  1. I am sure the Princes will be helpful in these negotiations for such a valuable service. (kindly reference to typo) =Ayes=
  2. Yes, I think that this new Classified Ad forum is a very good idea and addition to the Freedom Isles Market section. As it is new, it will just take some time for the playerbase to become acquainted with it and see the advantages of posting within this section. Also a clarification statement at the top of this forum would be helpful as well. =Ayes=
  3. Thank you Rolf for removing (almost) the mine destroying mob tunneling AI from the game. I am sure this is appreciated by anyone who spends even a brief amount of time mining or wandering through mines in search of mobs to kill. Now until you code a way for us to repair all these destroyed mine floors, I would suggest that you make it a policy that GM's will be available to repair all these destroyed mine floors whenever called upon by players reporting this problem in a mine. Yes, this policy of making GM's available for repairing mine floors will take time away from their other work; however, since the players did not create this destruction and we have no way to repair it, I think this is the only available option at present to remove all this damage from the game world. If and when this goes into effect, a note on the News login screen would be a most effective way to inform the playerbase that they now have this option available to them. As these mine floors are repaired by GM's over time, the time taken away from their other work will lessen and they will then be able to respond to other issues more effectively. Thank you. =Ayes=
  4. To state that this newly instituted mob attack behavior is a good change because it makes the game more challenging and less boring is more a statement of ones own personal viewpoint. I am in no way bored by playing Wurm nor do I find crazed mobs attacking my horse to be challenging. If one is bored or not challenged by playing Wurm, then I suggest through their own efforts they find ways within this game to achieve those results rather than support a change that makes the game more of a hassel for others to play for their own benifit. =Ayes=
  5. Well if this change applies only to attacking horses that are being ridden instead of our cart pulling animals, it seems to me to not be as bad a situation as I had envisioned. As for only "starving" creatures attacking ridden horses, I rarely see any of these rampaging brutes that are not at "starving" status, perhaps only the newly spawned young ones. Still, I don't quite get the benifit to the game playerbase to have their ridden animals attacked and damaged in this manner. =Ayes=
  6. Picking Up Bins

Yes Ping, you understand my motivations and concerns precisely. As exemplified by the following response: The helpful suggestion to make them plantable would prevent them from being looted from off deed locations where they were placed to be of use to other players, so I would support that idea. Also making them weigh 50.00 kg would reduce looters tendency to make off with them over long distances. At least they can't be loaded onto carts and boats for those inclined to go on a bin grabbing spree over vast areas, which tends to make me think that at least there was some thought put into the negative consequences of "free empty off deed bins for all!" And lets not add to the problem by making forges and ovens pickupable, as others (and myself) have built these in public mines and areas for the convenience of other players to use. I can see the thought popping up into someones head now; "Ohhh, 70 QL forge, score!" *snatch* Or if the clay pit has been deeded over in your area and you need a forge or oven, no problem, just grab one that someone else has made instead of going through the hassel of making one. To reiterate my point, if the off deed bins that I have made and stocked with fuel and resources to be of help to other players are taken from their locations, I won't be replacing them and in the long run I won't be the one on the losing end of this situation. Perhaps there are too few players that do the same for it to be of any concern to them. =Ayes=
  7. Yea, that was his point, the gator hides. =Ayes=
  8. Picking Up Bins

Yes Wiro, I can simply lock up bins that are off deed and no one can then take them but that defeats the purpose for which we are building them, to help other players out with access to materials. I can and will stop making them for use by others as I have described in my post if they are taken by selfish people and it will really not be my loss for doing so. Blizzerd it is much easier for someone to simply empty a bin and walk off with it than it is for them to make 25 planks, 1 iron ribbon, 4 large nails and then take the time to apply them to build the bin. There is a lot of labor involved there, not to mention the time that needs to be taken to obtain the materials. Also, an empty bin only weighs 20.00k (same as rock shard or dirt), so even a new palyer can carry at least 1 and their gear. Well I have said my piece on it, so we will see how it all turns out but I predict many "helpful" bins will wander off to new destinations and not be replaced for others convenience. =Ayes=
  9. Bad change to have aggro's attacking untamed horses. Many people are using their horse pulled carts going about their peaceful way and now aggro's will be attacking and possibly killing their venerable cared for horses? I say NEIGH!! Please revert this and stop messing with us peacenik's who merely want to go about our business unaccosted by these demented, rampaging beasties. =Ayes=
  10. Picking Up Bins

So, I confirmed that we can now pick up Food Storage Bins and Bulk Storage Bins. Is this really a wise change? I think not and here is why. I sometimes build bulk storage bins off deed and drop supplies in there for others to use with an oven and forge next to them, or in mines with scraps and other fuel in them for use by anyone. With this change anyone can just take the items out, drop them on the ground, pick up the bin and be on their merry way. Filling it with 100's of scraps is no preventative solution, as the person could just take out say 50 at a time, combine them and drop them on the spot. Then when bin is empty just walk off with it. Seems not the best of ideas to make this bin pickup change, as if the bins that people make to store items to be of use to others off deed are able to be freely taken by anyone; then those helpful people who make and stock these bins will eventually give up doing so. Better to only make bins be able to be picked up on deed by the usual suspects and eliminate off deed pickup of bins, or if this is not an option then just set them back to non-pickup as they have always been. I am kind of puzzled by the logic of this change considering the negative impact of the taking of off deed bins made by others for helpful reasons. =Ayes=
  11. Well yes, the Epic servers do offer a nice attraction and option for new players to raise their skills much faster but when one has been playing for some years and has skills at a level that they would have to put a years time into Epic to achieve, that benifit is nullified. What is left then is the pvp option, which offers many more negatives than positives to PvE players. =Ayes=

  13. Well this is a interesting topic but I would prefer it just be titled "The Wonders of Wurm", as the player built villages are what I find of greatest interest and I admire the work that has been put into the creation of the more grandiose of them. I would say that Ultimarus and Exiles gate both fall into that catagory nicely and inspire many players to the possibilities of village creations within Wurm. I am sure that there are many more such as these but as I prefer to stay close to home, I have not seen them in person. =Ayes=
  14. An interesting update. I wonder at the reasoning for adding this /release option and how many will actually bother with using it, as well as for what reasons. Time will tell, as it marches on. =Ayes=
  15. Touchmee, I will say that the only thing that really impressed and surprised me about my time spent playing on an Epic server, was that there were a lot of really nice people playing there (yourself among them). This is the only aspect of playing there that I would consider a loss for not continuing to play there but it is not enough to entice me to return. =Ayes=
  16. Same ole', same ole'. First off, in the 2 online games that I have played extensively, WoW and Ultima Online, that have offered both PvE and pvp game play, the game population has always vastly over the majority prefered the PvE option and has avoided the pvp aspect. The pvp aspects of these games are much more interesting, offer more options and bells and whistles that Wurm will most likely ever offer, thus there is no real motivation for anyone who enjoys pvp to choose Wurm over those 2 games and the majority of people who enjoy pvp play those games (and I am sure others that I am not aware of). Secondly, I premium'd an alt on an Epic server and spent a great deal of time there building my little defensive enclosure but the same thought kept creeping into my head: "Why am I wasting time here on a character with inferior skills to my main character on Inde, when all that I have and will build here can be destroyed by other players?" Finally I decided to stop wasting my time there and quietly left without a word to anyone about it. I am sure many others have done the same thing and you will never know about it. I also briefly even made a deed there and disbanded it several weeks later because I don't fancy paying RL coins to hand out to others for destroying the work I have put the time and effort into creating. Dosen't seem to make much sense to me when in contrast I can create deeds on the Freedom servers that will last for years to come that will not finance others gameplay through their destruction. Even games that offer pvp do not let other players take RL money out of the pockets of others to finance their gameplay and even sell for RL money as well, which in turn makes Wurm pvp an even less attractive option. I think there is no mystery as to why only a small percentage of the Wurm population chooses to play on the Epic servers and that it will remain that way. The reasons I have stated above are some basic ones as well as the fact that I simply don't enjoy pvp with other people. Can't think of anything more boring to do really. When people are given the option between PvE and pvp you will see the same results, so you won't really change anyones mind about going to the Epic servers by inquiries such as the title of this post topic. Just enjoy your gameplay on the Epic servers but I would advise you to not be surprised that the vast majority of the Wurm playerbase will not be joining you there anytime soon. =Ayes=
  17. I think the game developer has the right to moderate all the chat options in game in whatever way they see fit. If the moderation gets too severe they will just shoot themselves in the foot, loosing paying customers. If I want to say anything that I consider of a private nature, I am certainly not going to print it into words to be recorded into posterity within a online game. Also, I don't get into verbal abusive contentious confrontations with people within online games, so I have little concern that my words are moderated or recorded in any fashion. =Ayes=
  18. Well although I am very disturbed by all the ruined mines created by this senseless mine tunneling mob AI, I am not in favor of removing dragons or items created from them. A better approach would be to just let people pen them up anywhere and don't make that into an issue connected to these destructive mine tunneling creatures, as this just creates a distraction from removing this mine tunneling mob AI. By the way, I don't own any scale armor. And now a way for us to repair all this mine floor destruction is an even larger issue that needs to be resolved way before any rare dragon spawns are given a second thought in comparison. =Ayes=
  19. Ok, I see that the wiki states that the yields at various levels are "guaranteed" but as this is obviously wrong from our experience, the wording should be changed in the Wiki. The simplest change to the Wiki would be to substitute the word "generally" for "guaranteed" as there are various factors that effect crop yields which can't be quantified with specificity. =Ayes=
  20. Actually I was under the impression that this was fixed (sort of) in that tunneling creatures could no longer create drop shafts nor tunnel on deed tiles. Beyond that though, I continue to support the idea that this tunneling creature AI should TOTALLY be removed from the game. And beyond the beyond, we need a way to repair all these insane drop shafts and floor slopes they have created in our mines that we have put many hours into creating with care as to their access and appearance. This was a colossal blunder on Rolfs part in coding this tunneling mob AI into the game that has ruined areas of countless mines. In the area I live in on Independence I could take Rolf on a tour of every off deed mine there and show him this severe damage to the mine floors. This is no isolated instance effecting a few mines here and there. To Be Continued..... =Ayes=
  21. Although I agree with Joedobo that creating a larger farm for increased harvests is better than micro-managing crop tending, I think Crowbarella is just expressing disappointment that after reaching 90 farming skill, crop yields can still be at under 9 per field. Still, I have never seen it stated or implied that a 9 crop yield was "guaranteed" at 90 or over skill level. =Ayes=
  22. While it might be interesting to discuss and dissect the concept of transportation costs for bulk goods in Wurm; in the end I don't think you are going to establish and base costs, nor learn much more that you can just by browsing previous posts wherein players have included their shipping costs in that post. Beyond that, players will always be undercutting others shipping rates in conjunction with their need to sell whatever bulk goods they need to move at the time based upon their need for the income they will generate. This points me to the conclusion that transportation of bulk goods within Wurm by ship will always remain a minor and unstable part of the sale of those items and thus something that can not accurately be assessed in anything other than a very broad basis. Your title implying that it is a campfire discussion seems fitting though. =Ayes=
  23. Tower Guards

My understanding and experience from building a number of guard towers is that tower guards arrive shortly after its creation at 1 guard per 10 QL of the tower. As the tower is imped up another guard will arrive at each 10 QL of the tower up to a maximum of 5 guards for that tower. The above is on Independence and Deliverance servers (from my personal experience); however, I know nothing about how it works on Elevation, so I can't comment on that. =Ayes=
  24. Tizzy, I would like to purchase the following item: Grooming Brush 22ql coc65 =75 copper Please send CoD to my Alt named Zen on Deliverance. Thank you. =Ayes=
  25. Well, being that my main deed is 3/4 surrounded by palisade walls and I am letting them all decay to replace with better QL ones (much faster than repairing and imping them), I would much prefer a material reduction to 5 trees and 5 logs. Doubt it will ever happen though. =Ayes=
