For better placement of items that cannot be moved

Recommended Posts

With the new update some found that the new large braziers cannot be pushed/pulled or rotated.  We have long had this same problem with other items.  If we are not going to be able to move these items once placed, how about at least making it possible to see where it is going to be before we place it.  You would have to make the items liftable so they can be placed, but give a plant once only before they can be used.  Holding the item as active shows you an outline on the ground where it will be when planted, so you can plant it precisely where you want it.

Yeah, like "hologram" thing we get on so many other games? Why not. As long as they don't move after completion like guard towers.

In fact, stuff not moving upon completion would probably do the trick, since most items are movable while unfinished.

For braziers i'd rather see them fixed so they can be pushed/pulled/rotated.. However the OP would certainly be usefull for placing the likes of altars etc.

Not moving on completion is a problem a lot of the time.  The guard towers are a prime example, you never really know where the tower door will face, or whether it will sit square or diagonal to the road next to it.  Also there are gold and silver altars, which drop completed and unmoveable, but you never know exactly where, just somewhere on the tile you are standing on.  I'm asking for a way to set these items up and not be sloppy about it.

While I wholeheartedly agree with the issue you raise, and hope that a change is made, guard towers were a poor example to select, as they can in fact, be rotated.

As for altars, they land facing you, a little bit right in front of you. I had success with positioning and placing mine, once I got the hang of it. Would really recommend practicing placing 30-40 of them on the test server to get a feel for it, if you want an exact setup.

This, would be so nice. A transparent representation of where the object would end up, would be absolutely perfect.

Then not all guard towers can be rotated because the ones around where i live cannot, not even the maker can rotate them. Also you can pick up marble braziers and load them as well

Rotation of the towers has been turned off for now ... they were getting deactivated.
