How about adding a new message board called a trade board? Players could then set buildings or stalls as trade structures which would allow personal merchants to post their items to the board. This would not be instant, requiring a 24h waiting period from when you place an item on the trader to it becoming available for purchase but removing items are instantly updated (helps with oopsies or selling the item yourself via trade channel and PM). Players could then see items that are listed on these merchants for trade on their server (server specific) and what deed the merchant is on. If the deed has a mailbox on it, the merchant can utilize the mailbox (and it's enchantment level) to send items allowing players to trade with the merchant remotely. Money for these trades is deducted from the bank immediately (plus postage after a confirmation pop-up) and the items are sent like normal but the funds from the purchase go to the merchant as though a player were trading with the merchant directly (minus postage of course plus the merchant's cut). I think this would make merchants much more useful, especially for those who are much farther away from major population centers without completely changing the way trading works in Wurm.

Want to sell 36 NFI silvers for SFI ones in a one to one trade. While coinage is preferred, I am willing to barter for items of value that are on either cluster.

As the title says, if you happen to be in possession of a Mol Rehan wagon (normal wagon, non-rare is just fine by me) and you are willing, I would do a strait-up trade for my rare Pandemonium wagon. Even BETTER, if you have a RARE MR wagon, I will trade you the rare Panda +15 silver coins ON TOP OF THIS, in order to secure such a rare beauty. Sorry, but no other template will do. This trade would make my dreams come true, even more than a drake set ever would. And I've never had either one of those, so.. that should tell you something. MOREOVER! Make this trade and you will forever gain a new best friend and lucrative trade partner~ ( I do premium horse breeding, bulk trading, high blacksmith imping, EXCELLENT deed planning and construction services, and I'm a helluva dps fighter, willing to come out to ANY rift, unique fight or anything else you need exterminated). Hope to hear back from some lovely folks, very soon on this one. Much ❤️ and appreciation!!

the titles says it all, right now we can only use "WTS ,WTB,WTT,PC or @" to start messages on trade chat, it would be nice to allow the use or WTA for auction links.

A lot more buying and selling from server to server would be going on if say we had a NPC service like the wagoner, we could have a coastal service, say a boat captain who loads up boats for delivery..I know everyone doesn't have a coastal deed but you could let those that do have one and most people have access to wagoner....you could ship it thru the wagoner and it could take it to a dock NPC and transfer it ..Just an idea,

Greetings, I have coin on the new steam cluster NFI, in Harmony Bay, I wish to trade to you. In exchange I wish to receive coin on the old cluster SFI, i.e. Xanadu from you. Looking to trade your coin for mine 1:1 even trades. I am the single owner of this 10 year old account on SFI with a lengthy positive trade history. Thank You. -Huser

Want to trade my festive bedroll for your Yule goat or Snowman statue! (the one that makes snowballs) I rarely go outside my deed, so would love to trade my Festive bedroll (which gives 100% Sleep Bonus unlike crafted one) for something cute I can decorate my house with. All of these are Christmas event gifts given out at random so I'd think the exchange 1:1 would be fair. If you just want to sell your Yule goat/snowman statue or buy the bedroll I'm also open for offers, but I'd prefer if the exchange would result in me losing the bedroll and gaining one of those items instead.

The Northern Freedom Isles Market has a lot of active members and we are the center of a Harmony-based alliance focused on trade. We have a large market currently under development, where we expect many vendors will turn into an endgame market. Why join an alliance? Here are some useful perks of being part of our alliance: 1. You'll be able to easily ask our members if they have a certain product available for sale. We already have some merchants set up selling wares at our settlement. 2. If your settlement is large with several merchants, you will be able to have a small building in our market deed, with private access for only your villagers. The larger your village, the bigger the building. You'll be able to store stuff in the building to sell later on your merchant. 3. Your merchant will get more traffic and you will be able to see other wares all in one convenient location. 4. There are 3 main locations for merchants in our market. The prime location is for our marketeers, the secondary location (still great locations) are for our allies. And the third (and less favorable) location is for all others who want to place a merchant with us. What's the key point here? Join our alliance! 5. Place your merchants in our market and help us get more sellers while we help you get more buyers and traffic. 6. You'll be able to use our outposts later, which will provide safety and a place to rest while traveling. This is to be determined at a later time. This sounds too good to be true. What's the catch? There's really no reason NOT to join an alliance. You can set permissions for people in your alliance the same as you can set permissions for all other groups. Your village will continue to be safe as long as you don't give alliance members any special permissions that you don't want to trust them with. We look forward to adding you to the growing list of villages in our alliance. You can message me here or leave a comment, but the most effective way of joining will be messaging Turkeys while logged into Harmony. Thanks for reading! -Turkeys

Hey all, It was just out of curiosity when I questioned in CA Help whether there was a name and shame page in the forums to warn players/characters both old and new of traders/players that may lead them astray or scam them in any many. This could be a failed currency exchange, an unpaid job or another duplicitous action. It would be a landing page to place a set of names for individuals victim to such deceptions to protect and hopefully prevent future disappointments. It's just an idea, but I'll like to know what you all think. Thanks, TheSmithy

Spoiler: This suggestion is to ultimately do away with deed upkeep as money upkeep. I personally recommend that a deed be limited by upkeep via materials consumed for maintenance, fence borders for deeds, and have wurm move away from direct monetary payments. 3 types of NPC merchants in every starter town. I know a lot of people would whine and ###### about this system, but virtually everyone wants some sort of coherent market system. I strongly recommend this because it's simple, in-depth, allows players to actually be traders or even specialize in certain trades, and provides a pathway to support yourself without having to learn everything. I currently do not support private versions of these as it would cause to much headache. Each starter town merchants MUST be separate, A map wide or game wide connected merchant system would cause more damage and hurt the game in the long run. New action: Seal Crate Activate hammer/mallet and right click crate to be sealed. Nails are consumed as necessary from inventory. Crates of singular items can be sealed with a small or large nails respectively. (Yes Wurm, be specific,) The crates will then read as a "Large/small sealed crate of X quality Items". Large Crate merchants: Only purchases must be sealed large crate of singular items. Items in crates sold to vendor must be above 30 quality Items in crates sold from vendor will be 30 only quality. Crates sold to or from a cart or wagon. Will purchase crates of items at "market price" minus 20% as the taxes/merchants cut, whatever. Will sell crates of items at "market price" plus 20% as the taxes/merchant cut, whatever. Sales and Purchases are 1 at a time. Small Crate merchants: Only purchases must be sealed small crate of singular items. Items in crates sold to vendor must be above 30 quality Items in crates sold from vendor will be 30 only quality. Crates sold to or from a cart or wagon. Will purchase crates of items at "market price" minus 35% as the taxes/merchants cut, whatever. Will sell crates of items at "market price" plus 35% as the taxes/merchant cut, whatever. Sales and Purchases are 1 at a time. Basic Merchant: Purchases must be of singular items. Items sold to vendor must be above 30 quality Items sold from vendor will be 30 only quality. Items sold to or from a player inventory. Will purchase items at "market price" minus 50% as the taxes/merchants cut, whatever. Will sell items at "market price" plus 50% as the taxes/merchant cut, whatever. Sales and Purchases are 1 at a time. Edit 1: The market price of items on the merchant would need to be dynamic, so that as the merchant gains inventory the price lowers. Inversely if his inventory dwindles on a particular item, the price would increase respective of amount on hand.

Hello all, I was looking at the latest update to the Xanadu community map, thanks @Aniceset, and I see that there are no markets in the SW of Xan that meet the requirement of 6 active, stocked merchants. I was wondering if there is anyone who is planning on setting one up, or if there is one already that is up to date but maybe only has 4 or 5 traders? Basically, where is a good place to browse in SW Xan? Also, I suppose it should improve once the highway connection is done, linking Newspring, Linton, and Vrock Landing.

"Trade Record, Leather" I suggest that there should be an item in-game that tracks transactions your character makes with other players. Example: A few weeks ago, I purchased some sprouts from the in-game trade channel. It was a good deal, and I may be interested in more, but I have no idea who the trade was with. In real life, I could go back into my check book or online transaction summaries and see who I bought them from. In game, no such feature exists(aside from physically recording it in real time). With an item like this in game, every time we accept a trade a record of it would be recorded automatically for future reference. Features: -Records the name of the person you traded with -Records what you gave, and what you got -Records the time and date of the trade -Option to record manually via papyrus/reed for bulk sales, etc Pros: -Promotes the economy -Encourages individual merchants to make a name for themselves -Adds another book-like item to the game (like the Almanac) Cons: -Records "magically" (could be interpreted as unrealistic for game immersion) -More clutter to carry around in-game So, Trade Records? Pros outweigh the cons in my book! What do you all think!?
