Why Dont We use The Community Map

Recommended Posts

how About using allll the hard work the community has put in and blend the ingame map with trencals updated map gives us all the benefits of using what everyone else has done while allowing us to add our own notations roads already marked deeds already marked roads outlined tunnels and everything why are we using a substandard map? i cant even see my map the res is soo low atleast with everything marked its easier to discern why are we being made to redo what people have worked hard to do for months or years now? i say use the community map in place of the horrid in game one

The ingame map is to give a rough idea of locations and such. It is not there to provide a "you are here" type interface, but allow orientation and navigation.

Personally I use the ingame map for areas of interest, grape fields, mines I wish to return to, spawn locations of greenish mobs.

The community map is to outline every deed possible, and will always be useful for larger scale navigation.

The in-game maps were never intended to replace the community map.  Nor is it intended to have all that detail in game.  It is a basic map to add some markers onto but you will still use the community map for detailed roads etc.

I was against the whole map idea right from the start but after seeing the way they implemented it, its not that bad. I would rather not see any more detail in game though unless it was going to involve mapping from tools ingame and selling the maps ingame.
