Piles exceeding 100 items

There are multiple reports in this thread of piles exceeding 100 items.  We have a bug opened for this, but I'd like to consolidate all the reports in one thread if we can.

Earlier today i had this happen to me and I'm reporting this to stop other players from exploiting/hiding items in a small area


 


How I happened I was picking up and combining on 1 character and digging on another both had the pile open I picked up all the clay on 1 character and the other had a pile of items window with nothing inside when I droped the clay on the other character not into the window it made anew pile on the same tile this happened again with out noticing and I had 3 piles on 1 tile 2 empty when I tried to put clay into the empty piles it would go into the 3rd pile over 100 items up to 400 before I picked up all of the clay and returned to deed


 


Also the first character had multiple clay tabs in their inventory here is a picture of the piles/inventory after I closed 1 it appears that a character is "holding" a pile in their inventory that also appears on the the ground allowing that players to put items on the ground into the empty pile

The top clay is not in the tools tab

Odd, Another odd thing is when I cross servers sometimes my keys get un satcheled and I have a stack of 250+ keys inside my inventory lol well over the limit cor inventory.

I remember when I last played (two years ago) this was very common..... And a lot of people knew about it.  Was it fixed at some point and now happening again?

A common way how this often seems to happen is if I am grinding locksmithing and I have, say, 100 backpacks each filled with 100 lockpicks. I drop the 100 backpacks on the same tile. Over time, the backpacks decay faster than the lockpicks, dropping them on the tile. Result is an eventual 10.000 item pile of lockpicks. I personally never really saw it as a bug cause I kind of expected this behaviour (what else is suppose to happen, my lockpicks dissapearing with the bags?) but seeing this topic, I figured Ill add to it.
