Well, I'm new (three days!) and I've already been killed by unkillable spiders and hellhounds. The hellhound in particular, I see it and suddenly it blinks from where it is to half the distance away from me. At that point I turn and run but I'm dead inside ten seconds and back at Green Dog with nothing. Nice, very nice. Blah To the 'suck it up princess' crowd, a little sympathy to the new kids, okay? I have a mallet and a carving knife. I'm wearing the rags I dropped into Green Dog with. It would be kind of nice *to be able to get away*, you know? At least the chance of it, the faintest breath of hope.

Hiya! I'm a new player. Three days old in fact and having a blast. And this is just so weird because I am actually standing next to this big, mosty built ship called the "Tegatanic" that appears to be either near or at your port. I passed Captain's Hideaway to get here, chopped down a tree for kindling on the ridgeline (sorry! it didn't have a name on it), fished in the lake/inlet thing and tonight's plan is to figure out how to cook said fish using aforementioned kindling for a fire. This shall likely happen right next to the big boat. I've never done anything like this before - are there rules to village-dom? Do I have to sign a charter, give up rights to my little anvil, promise not to kill any more trees within a thirty tile radius? I'm curious but willing, since my big plan was mostly to head west until I hit the ocean and then re-evaluate the plan. Character name is Rahain if that helps. Not sure how to talk to anybody not in my /local radius.
