jenn001 is the login server, running tracert jenn001 while i was having problems yielded a clean 35ms result because the login server was not the issue.

See http://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Server_types#Freedom_servers_cluster_1  for the name of the server you are on when submitting a report.

( i have to mention this because i was very confused, it provided me with a clean tracert while i was staring at the client timing out, made no sense. )

Side note since I've already submitted information twice, loading my VPN works to solve the issue 100% of the time, but of course we shouldn't have to rely on a VPN in order to have a stable connection to Wurm.

Possible fix,

 

I got dc'ed every 10 mins for the past 2 days, after doing this i have no more problems and havent dc'ed once.

 

Start >>> Search (type in: Proxy) click on: configure proxy server, on the new window hit lan settings at bottom,

untick the box that states:

(Use a proxy server for your lan) - Click apply and re-launch Wurm

 

Note: on the new windows update's this setting is often reset upon shutdown so u may have to check to see if that little box has

gained its Tick when you turn Pc on, this also auto-resets on windos 8.

 

No credit! i claim no credit for this, It was a fix in a planetside 2 Forum post as the proxy tick causes connection issues to there EU servers.

Game is totally unplayable for me... 5-8 minutes for the graphics and GUI to load... moving around takes 1 minute to respond.

 

I was fine up until this morning and now its non functional

 

I dont see the point of posting my trace because its fine until it hits somewhere in europe.... same connections everyone else is having issues.

 

Maybe its time for those unable to play game be compensated... its no worse for me than the DDOS attack the week before.

I had two days of unplayable lag and though today is better, the game starts to choke at least once an hour. FPS drops to 1 or zero and I can't move for minutes at a time.

It only started recently, so I assumed that information was relevant. If my own personal inability to move and subsequent disconnects are completely unrelated to the other people's issues (who seem to be in a similar geographic location to me), well, that is odd.

This is going way beyond intermittent lag... And far into the area where I have to ask;

 

1) What has the network tech at your host said?

I know first hand Tier 1 providers like level 3, don't days or weeks to track down and fix issues like this.

 

2) This has been happening long enough now, that if your host hasn't given you a hard fix deadline, you should be forming a contingency plan.

So what is it?

 

Please keep in mind, that you are providing a paid service that is delivered over the internet, and saying the problem is on the internet beyond your control, (while maybe technically true) isn't an acceptable answer. If your host is not paying the top tier providers for the level of service your require in incidents like this, then your are not paying the right host.

 

I am personally to the point where I can't leave my deed. And today I can't even sit on deed and make bricks. Hell I can't even chat with other players due to this lag. Answers/updates need to be way more forth coming on this than they have been.

 

I'm no longer able to play actively thanks to this new host. I seem to be dropping out always during prime-time North-America.

 

I would like to see an answer as to what's going as. This has been going on a week and no response?

Side note since I've already submitted information twice, loading my VPN works to solve the issue 100% of the time, but of course we shouldn't have to rely on a VPN in order to have a stable connection to Wurm. 

I so agree with this I can no longer login to wurm without having to use VPN.. I hope they fix this soon...

You probably have a mix 2 situations, the internet lag(which will still allow you to move), and normal fps lag(which comes as freezing/stuttering). I think it has to do with their shader changes, as you aren't the first person to randomly of gotten the issues since the last update.

Posting again big lag about 10 min ago. I'm in Croatia, Europe. I had lags 20-30 seconds long on every action. This is what i manage to trace(first 'normal' then lagging,and ping at end) :
