This is 2 nights in a row. Is there not a server monitor tied into the support to detect login server failures?

I think it has to do with the patch notes page somehow and not the log in server all the patch notes are offline on my open launchers.

It's possible you might figure out what's wrong from the log file below, but if you can't, post the full log on the wurm online forums, and someone else might be able to help you.

Login server is offline, apparently - see http://wurmonline.com/status/

 

I've never seen the login server show as online there though.

Here is my log, same issue, using a much earlier version of Java that was stable and problem free until now.

Yeah I'm getting this too this is crap. Are we going to be refunded for this? I couldn't get on last night either kept stopping at connecting and then would error out, and now I can't even open the launcher cause of this error.

I am dead in the water as well. Same issue. Only happened after I got a windows update on 8.1. Is any of the staff going to comment or give some sort of solution?

Its most likely network routing issue. I had the same problem when trying to connect.


 


Fix:


 


Load up a vpn to reroute your connection somewhere else.


 


Connect to the game (The news will still not load but you will be able to get in game)


 


Depending on the vpn you may be able to disconnect it and still be able to play the game. You can also just keep it on.

Manual update does not fix issue. This is getting old fast looks like Landmark here I come at least I will get to play after a hard days work at the office. Usually I am not an ass but damn guys keep it simple stupid can't be achieved here. I know we have dedicated players here where is the dedicated programmers? Where are the moderators to at least blow smoke up our arse by telling us their looking into it.

OK ranting and bitching done I go play something else maybe it will work tomorrow.

403 is the forbidden error. Did something get updated in the server serving this request ? It's the User-Agent in the HTTP header that causes the error so probably some security feature server side allowing calls only from Mozilla, Chrome etc User-Agents to prevent spam bots.
