Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) Reallow building buildings on sloped tiles, however, remove the ability to build multistory on those tiles. Same slopes allowed as before. It would add variety to a lot of places, especially PvP servers where every deed is just a bowl, with this back in they can be a bowl with wavy rims. Posted March 20, 2014 I don't really care either way, but does anyone know why it was disabled? Items/people clipping through the floor or something?
Posted March 20, 2014 Would you build house on non-flat surface in real life?-
Posted March 20, 2014 Would you build house on non-flat surface in real life?-1Yeah. It might be a shack or something, or perhaps a supported house on the side of a mountain. Or look at the leaning tower of pisa. It happens, might not be the best quality, but if you want something a bit different, I don't see why not.
Posted March 20, 2014 Would you build house on non-flat surface in real life?-1Actually yes.But that's beside the point, realism in games isn't a good thing if it's limiting you in a sandbox without good reason doing so, there's a reason it's a game.+1 I won't be using em because I think there ugly, but it "could" help new players out, and a variety is always a good thing. Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) I don't really care either way, but does anyone know why it was disabled? Items/people clipping through the floor or something? I'd bet that is part of the reason, but I believe the new roofs and floors (which are static models tied to tiles now rather than drawn dynamically based on the shape of the building as previously) is also a factor. If they can figure out how to implement this without making it look like crap (skewed and whatnot) and limit it to bottom floor, I'd support it. Because it could enable some creative designs, and not because "sandbox, durrrr". Edited March 20, 2014 by EliasTheCrimson
Posted March 20, 2014 iirc it was disabled due to skewed multi storey buildings that would just look stupid for example, a 5 slope 10 storey building isn't going to look like something that could logically remain standing. +1 to single storey sloped houses, but please, not multi-storey buildings. Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) Would you build house on non-flat surface in real life?-1 You ought to see my house +1 (with no multilevel of course until they can fix the appearance) Edited March 20, 2014 by Elen
Posted March 20, 2014 +1I would also like to see stilts to build multistory houses on uneven surfaces.
Posted March 20, 2014 http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/98068-house-foundations/ I thought the flat req was a coding issue to allow the multi story. Foundations would fix that.
