  1. I tried 2 things this weekend.

First thing i did was reset windows 10.  This was recommended by someone after Retrograde asked folks to submit there post graphics issues in one of the threads posted a couple days back.

This did nothing for me except keep me busy reinstalling all sorts of useful stuff.  Problems remained

Second thing i did was try Keenan's suggestion above.  Well..  I'd say some things changed, mainly i didnt experience lag in our common area while we were sermoning.  Actually, things looked pretty good for an hour or so and then things degenerated again.  I had no problem tabbing across to different toons... they were not 'disconnected' like they had been previously when they took a minute or so to fully engage.  Response was good.  The problem was toon started dropping out...  leaving world.  This was similar to the problem i had been having in that i could still alt-tab over to the toon after the message was displayed that it had left the world.  I then take a step forward with that toon and i get the loading screen.  The toon would then re-connect.   Toons continuously dropped out of the game.

Memory leak issues were minimal when all toons were on.  I had 8 toons logged in on Xan and 1 logged in on Indy.  Most of my time was spent running around Indy and that toon had no lag issues.

Edit:  Neglected to mention that i got several disconnect dialogue box messages today.  Each time i got one it mentioned a particular toon being idle too long in the first sentence.  Did not get this everytime, but got it several times.  I was not getting this prior making Keenan's suggested changes today.  I would also like to add that my cpu load reduced quite a bit after making the changes.

  2. i posted about this in technical issues under client issues a couple days back, but im going to repeat here at Retrograde's request.

Before the graphics changes, i could have 8 clients or more running smoothly.  They could all be in the same area and my villagers could have many alts running in the same area.  I could afk or just not check an alt for hours and there would be no issue.

Recently, say 2 weeks ago, I tried to log in 8 toons and found that something had changed significantly.  I could get the toons into the game, but it took a lot of time loading and the 7th / 8th toons were very painful.  If I left 5 toons in the village compound and took one out hunting, i found that as soon as i left the other toons' local my performance for the single player got much better.  As soon as i returned to the local occupied by the other 5 toons, things immediately got bad.

I also find that if im alt+tab'ing between toons, when i select a new toon, it seems to have disconnected and it takes quite a while... say a minute... to become fully responsive again.  Then if i switch to another toon, i must endure this issue all over again.

The other issue i have is toons will drop...  xxx left the world.  However, i can still alt + tab to that toon and attempt to move.  When i do this, the toon moves briefly and then i get the loading screen and the toon re-connects to the game.

Whatever this issue is, it has created massive problems for my play style.  Whats of the point in having multiple, paid accounts if they cant be used simultaneously if that is the way i want to use them?

    I am running:

    Win 10

    Intel i5 4440

    16MB gskill RAM

    MB: Asus z87i pro

    Sapphire Dual x R9 280x

Not cutting edge, but definitely not a slouch either.

  3. I am now finding it unbearably difficult to play the way I have played before something changed. I can tab to a toon and spend a minute trying to get to re-connect... It takes a really long time to get the client running smoothly. Then I tab back to another toon and start the process again. All the while, other toons are randomly disconnecting. My villager who has multiple toons running at same time does not have this issue.

  4. we need a small barrel rack.  im thinking 2 rows tall and 3 rows wide.  modular for flexibility.

Really need to tidy up my barrel collection.

This could also be applied to bsb's...  hate having these things all over the floor.

  5. as i said above, find an item on the ground... similar to a valrei item used in missions.  go get your friends... you have to hurry because it will decay quickly.  you and your friends activate it and 10 or so tough monsters spawn in a 5x5 tile area...  maybe have a timer.  if all creatures are killed in x amount of time, a bit of loot is dropped in a chest.  no need for a portal, no permanent impact on surroundings.

this would just encourage people who like a bit of excitement, to go out and search in small groups.  make the loot interesting with the rare possibility of finding something really good.

i like to hunt.... this would add a new dimension to hunting.

get something like this established and working well and then do progressively more complex random 'events'

  6. From a previous forum topic (gonna try it again :D) :

"I think it would be interesting to add killer trees with different ranged attacks depending on type of tree.  Acid, Frost, Lightning and Fire.  Could probably use the turret code to some degree.

Make it toughish - say hellhound.  The challenge would come from the ranged element - say 5 tiles or so.

Be nice if the loot had a chance of being something a little different, but hey... now im really dreaming"

Just have random trees transform into killer trees.  Be nice to have a critter with a ranged attack that wasnt unique.

Maybe use existing models with a little extra animation.
