Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) on the phone with Cox for an hour 1. they can pull up wurmonline website2. Posted April 2, 2014 I have Suddenlink and all other sites are working properly. No browsing issues at all. I have suddenlink ITexas)and have the exact same issues you are having. Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) For those who still have issues - the post "it doesnt work" is not really helpfull in tracking down the issue. The simple explanation of how internet works is that You and Wurm online server are connected via dots. The farther away from server usually the more dots. If any of those dots misbehave your connection to the server drops. But Any of those dots ontop of wurm online server also means well... Any dots. To check on said dots there are tools. On windows tracing the route and checking upon those dots is usually done in command prompt "CMD" (rudimentary but good enough) via the command "tracert <IP>" - in this case "tracert 78.46.5.98" - Command will create a table and poke said dots one by one for 30 tries before moving on to show you just what dot is misbehaving and how you are connected. Post that table here so we can see where it goes wrong. For other OS check the topic that RedBaron has posted here: As i play on windows myself i sadly cannot help there :/ With this Data the Devs should be able to help you and fix the issue if the fault lies on their servers, Or advise you if the fault is somewhere else that they dont have access to (As those dots could be anything really. With normal browsing you might never need to connect to them so you never experience issues except when you do need to connect to them). Ps: This is really really really simplified version of how internet works. I do not understand why your servers are this way post moving to germany, have you considered moving them again? 3rd times the charm and all that? Posted April 2, 2014 Here's a wild suggestion that might have to be looked into. As far as I know modern Anti-DDoS protections use Anycasting. Anycasting means that when you send packets and they cross all those nodes to reach the destination, they will not always go through the same nodes but will be routed through nodes with the same IP based on network load ( that's the basic principle used in DDoS mitigation ). So a wild speculation, the hetzner network might be using such a configuration and some of its nodes might have problems that lead to traffic dropping. Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) That one is most definetly located in Germany. It seems its either Level3 communications Or hetzner with over 1s latency and what appears to be possibly packet loss. Posted April 6, 2014 Good time for a double post, so after getting kicked 5 times in one night I think it's time for a little bit of a pause. Please contact the people you pay server fees to and resolve said issue of why they can't keep a stable server up, or why it kicks some people randomly and then repeats the process. My tracert routinely shows a line that goes clear through into frankfurt which is a long long ways from where my computer resides. This is not an internet issue, this is not a "pingpong's network" issue nor is it a Pingpong's computer issue. Please find a way to stabilize the network so that I can play. Posted April 6, 2014 Randomly lets me online every few hours....heres from my post in the mac thread> "unable to open application...": Earlier today I was able to play just fine. When I tried to login this evening the first wurm online box pops up stays there for a long time, goes away then a window pops up saying not able to launch application. This happens on both my mac and my pc. I also cannot access wurmonline.com or wurmpedia.com I tried the wifi on my phone still wouldn't work however the 4g on my cell phone is able to access wurmonline.com So I checked my internet and I am having no problems, can access everything 30mb download speed. Why is this happening and what can I do to fix it? Haven't been able to play in over eight hours. Extremely confused as to why my internet will not allow me to access anything wurm related but yet my 4g on my cell phone will.
