One man outpost.

Recommended Posts

In the middle of the lands, by the Whitelight and the Altar of Three, Stood a outpost. It wasen't always a outpost though. It was once a village but the name of the village was lost long ago, in the early years of the first people of the jenn kellon lands. It was once a ruin, of falling tall stone walls,  broken houses and infestations of various creatures most of which were dogs and black wolfs. But one day centuries after its fall a single man walked into the ruined settlement and begain to rebuild it by himself. The walls repaired and improved beyond what they once were, houses built, forges and ovens made, paths paved.

The one who rebuilt this place was a man named Corvan.

Corvan was a man who perfered the peacefulness of being alone. For many annoyed him and he was doing no good with were he was So he set out on his own with a cart and what ever he could stock it with. For many years now Corvan has lived in this outpost all by himself maintaining it and keeping the general area clear of almost everything but a few creatures. In all the years he has lived in this area, Various people have walked unkowningly to their deaths. Corvan told them to leave and they did not, so they were killed, their heads cut from the bodies and put on stakes near a road as a sign not to leave the road. Corvan also did not care for the war that was going on, but he still prayed to Magranon everyday, and yet even with his sinful deeds, Magranon accepted his prayers and sacrifies. Why the god accepted them, Corvan may never know and honestly liked it that way.

His reputation has grown to be a ruthless social outcast. Which is probably true, or is just misunderstood. But this is his story and his life.

(decided to bring out some of my roleplaying and see were i can go with it. Some of you on here are very very good with your stories. probably been doing this longer then I have. but if ya wanna comment by all means go ahead :D))

Waking up early in the morning as Corvan did every day. He picked up his huge axe and went outside the walls to cut down a tree, or so he thought. Not but twenty feet out from the southside gate, was a roaming Huge Spider. Corvan backed off back into the gate and sat there watching the spider move around, "good..it didn't see me.." Corvan thought to himself, as he set down his large iron shield and his longsword. Grabbing his bow out of the coffin next to the gate. Luckly all he needed was the short bow. Notching an arrow Corvan opened the gate just slightly and let the arrow fly and struck the spider in its left side. Suddenly the spider rushed at the gate, as Corvan barely managed to close it in time. Grabbing his large sheild and longsword, Corvan kicked the gate open seeing the spider fall due to the sudden lack of surface and started to cut and stab at it.

As strong as the spider was it eventually stopped moving. Checking to see if the Huge Spider was dead, Corvan poked it with his sword..nothing. Turning his back to get his butchering knife, Corvan was suddenly stuck flat on his stomach, blood pouring all over him as the spider he thought was dead had faked its death and attacked him one final time.  Struggling Corvan thrashed under the heavy creature. Two thuds sounded not but a inch from his exposed neck. Seeing the fangs of the spider stuck in paved road, Corvan pushed out in front of him sliding out from under it, Corvan quickly got to his feet and jumped on the back of the Spider, feeling the stiff short black blood slicked hair of it, Corvan reached for its head and got a grip on it and slowly twisted against the muscles of the creature. Suddenly the creature slumped, moving quickly, Corvan grabed his sword and began to stab the creature in the head over and over till it was just a bloody mesh of flesh and blood.

" Get up now..' Corvan said to the dead body before kicking the corpse. Walking back into the safety of his home, Corvan dropped off his equipment off by his bed "ill clean that later.." He said to himself  as he walked off the lake and cleaned the blood off of him.

After the hours of cleaning and resharpening his sword, getting the arrow out of the Spider and cutting up the spider for meat. It was close to mid day already. Looking over a small stone wall, Corvan checked the crops and seeing that they didn't need any tending too, Went off into his food storage and started to load up his cart with various veggies, fruits, cotton, wheat, and barely. Dragging the cart down to his own personal armory, Corvan pulled out a fresh set of boiled harden leather that had various sets of studs in it. Pulling out his Iron Longsword, Short bow and a quiver of arrows, and several small daggers. Corvan walked out of the main gate and make sure his place was locked down, and then started the three hour walk towards the trading outpost.

About an hour into the trip Corvan caught the sounds of iron on iron. "huh..someone is fighting.." looking around trying to catch sight of the fight, Corvan caught notice of a Whitelighter in a heated duel with a Blacklighter. "this should be interesting.." Corvan said quietly. Turning his cart and getting out to logs to make sure the wheels didn't move, Corvan took a seat at the edge of the cart and watched the battle insue. Eating into a apple as the battle continued, eventually the Blacklighter got a hand up, by driving his shield forward against the Whitelighter sword eventually knocking him down. Not able to see so much or hear, Eventually the Blacklighter caught sight of Corvan started to charge forward shield and sword in hand.

Corvan shook his head his head nad lazily picked up the short bow he brought with him and notched one of the arrows to the string. he did not pull it yet as he waited for the charging Blacklighter to start charging up the hill. Just as he lost sight, Corvan drew back the bow to full lenght and waited just off the Cart. Paitencely he waited, The moment he caught sight of the Blacklighter, Corvan let the arrow fly. Hearing a sharp cry of surprise and then a gurgling sound of pain as the blacklighter fell backwards sliding down the hill. Shaking his head some Corvan then tossed the bow back into the Cart and walked over to the dieing Blacklighter.

((Shall continue soon hehehe..leave all in suspence :P))

Holding his Iron Longsword in his hands, Corvan stared down at the Blacklighter for only a few seconds before shrugging and walking off twoards the dead body of the Whitelighter. Seeing that the person was still alive, Corvan drove his sword into the ground. Turning over the body and seeing the face of a boy, no older then 18. "To few summers..and winters for you.." Corvan said to himself. Looking down Corvan can see the fear in his eyes and then spoke to him. "Do you know who i am boy.." Corvan asked him. The boy only nodded, "good..What is your name.." Coughing up some blood the boy only managed to say "Alen.." And the life from his eyes faded. Shaking his head some, Corvan started to search the body, Finding some copper coins a short sword and a small Iron Shield a few feet away. The armor Alen wore was terrible at best and so Corvan left it, and left the body for the creatures to feed on.

Carrying the sword and shield with him, Corvan tossed the two items into the cart and turned back to the Blacklighter, seeing him still alive somehow. Kneeling down next to him and stared into the pericing yellow eyes. "You will make a good head trophy.." Corvan said to the blacklighter. "Now..what is your name.." Only a chunk of blood came out of his mouth as the blacklighter spit at Corvan and getting him on the face. "Alright..fine..ill do this the fun way." Grabbing his sword Corvan then started to push the sword into the blacklighter hands. Hearing his gurgling screams before he managed to say " Its Veck!" Though it was all gurgled, Corvan got what he said. Pulling his sword out and stabbing it into the ground, Corvan took a seat next to Veck. "Well Veck..good bye.." Corvan then reached over and ripped out the arrow in Vecks throat, and whipped the blood off of it.

Picking up his sword Corvan then took one powerful swing and cut Vecks head clean off. Walking besides the road Corvan made a wooden stake about five feet high, and then put the head of Veck on it. Showing that it was him who killed the Blacklighter. Looking out over to were Alen lay, or were he was. Raising a brow Corvan noticed that the body was goneand started to look around some. Soon enough though Corvan understood why the boy wore such ragged clothing. He was a traveling preist, and judging from the robes, he was one of Fo's preist.

Shrugging, Corvan then turned back and searched Vecks headless body. Finding a pouch of Copper and some silver, along with two small axes, One longsword and a medium sized shield of Iron. "hmm..ill get these checked out later for any sort of enchaments." Looking the armor over and seeing only scuffs, Corvan them removed the Leather armor Veck wore, leaving only the cloth he had on under before kicking the headless body down the hill and tossing the armor into the cart as well. making sure the stake pole and the head were both secured, Corvan grabbed the handles of his cart and started to pull it along once more headed for the Trading Outpost.

A hour or so later and with no further Incident, Corvan walked into the bustling Trading Outpost. Probably the biggest outpost in all the of wilds, and also the most active. Everyday People of Jenn Kellon come from all over the provinces and factions, Commoners and noblemen alike. Anything and everything was traded here, From simple foods to full sets of Armor, and even gold and silver trinkets.

Walking past the guards of the mainentrance with more then a understanding nod. Corvan visted the Outpost once a week, same day and usually to sell his crops he constently harvests. Finding a empty stall, Corvan pulled up his cart to the side and pulled away the sign saying Unoccupied.

Not but twenty seconds after the sign went away, a Nobleman walked up to the stall. Corvan didn't even bother looking at the man as he started to fill up the boxes with Corn, Potatos, pumpkin, Onions and Garlic. Hearing a cough, Corvan looked up and said " Not open yet..come back in a few minutes." Going back to his stocking, he heard the cough again and then walked around to get face to face with the nobleman. " Is there something you want? " Corvan asked him. The Nobleman looked up at him and said " You can't sell your goods in this stall, its already been taken" Tilting his head to the side, Corvan smirked some. "So..im supposed to packed up and find another stall then?" Seening the Nobleman grin and say " Thats excatly what your going to do right now commoner" Corvan stopped short of going back to work on preparing his stall for selling and turned around looking down at him. "Whats your name.." Corvan asked. The Nobleman then straightend his silk outfit and proudly stated. " I am the Nobleman  Deave, of a long history of rich traders and land owners. " Nodding slowly to statement Deave made, Corvan then started to walk forward twoards Deave. "And i am Corvan, hermit of the forests around the Alter of Three, Killer of those who apose me, A Former fighter of JK and a Faithful follower of Magranon The Warrior. And you Deave..will leave me alone now before i take my sword and cut your head off and stake it outside these walls.." Deaves face was of pure shock and terror. Watching Deave walk away very fast if not almost run was amusing, before Corvan went back to finishing up stocking the wooden boxes with various foods, even putting down the small shield and short sword he had claimed off of Alen's body not but a few hours eariler.

Sitting down in the stool in the middle of stall, Corvan sat and waited for his usual customers and hoped for more with the weapon and shield sitting out for sell. "This is gonna be a good day.." Corvan added quietly as he sat up and watched one of his usuals approach.

Opening the several small pouches of coins, keiv counted at least ten silver and a little over fifty copper out of todays haul alone. Even the sword and shield sold that day. Packing away his stuff Corvan tucked the pouch of coins into his backpack and made sure they were well tucked at the bottom. hooking the backpack over one shoulder, Corvan then started to drag his empty Cart back home.

When Corvan rounded around the third turn on his way home, low and behold the Nobleman Deave was standing there, with what looked like a small company of mercanaries. Shaking his head some, Corvan moved his cart off the side of the road and locked it in place with small blocks of wood. Pulling out his sword and large shield from the hidden compartment on his cart, Corvan walked over till he was about ten feet away, and stopped. He stood there straight, but his arms were relaxed. Deave had a wide smirk on his face as he stood there with his arms crossed.

Chuckling some Corvan spoke out first. " A five man team? guess your not so rich.." Corvan said to Deave. Deaves face was of pure annoyance but he didn't order them to attack. " Give me the coins you have on you and you can leave here alive.." he said. Corvan simply shrugged " You men are ready to die for this petty little Nobleman?" Corvan said to them. Seeing them grin, Corvan slammed the tip of his sword into the cobblestone, and pulled out two small knifes. Holding them at the tip Corvan threw both of them. One went flying by the Noblemans left ear, but the second one struck home right in the middle of his silk covered chest. Deave screamed in surprise and then pain as he fell to the ground screaming. Ripping his sword out of the ground, Corvan charge at the mercanaries.

With his shield in front of him, Corvan manged to catch one of them by surprise and knocked him down after swiping his shield across his face, sending a spray of blood over the shield and anyone close by. As the Mercanaries got over the sudden attack, Swords, axes and even a Large Maul was drawn out to attack. Watching as several blades came in his direction in various arches, Corvan slamed the bottom of his shield into the ground, and hearing several scrapes of metal on metal, Even the Maul made a dent in his shield. Pushing up with his shield Corvan sent the one with the Maul stumbling backwards before, thrusting his sword into the mans heart, ending his life. Pulling his sword out, Corvan then turned around swinging his sword as to drive the men back. Standing back up, he held his shield in front of him slowing moving around in a semi circle with the others. The one with the axe lunged bringing his axe down straight as if trying to cleave the shield in two. Corvan mearly gripped his shield firmly and swept it up knocking the axe away and catching the axeman in a shield upper cut, dazing him. The axe went flying straight up as the man fell. Spinning around once as the 3 took a few steps back. Walking pasted the dazed man on the ground, and then hearing a shout of surprise as his own axe came hurtling down at him and landing square in his chest.

"Three of you left..sure you want to keep fighting?' Corvan said to them before throwing his longsword and catching one in the shoulder, as the long sword went in and then out through the other side, dang near down to the hilt. Rushing up Corvan shoved his shield into one of the swordsmen, knocking him sideways and pulled his sword out in a arch, cutting deeper into the already injured mans body. Leaving him screaming on the ground. Turning about Corvan let go of his sword and turning to the side just barely dodging a thrust from a shortsword. but the man overshot and corvan looped his arm, getting a firm hold of it and lifting him off the ground till the mans arm popped loudly, he then twisted the arm till he heard several cracks and breaks as the mans arm broke and splinterd. Turning to face the final Mercanary and seeming him in shock and fright, the man blindly charged at Corvan. Swinging his shield with his brute strength, Corvan sent the man flipping head over heels as he landing a few feet past him.

Walking over to the dazed Mercanary, Corvan pushed him down on his back with his iron boot, and brought the edge of his shield down full force on the mans neck and hearing the crack from the force. Dropping his shield next to the screaming swordman, Corvan grabbed the mans head and twisted it till he heard the sickening crack. Breathing heavly as he felt his body relax after the assault he had finished, Corvan walked over to the one still screaming from his arm shattering and grabbed his head. "Do you know who i am!" Corvan yelled into his face. " Your the man who defied a Nobleman!" The Mercanary cried out. " No..I am Corvan..I will defy anyone even a king!" Corvan started to beat his fists into the mans head. Left and right his fists struck the mans skulls. After a minute, Corvan was only pounding wet cobblestone. Kicking the body, Corvan then walked over to each body taking the weapons and other little trinkets he found on them. Dragging his cart closer, Corvan then cut the heads off of each of the bodies except the one he beat into nothing, and after fashioning a set of wooden stakes, jammed each head onto them. Tossing the small bags and weapons into his cart, Corvan then started his long walk back home for the night.

Just as the sun was setting on the very long day, Corvan pulled his Cart once again back into the safety of his home. Grabbing a stack of raw meat, Corvan then dropped it over a small stone wall as several dogs and wolfs came running to get at their over due dinner. petting them each in turn, as they put their front paws on the stone fence and licked him. "Eat up boys..we have training tommorow." Patting the wolf on the side as Corvan started to strip off his armor, to clean it off. grabbing the spare logs he had chopped eariler, and started to heat up his forge to knock the dents out of his shield. After getting his smithing equipment togthere, Corvan then spent the next hour or so getting the dents out of his shield and polishing it.

Setting his shield down next to his armor. Corvan then crawled into his bed, and pulled over the several layers of animal furs and fell asleep.

((ya not much today. Tommorow will be different though :)  ))

Waking up slowly as the morning sun struck his face, through the window of his sleeping house. Corvan got up slowly, ached and tired from battles that took place the day before and knowing today would not help his tired muscles, but he has to train.

Grabing the last of the logs he had chopped yesterday, Corvan started to stoke the fire to his oven, making sure it was good and hot. Taking a few good sized chunks of meat out of the meat coffin. Corvan also added a few potatos and corn to the four frying pans he had. After cooking and eating the hot morning meal, He then set off around the outside walls of his home, checking for any lurking creatures. Finding none, he then walked back into his home and started to prepare for his training. Walking out with his dogs and wolfs, Corvan told them to sit and wait. And they did, patiently waiting for him to get everything ready, Setting up the dummies with small Iron shields. Picking up his large shield, Corvan then nodded to his dogs and they began to chase him. Gone in a flash Corvan was off running.

The dogs seem to keep Corvan moving as he smacked the shield into the dummy shield sending the doll spinning out of its spot and into the ground. Running at full sprint the entire time, Corvan smacked his large Iron shield into each of the smaller shields knocking the dummies to the ground while still out running the dogs and wolfs. Then without stopping Corvan dropped the shield next to the gate and started to sprint around the outer walls as fast as he could keep the dogs and wolfs at a distance. Slowly coming to a stop Corvan patted each of the animals in turn. "Alright..its your turn.." he said to them as he grabbed his bow out of the coffin and several Arrow shafts. Walking to a long road of cobblestone, Corvan knocked the shaft and one of the dogs started to run down the road. Taking careful aim, He then let it loose. Just as it came in range, the dog turned and jumped catching the shaft in mid flight. The dog then ran back with the shaft clutched in its mouth. Each dog and wolf did this, all jumping in the excat same spot every time.

((A small hint into his training. :) ))

((ok so im back..gotta love finals :D))

Spending the next several hours cutting up Meats and various other veggies, and putting them into iron and clay bowls for his dogs and wolfs to eat out of. Letting the pets roam around in their area. picking up his chain gloves and slipping them on, Corvan walked off outside the main walls to a large wooden pen outside. Then large pen held a single Brown Bear. Its age unknown, Corvan casualy jumped the fence and clapped his hands several times to get the bears attention.

The bear turned and charged at Corvan, closing the distance quickly before jumping and trying to push him onto the ground. Crovan reached and took a hold of the front legs of the bear and rolled onto his back and using his legs to push the bear up and over, flipping the bear several feet. The Bear got up quickly and charged again. Corvan charged at the bear as well, both of them stood straight up and started to wrestle on their feet, trying to push each other over.

Corvan and the Bear did this for what seemed like hours, before Corvan finally managed to push the bear over and onto its back. Getting on top of the bear Corvan pinned him. Finally the bear snorted in defeat and Corvan got off of him. "Well Bear..you held pretty good..but i got ya this time" Corvan said and patted the bear on the back. Grabbing a backpack, Corvan pulled out several peices of meat which were wrapped in cloth. Putting them in a larger bowl and patting Bear once more before jumping over the fence and taking a rest against the pole.

It was about mid day maybe a hour or so after. Corvan was swinging a large axe in a recently fallen tree, cutting it up for firewood. Suddenly a voice rang out. " Corvan! This is the local magistrate! We Require you to come forth now!" Shaking his head, Corvan tossed his axe into the pile and grabed his sword. "stand back from the gate or you will be shot" Corvan said back a minute later. Seeing them at a safe distance, Corvan opened the gate some and stepped out. Getting a better view, Corvan saw a man in silk clothes with a shortsword at his side. The man was flanked by three guardsmen, all of whom had long swords and large shields and who looked to be in full chainmail.

"Corvan..we come here again..because we found..a group of heads..and one person whos head was there..just several hundred peices.." the man shook, but before the man could continue, Corvan spoke out. " Yes Larenz..i killed them, and i had vaild reason to, and before you say it, Yes i know he was a noblemen. But when you hire a group of mercanaries to intimidate me and try to take my money by force..i will kill you." Corvan finished saying. His sword in hand, Corvan waited.

Coughing to clear his throat, Larenz looked more nervous then anything " Alright..but the heads..on wooden pikes is well Scaring everyone more and more..you have to stop." Corvan simply glared. " get off of my land lorenz..and go back to your little palace..I unlike you..have work to do..Now leave before i decide to kill all four of you and feed you to my pets." Corvan said and turned around walking back inside his home and locking the door. "Corvan! CORVAN!! You are breaking the law by doing this!" A few seconds later, a small axe comes flying over the wall and lands within a few inches of Larenz.

After another minute of his lame threats, Corvan went back to cutting up the rest of the wood he would need for tonights warming fire, to cook his evening meals and meat.

Tossing the chopped wood into the stone oven, Corvan shifted around the deer meat, Potatos, Corn, and Onion, in one large frying pan. Sitting on the wooden stool, he crafted a few years before, Corvan slid the pan back into the fire to finish the cooking of his meal. Staring into the fires Corvan started to remember his past.

The sounds of iron swords against iron swords and shields, rang as if he was sitting next to a battlefield. A large scale battle of Whitelighters and Blacklighters, in the thousands. A army of pale skinned and deep devious yellow eyes. Some in this army of Blacklighters, shown out more then others. The apperent Champions of the Dark Goddess Libila shown darkly with a faint aura around them of a very dark red, all of whom carried a scythe. Across from this army of darkness stood the army of the Whitelight. Some in full Steel plate armor, others in Chain of various metals, and some in cloth robes. Apperently Healing preists. Champions of Vynora, Magranon and even Fo, Stood out. A few select ones baring the artifacts of their gods. The sword of Magranon with one and the Bronze hammer in another. Others bore more mystical artifacts for healing and protecting.

Their among the army of darkness stood a man taller then the rest. he stood out some from his height about a head taller then most in the army. This was of course none other then Corvan. But even here among all the evil gathered, he still looked different. His eyes did not shine like the others. His skin was not as pale, but it did show he had spent many years among them. He looked to be in his early 20s if not close to more of his mid 20s.

Slowly the army of Libila started to chant and yell like a horde of barbarians, banging their weapons against shields and parts of armor. From the rear of the army, clusters of war arrows rained down on the Whitelighters, and in turn they fired back. For Several minutes arrows flew back and forth taking out those not lucky enough to have luck and a big enough shield. After the final shots were fired, the Blacklighters charged into the Whitelighters and chaos insued as they clashed.  Screams and shouts, the sounds of iron against steel and vise versa. For hours the two mighty forces clashed. Eventually they stopped fighting, in fear of losing to much strenght to hold them back a seige. Both sides walked back to there lands in utter defeat, shamed for not winning but vowing to come back stronger then ever.

Corvan stood in the middle of the field in his dark studded leather armor, watching as the two armies walked back shouting at each other. "this is deem to go on forever.." Looking over Corvan saw two people. One was a wounded Blacklighter and the other was a half dead Whitelighter, both trying to get up. In his anger Corvan charged at them both, cutting down the Whitelighter. Then turning to the blacklighter, seening the man nod to Corvan in approval. Screaming out Corvan then ran his sword through the blacklighter. His Screams caused a few to turn around, the blacklighters shook there heads and some even shouted curses at him in banishment. The Whitelighters stared angerly at him but did not charge him.

Looking around Corvan sheathed his sword and picked up his shield and walked off into the near by woods.

Several years later, that same man now stares into the cooking fire of his own home. As the moon of Seris rises into the night sky. Pulling out the pan Corvan set down the hot pan on a small peice of fur and poured some wine he had stored up from a pervious harvest and started to eat.

(A small look into his past))

You need to work on your spelling a bit, particularly the 'i before e except after c and only when the sound is e' directive

Aside from that, excellent working with your plot devices and a sound storyline that promises to lead to a thrilling ending - if it ends at all

((Ok time to get this thread back on track))

Early the next morning, Corvan got up slowly shaking off the morning cold. Grabbing a very long fur and wrapping it around him, Corvan looked out to see the morning fog coming off the lake. Grabbing a few peices of dried meat, Corvan heads off twoards his weapons storage. Shaking his head some, Corvan started to clean up the mess he made in the large stone building the other day. "Great..i knocked all my swords down and my mauls from throwing in that dang bag.." Shakes his head and starts to through the building, setting swords back up on weapon racks. Some on shelfs while others were stored in different places. After an hour or so of this cleaning of deadly weapons Corvan finally locks up each back and then the door to the building, carrying a single Claymore.

Walking out the now half open gate Corvan then headed to a small clearing on a cliff side. The cliff side looked over a good side lake and the desert of Valhalla, his former home. Tossing off the large fur Corvan started to do some simple swinging motions to loosen up his muscles. Slowly he started to swing the heavy long sword in long archs, slowly picking up speed as his moves became more complex.  From afar it would look as if Corvan was fighting off several enemies at once from his odd array of movements.

Suddenly Corvan stopped as he held the sword in front of him, turning to face the forest. A large brown bear came charging out at him at full speed. Growling and roaring at him as the angry beast charged. As the beast neared, Corvan suddenly spun to the left as the animal was to slow to alter its charge and merely tried to stop. The heavy sword came around and struck the raging animal in the left rear leg but the blade didn't stop. it cut into the beast going deep into the body of the bear. Hearing it howl in pain, Corvan yanked the sword out and spun around bringing the sword up high and down across the bears neck cutting it off in one swing.

Stabbing his sword into the ground, Corvan dragged the bear out of general sight and pulled out his hunting knife started to butcher up the bear.

Picking up the now butchered corpse of the bear, Corvan tossed it effortlessly down a small cliff into a pit littered with bones of various other creatures. Walking back inside his home, Corvan searched around and pulled out a shovel. Heading back to the cliff, Corvan started to dig into the cliff some and dropping the dirt off into the pit.

After an hour or so of this, the bones could no longer be noticed. The former pit was nothing more then a mound of dirt. Looking up into the sky after tossing his shovel into a open stone coffin, Corvan looked up at the sky and seeing the clouds form high and dark. "Snow..well thats something I haven't seen in years.." Shaking his head, Corvan walked into his main house and reaches under his bed pulling out several small chests and opened each one pulling out neatly folded sheets. Carrying them over to his farm area, the dogs and wolfs tilted their heads to the side apperently curious to what he was doing.

Corvan then started to secure one of the sheets into the small stone wall. Jumping over it a few minutes later, he then started to secure the other end to the higher stone wall. He was using the sheets to protect his crops from freezing from the coming snow and putting them at a angle would cause the snow to slowly fall over the edge onto the path he would later shovel out to clear. Making sure each section was secure and overlaping each other, Corvan then walked into his storage building and pulled out a large axe. Walking outside the gate, Corvan found a few good sized trees and started to swing his axe into them.

As the second tree fell to his strength, Corvan caught a few odd sounds out in the distance." What the..?" he said to himself.  Holding his axe in both hands, Corvan rushed off into the woods. Nearing the road Corvan slamed the axe into the tree up high and used it to pull himself up. Yanking the blade out he started to climb the old Pinewood tree. Reaching a good height a few seconds after, he said quietly in the shadow of the old tree watching the road. Sure enough not but a minute later, the sight of a large troll and several people.

"Magranon followers.." he said quietly as the group neared the first line of rotted and decayed heads. They stopped and looked at the heads and spoke to each other. Suddenly they were looking all around with weapons drawn. They knew. Watching them quietly from his position, as they went back up the other way to take a safer route.

Shaking his head Corvan leaped from the tree landing in the middle of the road with a dull thud and headed back to cut down the rest of the wood he would need for the coming snowy winter.
