Note you cannot do this any more since the updated last week for a potential exploit was combining non rare items with rares to get huge chances of making a rare item.

The lump on auction here is made only from rare iron ore drops and combining them,  creating Items from rare lump is not an exploit.

There is no reliable data to support that using a rare material for creation improves the base chance of creating a rare. The only material confirmation for rarity is the last bit of the material having a chance to impart rarity when totally consumed.

The only thing this is sure to do is make items created from it 1ql higher, and a low chance to impart rarity with the last amount.
