Posted May 16, 2013 Trees are objects, object will be added in 1.5 (if I will don't have any problems with models, that's why hedges and palisades are not added yet, too).
Posted May 16, 2013 Actually, trees are not exactly objects, but ground tiles with an additional model. So maybe you can squeeze them in as they don't need a change in map data, just in the renderer.
Posted May 16, 2013 (edited) I am trying to run the program on Mac OSX, but have having issues with the display. I have already changed the antialiasing setting down to 8, and I have ensured that I am running the most current version of JRE, but I open the program and try to maximize, I get this: Nothing is being reported in the error log. Despite the visual glitch, I tried to apply ground textures, but it would allow me to add anything to the tiles. Edited May 16, 2013 by Hiro

About Mac - this must be OS-related bug, I am not sure I can do anything with it as I don't have (or know anyone with - in my country Apple computers are very, very rare) Mac to check what's wrong and fix issue. Edit: Another part of testing - I know this is impossible in game, but this is just test: If all goes well - expect update tomorrow. Posted May 16, 2013 (edited) Made just a basic 5x5 complete with roof and it would not tell me materials EDIT: What ever was causing it seemed to stop but it was a stone building with double door at the center of each wall wooden shingle roof and stone slab floor. All the buildings I messed with had these parts but no idea why it stopped happening. EDIT2: Ran into another weird thing with it Edited May 16, 2013 by Rasu
Posted May 16, 2013 Tree type and position on tile must be stored somewhere. Tree type is saved same way as any tile type. you have: dirt tile, grass tile, cobble tile, oak tree tile, cedar tree tile, etc... And tree position is not stored at all, it is just placed client side with a random, fixed seed, noise pattern. At least that's how Wurm handles trees, afaik. Posted May 16, 2013 (edited) I haven't heard anything about the Updater being broken lately, but when I used it to go from 1.3h to 1.4a, it worked fine until I closed it, and got this exception:Exception in thread "Thread-0" java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 26 at Mapper.Graphics.MiscRenderer.renderGroundTile(MiscRenderer.java:67) at Mapper.Graphics.MiscRenderer.renderGround(MiscRenderer.java:54) at Mapper.Graphics.MiscRenderer.update(MiscRenderer.java:20) at Mapper.Mapper.draw(Mapper.java:197) at Mapper.Mapper.loop(Mapper.java:113) at Mapper.Mapper.access$500(Mapper.java:28) at Mapper.Mapper$1.run(Mapper.java:95)It's the first time I've used the updater to actually update. I got an error after loading a map I created with 1.3h and then switching to 3D view:Exception in thread "Thread-0" java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 26 at Mapper.Graphics.MiscRenderer.renderGroundTile(MiscRenderer.java:67) at Mapper.Graphics.MiscRenderer.renderGround(MiscRenderer.java:54) at Mapper.Graphics.MiscRenderer.update(MiscRenderer.java:20) at Mapper.Mapper.draw(Mapper.java:197) at Mapper.Mapper.loop(Mapper.java:113) at Mapper.Mapper.access$500(Mapper.java:28) at Mapper.Mapper$1.run(Mapper.java:95) Edited May 17, 2013 by sfaleron
Posted May 17, 2013 WOW, ver 1.4 is just cool. We can plan complete design of our places now even with possible terrain modifications, thanks.of course I discovered some bug too, sorry Roofs are placed in right height counted from water, but not from bottom of house. So roofs can be in middle of house or even underground. Replace of some variables should correct it, I believe.
Posted May 17, 2013 (edited) Beyond amazing. The 3d view is what really sells me on this. Wplanner was nice and rather full featured, but still flat as can be. The only additions I can see (which i'm sure you have thought of and are working towards) are objects(tokens, towers, barrels, altars, forges, etc) and underground (cave) focus toggle. For many, the cave system is the most complicated stage of planning on deed. Complete with ceiling and floor adjustment and a rough collision detection within cavewalls (3d view) to make 'walking' through them more manageable. A small other idea is tile labels. This mostly comes into play with cave's and veins. Being able to not only put the visual 'iron vein' but also added a parenthesis style(rename) to the view as a way of providing addition information. Ironvein(~8000 ore, 89.33ql). This could also be used on various deed tiles to label meditation path tiles or traps. Just a thought. Does material calculation take into account dirt need (if raising an area) ? If not, this is a very much needed addition to go with v1.4. Need some way to differentiate between natural elevations and raised dirt to ensure accurate measurement. Again, truly amazing work here. A much needed and well constructed addition to the wurm tools collection. Thanks! Edited May 17, 2013 by Seviago

Posted May 18, 2013 Where do I place the linux files and what not to help make this work I see the folder and files but no actually explanation on which folder goes where
Posted May 18, 2013 (edited) You can place program everywhere except your home directory (which is reserved for save/load and settings system). It is ready to work just after unpacking, no install needed, but it must be placed in separate folder. Futhermore, Keldun and other Linux users had this problem: I can't execute it either, but command line works for me: $ java -jar DeedPlanner.jar No install needed btw.
