  1. Ok folks this is just a bit too much guessing going on for me. We have the flag for a virus coming up, and when starting the launcher the "Downloading graphics.jar 100%" stops at this point and the play button is still greyed out. I have read the suggested work around on how to get past this point. The question is, do I want to get past this point? I am not so sure I do, and there is too much at stake considering the virus threat. Given that these two issues pop up together makes me very cautious. I will be looking for a definitive statement from staff informing us there is either "no threat" associated with the launcher or the "threat has been neutralized" before signing into the game. Just not willing to take the chance given the nature of the threat, and the lack of information we have. Looking forward to a positive conclusion...thank you and goodnight
  2. Thank you Enki, and for what it is worth the full system scan detected no threat on my pc. I am a little foggy on the time line though and not even sure my pc, or my wife's, was exposed to the threat. My wife was just signing on when I read the message, but had not started the game as she was waiting for the launcher to finish downloading files. Needless to say we did not launch the game. Will be patiently waiting as you guys do what you need to do. Thank you
  3. I have a fresh install of BitDefender2012, as of yesterday, and have been off and on the game a couple of times today with no warnings. Running a full system scan now after reading this. Will post results when finished. I know the management of this game will take this seriously and respond appropriately. Please make sure this is one "issue" that will be supported with official follow up as to the "current" efforts being made to correct this problem. IF indeed there is a problem and it is not just a false positive virus detection. And for the record: THANK YOU for the twitter post! ;D That is how I got the heads up. I would rather be made aware and be cautious than be unaware an get hammered.
  4. When the player base experiences problems like yesterday, as in when the servers are down for such a long time, is there any official communication tool for informing the player base as to the problem experienced? Nothing technical or involved is needed just a brief update as to what happened. I would think it would be courteous, and appropriate, for the community to be given the correct information in order to foster understanding and support. Fairly new here so just trying to get a feel for the standards and general practices I can expect going forward. If I have missed the official informational thread please forgive me. For the record, in my short couple of months of being here the "uptime" of the servers has been exceptional. But if information can be disseminated without a major drain on staff time, then the benefits of doing so can only be positive for all participants. Thank you And by the way the occasional communication on twitter was a very nice tool to keep us informed as to current events. Thank you to whom ever it was that was kind enough to send out the tweets.
  5. I have been booted three times so far tonight. Others have mentioned being booted in KChat also.
  6. Awesome! Just awesome ;D Thank you for this very thoughtful addition of the timers Budda. Thank you also Girlinhat for posting this brief but handy little guide
  7. For what it is worth department: Lag is horrendous on my end. For me, after close to 8 hours of down time with the servers being down, the game is not playable. This location is USA Pacific Northwest for the record, another alliance mate in my area reported that same issue however players in Russia, and Australia were not having any lag. *shrugs* Chat would take up to three seconds to post after hitting enter, I would watch my inventory transfers start, stop, start and tick down one at a time slowly, and I will not even start in on driving a cart and horses lol. Anyway tomorrow is another day where things will hopefully get better Like I said...for what it is worth...I will check this tomorrow to see if more information is desired. Thanks
  8. For what it is worth: My coastal deed was cluttered by abandoned ships. Some of which were directly in the way of deed improvements I wanted to perform, and some just an eyesore. Corbitas with approximately half of the length of their ship sitting on top of the dock blocking visuals, others sitting under water due to lack of maintenance. In general long gone players with ships left behind, or players that have not even looked at their vessel in the months since I have had the deed. In every case a polite request via the help desk has resulted in the removal of said vessels. We are not talking immediate but most definitely in a timely manner. The response from the game team has been courteous, professional, and appreciated by me. Having said that I would like to point out that deed holders on coastal property are powerless to control the land they have purchased and pay to maintain. Or specifically the deed tiles underwater. A deed owner/mayor can usually restrict and control any structure on their deed. And correct me if I am wrong for I have not actually done this, but a mayor can bash down any offending structure they may have on their deeds correct? Not the case on the coastline. Anyone that wants to can plant a structure/vessel anywhere they want to, at any time they want to, and leave it there for as long as they want to. Thankfully most people are considerate of the deed holder’s needs and desires. They ask and do not assume, but that is not the case all the time by a long shot. I only mention this because as my first deed I wanted to be on the coastline. I assumed I would have the same control exercised by my previous village mayor over the deed I was part of. Well it was my assumption, and my noob mistake, and I am living with it. But if anything the powers of the deed holder should be increased not diminished. At least the person that has invested the silver, the work, and the pride in their coastal deed should have the same level of control any inland deed holder has over their property. How this is done in a balanced way to best reflect this amazing game we are part of will take some effort I am sure. But the issue of control a coastal deed holder has over their deeded tiles really needs to be addressed. If it had been addressed in the beginning at least one specific line of the patch notes would not even be listed, nor an issue needing to be resolved. Thanks

  12. Ah haha very nice information...thank you The oddity still persists on this one though with me being able to improve the lamp while the "frozen" state is being reported. But I will most certainly use the player SOP on improving lamps from this point forward Thanks again
  13. Have been fighting this one off and on since I started the game. You pull an Iron Lamp from the forge to your inventory. Instantly it changes from "glowing from heat" to "It is Frozen". Then the "lit" description changes back and forth without any rhyme or reason that I can discern. But tonight is the real kicker concerning this problem. In frustration I performed the called for improvement function on the "frozen" iron lamp...and it worked Not only did it work that time, but continued to work for the next five minutes or so. From a 5 ql start up to 21.78 when I decided to stop and post this comment. I even tempered it while frozen Anyway for what it is worth there you have it. I personally fight this every time I create and improve Iron Lamps. This is after they have been mounted on a log by the way. You are most likely aware of this anyway but thought I should report it after being able to work with the item in a "frozen" state for the first time. Thank you
  14. Job well done folks...very impressive location and layout! Way to easy to spend my coin though ;D
