Hmm. I'm running my clients on Ubuntu 14.04 64bit, I have a crap Nvidia card in my desktop config, have a 8 yo laptop with very crappy mobile ATI chipset and some with Intel integrated display adapters (the laptops boot from pendrives you can imagine the overall I/O speed still give surprisingly smooth experience ingame). Using Wurm online and unlimited clients on them running sometimes multiple clients in demanding times (unique hunts, etc)., all are quite rock solid. I strongly recommend to get rid of IcedTea and install Java 8, easy-lazy way is using http://www.webupd8.org/2012/09/install-oracle-java-8-in-ubuntu-via-ppa.html. Go 64bit of course if your installation is 64bit. That will also autoupdate Java once configured. Nvidia proprietary driver works flawlessly for me, but I have to use the open drivers for the mobile ATi chip as AMD was kind enough to dump it from the product line already.

Logging off an alt sometimes work strange, I tend to see "xxx lost link" only 20-30 mins later disconnecting. Noticed on Xana only so far as I remember.

Might be that Newspring island will have a lot of fancy ships parking on the weekend? -

Errr. I should have know better. I've been playing Advanced Dungeons and Dragons back in million years 8 days a week 36 hours a day - if a Wish was not worded with utmost care the GM always bended it over.. -
Where is the frightening little mouse on the picture???

Really lovely idea! Including the all stat towns and the impalong teleports! (next time please put down a teleport machne next to my bed as well please ) I'll definitely want to be there and I hope I'll be able to make it - the last maze hunt was frustrating on the first day and enormous fun on the second day when I restarted it... -
Well, yes. All steps that are purely updates and changes in mechanics and game features we mentioned will be in WU as well so will not make WO more attractive. What can make WO have an influx of NEW players is something which is possible in WO only - need to somehow take advantage of the already existing community, staff and/or economy. From the previous pages: Basically the "noob firendly" steps might work quite well - personally like the scenario idea a lot (choose between a farmer, explorer, etc.,etc. and let them have a fun and interactive first steps tasks as tutorial, and the periodic free prem handouts on new accounts to have the new players feel the difference being a prem. Also the revamp of the acc structure can make some good to keep existing subscribers and get new ones - having a single paid account with a defined number of possible prem characters attached to it. On the other hand changing skillgain and tedium might drive away some existing players: I myself don't really like the easy skillgain on WU after playing a few weeks there as I don't have the relief and pride of accomplishment.

I'm about to sell a bunch of dirt - more than 10k available. Pricing is flat 1s/1k, delivery free if you order 5k or more -> to any freedom PVE shore accessible by knarr. Please give a few days lead time though. Please prepare large crates in exchange but if you need the crates it is available at the rate of 10c / large crate (holding 300 dirts each). I plan to stick to the pricing as this sale is to keep the deeds of a good friend alive who is forced by RealWorld(tm) to be off Wurm for several months, I suppose the dirt she collected will easily preserve her beloved places, I'm happy to add my time in support PM me here or ingame or simply reply to the topic if you are interested.

Regarding the sailing boost - woa or a specific maybe Fo spell on ships, plus ql should matter, maybe a sailing skill introduced? Min speed is awful, I see more important to increase min speed than max if both seems too much buff. Combined with better server connections it would do.

Many thanks for this hunt, I think it was good as is - it did not felt too short at all. The ending was hmm... unlucky for me and as I heard for a few others, I don't want to do and spoilers on it but if you did not try this hunt I highly recommend itand ... watch your steps, avoid walking in fog

Without any point-and-blame wouldn't it worth to share the story to have us others be prepared? You being not a beginner in Wurm and fallen to it maybe others could as well... Anyway grats on it got resolved !

Browsing through the new pages of the thread I'm hooked on the idea of giving out a few days premium for free - advertised properly on Steam and other instruments. I myself had been lured to the paying community of games this way - once you bite the bait...

ohh yes diagonal fences and walls would be awesome, much more building possibilities unlocked ... I suppose that is not something that could fit a 2 month development period though

My comments: Many thanks for addressing the memory leak - I'm eager to test it now Cannot say how happy I'm about the bury revamp Looking forward to the next 20-30 dragons instead of 30-40 to finally have a set myself I personally liked the mad time on Xanadu but thanks for the fix! Several people reported the height issue of chairs/tables on ground floor, it is present for carts, animals and our legs - all are sunken into floors if present on groundfloor, works fine on any higher levels (maybe something with groundfloor being 33 slopes high, others are 30 slopes high only? - floor level is not calculated on groundfloor?)

Absoltely. Leave skillgain and timers alone - too much pain to change now.

I would say the contrary might work better, full sub for first character, discount on the alts. The family here pays for 8 characters, some of part time only - might be tempting to pay full time with a discount.

Sorry for hijacking your ideas Silakka but these points started my brain ..

When you pave nearest corner with gravel, the gravel "bleeds" to the tile borders of the other half - like a tile transition to the non-existing gravel texture there.

Oh and the long awaited new shader please to bring back wood type variety on items

Wox, many thanks for all the great work you've done on the game. Best wishes to you!!! Sitting is a game improvement, although I'm a senseless male 7-8 years ago I've been a heavy Second Life user and since then I miss the sitting and poses altogether from all virtual worlds I encounter...

On Ubuntu 14.04 I can only start without error messages if I run it from sudo. I've set all the subfolder etc. permissions to 777 so I don't see the reason, the folders are under my own home folder. Is there anything I should do yet to be able to run it without sudo? The Deedplanner is fantastic, never used before but now I'm already quite familiar with it after a day
