  1. I had a goblin come in a locked door not so long ago (on inde)
  2. On Inde as well... You see an old Olive tree. The tree has some fine black olives. You cannot harvest with that. [sickle, both manually and using keybind] It is 17:54:48 on Luck day in week 2 of the starfall of the Leaf in the year of 1033. My poor lonely olives.... will we ever be reunited?
  3. I was wondering the same as Amadee.
  4. Me too... loved my awning. Started suggestion thread for replacement
  5. Yup, would love a way to tell which animal is which and avoid inbreeding...
  6. Logged on today to discover the awning I love so much above my front door is missing.... probably I suppose because walls were updated.... (if the awnings weren't actually supposed to go I will very very gladly take them back.. since the indoor-awning issue was solved long ago..) So, for those of us that really want the awnings.. if we can't just plain ol' have them back.. can we get some sort of replacement that we can build and push into place ?? Otherwise if the awnings were removed for the wall update/expanding update... can the code not already detect when a door is outside or inside and place the awning that way?
  7. I like that a lot, Arkonick! Of course we'd need to add in some color/plants... but otherwise I think even stylistically your model would look nice in-game. I was thinking... (especially since my beloved front door awning disappeared today) for things like windowboxes/shutters or... replacement separately-buildable awnings for doors that perhaps we don't even need to ability to "hang" things or create totally new wall types... What is very easy to do with things like lamps through wooden wall-type is to simply push them up into the wall to show through the outside.... Only problem you run into is if you have a thick wall you cant push the object enough(stone walls do this).... (Trust me, I tried pushing the flowerpots through my upstairs walls to have make-shift flowerboxes.. It didn't work well) So what if... these were stand-alone objects that had the.. "center" of the object located above an invisible platform.. so that they could be easily put down and pushed wherever (even "through" walls). I don't really have access to programs to illustrate and post a picture in a really clear/specific manner.. but lets say... that we have a wall a wall is straight vertical -like so I <---- wall -now we base a flowerbox/shutter model to hang on a wall.. that would suspend in the air (but would appear attached to a wall when pushed into place)... with an invisible platrform that rests on the floor to "hold it up"/allow it to be pushed farther into walls if necessary, but also wouldn't show if it was not necessary to push as far --that way... the same model could be used through stone and wood walls equally well... so basic shape for that would be as so... L <----windowbox/shutters are mounted in suitable place floating on the "wall" vertical line.... and then we have the base horizontally on the floor... *So in your house you have your wall.... I<---wall *then you make your wall ornamentation and push into the wall to show through the other side.. I L .. keep pushing I L.... IL..... L .... presto! you have your ornament looking as if it naturally is part of your window without having to create new walls and such... Now .. as I have said many a time before.. I don't actually know anything about coding and doing all these amazing computer model things.. so perhaps it would not be necessary to actually have that invisible horizontal bottom part.. but the gist of it is that the "center" of the object (the point at which wurm says, "Nope, sorry I wont let you push this through a wall) would be offset far enough back to go through both types of walls.
  8. As I like to say "Percentages are lies!" Edit: Niners- I'm not saying it wasTsoukalos, but it wasTsoukalos.
  9. Uhhhmm, If I could get the awning back over my front door that'd be great....mmmhkaaayyy Not sure where it went to ... must have developed legs since yesterday... *cries for lost awning*
  10. Everyone knows bridges are probably coming soon... why not have these pretties in the meantime to console ourselves?
  11. In true give-a-mouse-a-cookie fashion: Window boxes????? I know this has been asked for before, and there are still bugs and things being worked out from previous updates... but maybe uh... If we ask one more time?
  12. I have heard players saying they are using new seeds and raking once a day and still getting 1 harvest. I don't know what is going on with the new code or if things with the new code are all sorted out yet - but I think for anyone to be getting 1 harvest on a consistent basis is unacceptable. I remember being a noob and struggling for food. Edit- to show picture... seems relevant...
  13. Hank, Jberg- Yup certainly you are correct. Server restarts aside though there did used to be two grape seasons. I suspect this may have changed with 1.0. I can't even recall how many years back I have had history with harvesting both seasons for grapes. I distinctly remember discovering that 1-2 Raven and 3-4 Raven were separate seasons (as far as harvesting was concerned) and upon questioning being told by other "older" grape harvesters that despite being listed in wiki as 1-4Raven we actually did have two 2-week long grape seasons, rather than one 4 week long season. If it was unintentional that this has changed (and I hope it would have been due to the long history of having two seasons and the fact that no other plant has anything close to a 4-week harvest period) I would hope we could get things back to the way they have been in the past. Edit: Hailiah, I also remember awhile ago noticing something seemed off from the wiki list but have since long forgotten what it was...
  14. Thank you so much for the reply, Erik! I wasn't sure if it was necessarily intentional or not. As an OCD decorator I would be forever in your debt if this could be changed
  15. Diagonal Roads

    Very nice work, KunAlt!
  16. One more important use that maybe not everyone has thought of -- Players attaching Farwalker items. (2 of which (stone, twig) players pay 5s each to a trader for.. the amulet was a member gift from 'Santa' in 2007) Hmm... now.. I happen to have an enchanted tree (it's even on deed) that is marked with a farwalker. I've always kept this tree, even though I could have easily gotten rid of it with a willow, just because of its purpose as a farwalker marker. Would I ever spend 5s on one of these items in the future knowing the long regarded best object to attach a farwalker to is no longer relevant? No, I don't think I would. I fail to see how this decision to change enchanted trees came about. Was it because people complained about not being able to remove them (which was never true)? So, enchanted trees *used* to be safe from hatchets *and* freeze the tree growth stage, then the frozen growth stage went away, and *now*.... enchanted trees do..... nothing but match enchanted grass??
  17. Note: This has nothing to do with sickles, or the issue with having to bind the "harvest" action I have noticed for a few grape seasons in a row a problem: a missing "second" season. To make it simple here is the difference: How grape season(s) used to be: -Season listed as 1-4 Raven -however it was effectively two seasons. Those being: 1-2 Raven, and 3-4 Raven What I've noticed is now different: - No "second season" harvest available weeks 3-4 Raven. (for a few seasons in a row now) Also please note well that this past season due to the server reset in week 3 Raven it was possible to get a second harvest. This second harvest was not the result of the "second" grape season. I purposely paid very close attention this season round because of the missing season in the past. There were no new grapes week 3 of Raven prior to the server reset. This was an issue before 1.1 was released. I am pretty sure it changed somewhere 1.0 to 1.1. (I wasn't really up on my grape collecting for awhile before 1.0 so I can't say for certain it couldn't have become a problem then.) Can we *please* get the "second" grape season fixed? I can't see how the old way of having two grape harvests could have been the glitch- given the long history of it's existence. Also, seasons for other harvests are 1-2 weeks long (http://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Seasons). So it always made sense that grape season was actually two 2-week seasons one after another, even though it has always officially been listed "1-4 Raven" This likely also impacts apple season- as it is identical to grape season. I did not get the chance to check the apples though.
  18. No, no no no no.... this has nothing to do with sickles! *sigh*
  19. Yes, currently you need to bind harvest to a key. I'm talking about a separate issue though. That being that essentially there used to be two grape seasons and now there is only one. How I remembered it being (unless I've gone totally nutters): -Season listed as 1-4 Raven -however it was effectively two seasons. Those being: 1-2 Raven, and 3-4 Raven What I've noticed is now different: - No "second season" harvest available weeks 3-4 Raven. (for a couple seasons in a row now) I will note that we did have a server restart in week 3 of Raven that reset the harvest on bushes-- and thus the second harvest we had this 3rd week of Raven is not a "second season" harvest (i.e. - the second harvest was only due to the server reset and not to being available from the season renewing) Seasons for other harvests are 1-2 weeks long (http://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Seasons). So it always made sense that grape season was actually two 2-week seasons one after another, even though it has always officially been listed "1-4 Raven" So, if somehow we have lost a whole season of grape picking in some code change along the way I'm hoping we can get it fixed. Also this would probably have an impact on apple harvesting as well.. but I didn't test apples. Did anyone else?
  20. Diagonal Roads

Yes, just what I was trying to convey (but lack the picture making ability to do myself). Thanks for the new graphic Elias
  21. ohhhh right! Makes more sense now... I'll add it up top
  22. Ok I have to ask here to make sure I've not lost my mind ... Grape season- listed as 1-4 Raven is(was?) actually 2 harvest opportunities. The first in weeks 1-2 and the second in weeks 3-4. However for a second season in a row now it is into weeks 3-4 and I'm not getting any new grapes on my bushes. What is going on here?? Am I crazy? Am I imagining things?.... I'm CERTAIN that I used to get 2 harvests. Anybody else noticing this?
  23. Aether, do you mean pick them up to move them? I believe altars can be pushed/pulled/rotated already.
  24. Diagonal Roads

I would speculate that the "road" is 1 tile wide - even though technically there is paving on two tiles. 1/2tile plus alternating side 1/2 tile in my mind only equals a "road" width of 1. Haven't tried making any diagonal roads yet but I'm assuming you could easily put another "road" up against this to make the "road" 2 tiles wide? ... which... I think would end up using 3 total tiles (eg. in reference to the illustration above fill in the 2nd half of the lower squares and add another half tile below that)
