Even though I didn't get a title, I had fun. If any of you guys flip through the screenshots and see some dude wielding a spyglass, that's me. I'd left my weapons at home, and arrived too late to get a loaner. So I just spent the whole time after trying to hit it healing people

Was great to see people helping others and everything seemed to be fairly well organize. GJ everyone

Whats sad is the people who did listen or a good majority, lost out on it. Whilst the same 30ish ppl keep attacking repeatedly giving those who did listen no chance of gaining a title. First time I've been to a boss killing, will never go again.

it took too long to kill it, it's likely you wouldn't have gotten the title even if you had got a hit/glance/miss on it sometime in the middle of the brawl...

8 rainbow coloured lanterns, thanks to Headhunter - they brightened up the night for Hogwash, Traxx, Widnes, Saroman, Ivansymconia, DrSatan, Tantrum and Cerber.

No, ppl didn't get the title because;

1) They were told if they atk'd without a horse/without a fighting title, they were excluded from the raffle and were to wait until they were told to atk the boss.

2) Whilst the organizers were shouting hit and rotate, people didn't, the majority of the group was people on horseback, due to #1.

3) A handful got bugged.

So all the low-mid and people without horses like myself sat there from a distance like idiots watching the fight happen. It was appallingly managed and thats the main reason I'm angry.

Turani went on KOS spree, added were those that sat there atking the boss for over 5 mins, you might not have gotten the title (due to some bug), but you certainly didn't follow the organizers instructions, and if that upsets you, which is apparent after trying to off-topic my recruitment. Good. Because at least now you'll feel like the other SEVENTY people who sat watching you get your title.

There are still other opportunities to get the giantslayer title. It's not gone for good.

You could improve your chances of scoring a title at any future slayings by getting 70fs so that you have a greater chance of dealing a hit because titles like Fearless, Giantslayer and Dragonslayer are not usually the kind of achievements one would get until they are a higher tier fighter.

The organisers tried to do you a favour by allowing you an opportunity to earn the title with minimal effort early in your characters fighting level. If you didn't earn the title for whatever reason, don't take it out on them or anyone else (including myself) for not receiving something that you clearly did not deserve.

Don't take this the wrong way, I understand why would you be frustrated but mass kos'ing to show your dissatisfaction is not the right thing to do and it does not reflect well upon yourself or the deed you are from.

By allowing entry to all participants regardless of fighting level, I think what Xallo tried to do was allow as many people as possible to try and score the title without risking too many casualties or jeopardising the successful slaying of the kyklops but he may not have expected such a huge turnout.

There was at least 5-10minutes where every player was allowed to jump in and target the kyklops in the beginning, it wasn't until many higher tier fighters couldn't target the creatures that Alyeska requested all lower level fighters to back off AFTER targeting the kyklops. There was a fair chance for everyone to earn the title and there were even players like Nikkunikku who is a higher tier fighter and stayed in the fight the whole time but didn't get the title (bugged?).

One thing that didn't help was people bringing tamed animals into the fight (I noticed a few bears at the event) as they took up a target slot which should have gone to other players.

TL;DR - Everyone was given a fair chance to earn the title because there was a 5-10minute timeframe where everyone was allowed to jump in and attack it.

I don't think it's too fair to take your anger out on the organisers.

A lot of people complain when only higher level fighters are welcomed to participate in unique slayings (which is often what happens). In this case, Xallo made it open to everyone, and you still complain.

Every high level fighter has once been in your position, and for the most part, they would have had to wait their turn and grind their skill until they had enough to successfully participate in such events.

It's not the fault of anyone else that you didn't organise a horse for yourself, or that you have lower fighting skill.

It appears that you feel entitled, when really the organises owe you nothing.

You could have gone in to try to hit the kyklops regardless of what anyone was saying, but you didn't, because you wanted to participate in the raffle that was organised by the same people you are complaining about.

You are upset to people who did get the title - why? Do you believe that if you do not get something, nobody else should get it? Some of the people who stayed the full fight didn't get the title either, and some of the folks who did back out when requested, did get it.

Becuase you're annoyed that you didn't get the title, these people who participated in the slaying listening to the instructions me and Xallo gave, they should be annoyed by something too?

You have interprented the instructions we gave, as organizers, who are now also on kos - outright wrong.

There was no "hit and rotate" rule. We didn't know for sure when the fight started wether it would still give the "too crowded to attack message". We have announced, before the fight even started, that if it did give this message, the people with less than 50 fightskill, and any pets would need to back out - regardless of wether they got any hits in or not. We wanted everyone to have a chance of getting this special title, since there is a very limited opportunity to get it. Hence everybody was invited to the event.

People with over 50 fightskill, with or without horses, were going to stay into the fight until it went down. They were not supposed to back out after a hit!

The "lesser fighters" seemed unwilling to listen - this is becuase there were people -people who were not part of the organization- in local shouting that they had to back out after they got a hit in.

This was not our rule, other people made this up. They were supposed to back out, regardless if they got a hit in or not. You do not need to hit it to get the title, you get it by simply engaging in combat with it. We would also not have been able to kill it if everybody had to back out after a single hit, and we would have had a LOT more casualties than the very few we had. We needed the good fighters to stay in untill the end. If people would've actually backed out right away when asked, we would not have to ask the horseless people to back off halfway during the fight. You did however KOS a lot of folks who did follow our exact instructions, on horseback and with over 50 fightskill.

There are people who backed out of the fight, without getting a hit on it at all, who did get the title. There were also folks who were staying in combat the whole time untill it went down - some of these didn't get the title either. They are not to blame for the lack of titles, but there is simply a bug with it.

If you are kosing people over instructions given by me and Xallo as organizers, you have read our instructions at the event wrong. We told the <50fs folks to back out, hit or not, and everyone else to stay.

I have said in local often enough that the people without getting any hits in also had to back off.

If people would've actually let the instructions to me and Xallo, instead of everyone yelling different things, it would've gone a whole lot smoother. However I am not complaining at all. There is over a 100 people at one tight spot - I have enough experience to know even getting 10 people to listen to you is hard enough. I would even say - spare the couple casualties - that we did an amazing job at jobs. The bugged titles were an annoyance, however, an email has been sent to Rolf about that. It was great to see so many people -allies and ex-enemies alike- joined together on a group effort.

I hate how a few bad eggs can spoil a good event for so many. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It ruins my motivation to organize and prepare another slaying. I really advice anybody who cannot stand people not following instructions, buggy situations, or deaths, not to participate in any event similar to this, for your own sakes.

Genocide here, I can confirm this, I only got the messages, "You try to cut" which was then followed by "The area is too crowded", and I still got the title, I know a friend of mine was getting similar messages, and he didn't receive the title at all.

I'm going to explain my knowledge on kill credit as best I can.

To gain credit for any sort of kill, you MUST hit the target. Targeting and going into combat range will yield the message "You try to <attack> <target>" - this does NOT constitute a hit. Damaging a target is, by the way, not the only thing that counts as a hit. With Spam mode activated, you will see combat messages that would otherwise be hidden; for example, "Your attack glances off of <target>'s armour.". This counts as a hit and is eligible to award you with kill credit.

People that claim they never "hit" Jobs yet got the title might not realize they actually managed a glancing blow.

few days after we zombify that corpse so ppl that were not on for the first kil could get a second chance.

    at the second attempt i got my alt to it since it was on deed and didn't had weps for it(was priest battery alt)so i used his newbie tools as weapons,

i went in equiped with a pickaxe in my left hand and a shovel in the right hand ,think i missed once or no "valid hit" at all but in the end i got the title.

it may be that if there are more than 40 fighters that don't have a title those who attack first and back out might not get the title after the battle end because of a memory cap thingy for counting who fought the unique and is eligible for a title reward.

Now I am going to explain how I see it. I did not get the title.

But.. I had a fun day, I wasn't stuck at my deed doing stuff I can do any day. I was talking and meeting a lot of people.. I had fun, just watching the event. A title is just a word (or two) in front of your name.. It's nothing really..

I also got to witness the event.. That's enough for me.. Why is everyone moaning so much, it's just a title.. and there a lot more "superior" titles, go work on them instead of moaning.
