Servers offline from a DDOS attack.

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the continued updating Seara.  You are truly one of the best GMs.

I'm excited to try the new hosting company, glad Rolf decided to switch.  This hosting company is very unprofessional.

Exactly, people have been using client modifications and tools for years, no need for a ddos.

A ddos wouldnt even get you an advantage anyways

Ok Guys,

I am as disappointed as everyone not to be able to play but, these things do happen.  The person who did this is looking for infamy, this is giving it to him, I think he is an idiot and obviously has not real achievements in his life so the only way to get noticed is to be an arse.

I say lets stop talking about him and start talking about the positives sides of this new update and the Dev team and Rolf.

Precicely, It would only give him a bigger challange and at the end he could not even hack anything if they pull out the plug like they did now hehe

My personal opinion is this. The sandbox mmo gamers is a very small percentage of the gamers community world-wide. It's a small pie that a handful of companies try to eat. It's obvious that when one of them is threatened by the popularity of another, they will resort to unethical ways to prevent their enemies growth. There are always exceptions to this rule, but 90% of the cases is competition between companies.

I  I'll take you are trolling and want to cause drama.

You are more of the paranoid and not-so-friendly-sort ? I take it ?

"ddos failed misserably servers went down for 1hour & 48 mins" ... thats a successful attack.

Ok, so, these have all gotten taken down THIS YEAR (2014).

cloudflare(!!) - down from ddos attack

dota 2 - (sorta, they targeted gameservers iirc) down from ddos attack

league of legends(/internap) - down from ddos

uplay & ubisoft - down from ddos

xbox live - down from ddos

origin - down from ddos

minecraft - down from ddos

steampowered - down from ddos

planetside2/playstation network - down from ddos

Notice anything "simular" (sic, lol)? They are big players with lots of money. Using low budget service providers? nah.

Doughboy is a ex sound dev for wurm. He, Solei, and Fomar are now staff/guides over on Xsyon.

Doughboy - Xsyon Guide Hael

Solei - Xsyon Guide Sophia

Fomar - Xsyon Guide Elijah

A good reason not to play that game

if we could only get every banned and disgruntled player in one room, punch em all in the face-then we could be pretty sure we atleast got the guy who did this once and then all go out for some ice cream

However, ice cream begets more ice cream, so I support that part of the plan. :)
