  1. Thatch can be troublesome, imping the thatched roofs proved to be quite useful in accelerating this after I was able to place one.
  2. Hi guys, one of your local new settlers in the game here. Soooo I was playing on Epic and I thought to myself about food. . .what if there was a feature build for cooking called a SMOKE HOUSE? Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I figure it's worth posting about. I imagine a small 1x1 kind of shack that would host a campfire/stone rig inside, hooks from the top that would show the meat when you placed/equipped it in the structure. It would require, coal to fuel, water for steam, and select woods fuel to smoke the foods. (Possibly utilize salt as well to "cure" the meats) Now what would be the benefit of all of this? It would be able to allow a reason to smoke foods in order to preserve them for a longer period of time. (Example, traveling long distances, shipping, storage, battles, sieges.) You could also allow the ability to dry foods in there as well with a slightly altered recipe, no water and more coal. Of course these items would not be as nutritious as other more complex recipes but perhaps this could be a feature that the community may be interested in? Idk Just been thinking while I've been scavenging. ~Riddles "Hi, I'm new here."
  3. This excites me beyond belief. These cats are one of the few reasons I found and learned about this game. Their channel has been both informative and entertaining as they help illustrate what Wurm is about. I know there are a couple of others I have ran across who also produce similar content. Your hard work and style Factional Fight is much appreciated, welcome back and perhaps I will visit you on Xanadu. ~Riddles "Hi, I'm new here."
  4. Umm.. so with everyone saying that the team needs to advertise. . . why don't the ones concerned with Population issues advertise themselves? Tell a friend, blog, write reviews of what you ENJOY about it (dont complain, that doesnt make positive influence). Make videos, stream, etc. That is one of the ways I heard about it. Was from other actual players. And it was very helpful as I hone the style I wish to play. I enjoy danger, high risk and high reward, so PVP servers seem to be more my fancy. But for those who just like to build and socialize the PVE servers look beautiful. I personally think there should be more pop on the PVP as it seems to create an even more unique atmosphere. PVE seems more for the casual or don't wish to be bothered players imo. (no offense builders love to you all ;)) I've played many many many sandbox games, including medieval themed ones I have worked with other dev teams and staffed servers for games like Wurm. But, Wurm is very unique and I have been nothing but impressed with it. The ultimate factor I have been amazed with is the community. The ones who appear to be quite helpful. That is much appreciated. As for the naysayers, I feel perhaps you got a little burned out? Or perhaps you are expecting something trendy like FPS sandbox? In short, for all those that have persevered and have worked diligently to make this game what it is (past and present), I thank you. It's been quite the beautiful experience and I will continue to explore and adventure this glorious and unique world that is Wurm. ~Riddles "Hi, I'm new here."
  5. Well, I for one am new here. Loving the game thus far. Quite the underrated game I must say. I survived a mine cave in and much much more as I chose a PVP server (I wont say which one ) to pretty much start on (not counting my Xanadu character that I goofed the name on) My neighbors have been very kind and helpful in the kingdom I chose. Now that I think I have a slight hang of things, I re-rolled my character and I think I'm ready to go out into the world to make some silver on Xanadu. Riddles, coming to a village near you.
