Realtalk: Soul Depth/Soul Strength/Milking question

Recommended Posts

I hear Magranon only needs to worry about Soul Strength,.

I hear Soul Depth helps cast power and Soul Strength (Along with channeling) helps with cast success.

The wiki doesn't explain it all that well. What do soul depth and soul strength REALLY do?

As far as milking goes, will CoC on a bucket help milking skillgain?

My understanding is that soul depth is magical power, as you said, affects the power of the cast while soul strength is your magical defence and helps deflect/reduce/negate the effect of an enemy cast on you.

Wow, that makes soul strength pretty useless on freedom.  :-X

I have played on a 30 soul depth priest/champ with no soul strength

and also a priest with 30+ in both,

Both definitely have an impact on casting.

But how? Cast strength, cast damage, cast success?

The wiki doesn't explain it as the truth is noone knows, apart from Rolf if he looks into the code and reveals all which he hasn't and most likely won't, so any findings are from player experience only. ;) The split of importance between strength/depth/channeling (E.g 60% channeling 20% depth 20% strength) or if one of the stats only applies to certain priests is unknown.
