Southern and Eastern tile borders are not part of a deed underground

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm experiencing a weird bug.

My own deed. Underground. All border tiles of my deed are reinforced and I'm trying to build a fence around them.

A fence can be built right next to a reinforced tile only when on deed. When off deed, there must be at least 1 tile of free space in-between.

I am able to build fences on the Northern and Western borders of my deed.

So far so good.

But for some reason, I am not allowed to do the same on the Southern and Eastern borders.

If a GM or a developer is interested, I can show them the location.

Edit: On the surface, all 4 cardinal directions seem to be working perfectly fine.

I mean building restrictions apply only underground, you can build freely on the surface, but at least on the surface even Southern and Eastern border tiles are still considered to be part of the deed (no decay of these fences when upkeep is higher than 30 days).

Added better clarification and a drawing.

It may be something to do with old mechanics, there was always something about the Northwest corners.  Using a Sculpting wand for example targeted that area of a tile.  It's always been wonky.

That said, Wurm is matured and I'd think this shouldn't happen.

I see, interesting.

It looks like the Southern and Eastern tile borders of the deed border tiles are (for some reason) not considered to be part of the deed, at least underground. Such a weird inconsistency.

Every tile is referenced in the database by its NW corner, I think the mechanics count the border according - so that E and S borders are counted as part of the next tile (should be considered as part of deed anyway so I suppose it is a bug).

Definitely.

I added a drawing to the original post for better clarification.
