Posted June 23, 2022 Tested chess a bit today with a friend. Seems pawns are autopromoted to queens. This actually creates 2 problems in chess. #1 An autopromotion to queen can actually deny you victory since if it promotes to queen it can end in a draw due to not allowing the other player's king spaces to move. #2 Often times knights are the better choice since they have the ability to execute forks (attacking multiple pieces at once due to their L shaped move pattern) Pawns should be given a choice of promotion. Whether you want a rook, bishop, knight or queen should be up to the players choice.
