Spears and Shields (I wanna be a Spartan for real real)

Historically Spear and Shield have been wielded together. A spear can be wielded with 2 hands, but they have always seen more effectiveness when wielded behind a shield wall. 
I suggest making the Spear weapon a "versatile" weapon, that can be wielded either two-handed or single handed when equipped with a shield.
To balance, the damage output for the spear when wielded with a shield can be reduced by 5% or so, and put a limit to the size of shields that can be used with a spear to Small and Medium shields.






(While we are here... can we also get Makers Marks of Staffs. They still currently have no markers mark. I have 2 Rare Staffs, one Seryll and one Silver, that I have personally created and have the Dragon Staff skin, and it would be amazing if my Makers Mark were on them.)

Granted just spears and shields would be nice. In fact it also would be a way to give medium and small shields more utility versus huge.
