How to load crates on a Cog

Heya

 

The Fluffy Fairy spend 2 hours trying to load some crates in a cog...

So i thought, when i finally succeeded, to make some screens so others have a lil help positioning the ship and crates!

If someone knows a better or easier way, pls enlighten us. (sometimes i am so fluffy i dont see the obvious )

It is the same problem as with horses and cog. Use help of select window.

Speaking with no experience other than loading crates on a Corbita, the thought I had the other day was this: (theory, not tested)

 

Build a 1x1 arched wall platform with a wooden plank opening in it on the waters edge (on the pier/dock)

 

Drive cart into platform under the opening

 

Disembark cart, climb platform, unload crates while standing atop platform.  As crates will appear centered on your body, perhaps stand on the side of the opening closest to the ship.

 

Crates will appear on top of platform (did this all the time 5 stories up on my house construction)

 

Board ship, crates should be eye level.  Perhaps another level of the platform would be needed.

This requires disembarking the ship for each crate in order to select the next one no?

Personally don't like cogs, as I cannot see around its big ass. Especially in these kind of situations.

raise you dock about 10 dirts. I'm going to build a taller dock on my island just because of the buggy load range of reach. fyi, the select window does Jack about the "you are too far away" issue.
