertising, order handling, notifications for stock refill and more. In the future we will build a castle which will be location for several public events. Plus more public services like mail box, inn, tavern, duel arena and others are planned.
