The Simian's Shame

Recommended Posts

For no reasons other then i'm bored smithing, here, have a poem I did a few years ago. Its not linked to wurm in any way thus its here, squatting on wood scraps.

In the twisting labyrinth of London Zoo,
Lived a sad, lonely ape named Earl Shaboo,
Now Shaboo was burdened with a guilty shame,
For he had been playing a benefits game,
In the cunning disguise of his zoo-keeper,
He had been claiming illegal job seekers,
Earl Shaboo knew it was not the thing to do,
But there was a task he had sworn to see through.

Now next door there lived a beautiful Baboon,
With cute curls in her fur and eyes of maroon,
He knew that she must have been out of his league,
So he conjured up a plan to set her free,
For you see she was kept cruelly imprisoned,
In the decrepit London tourist system.

Using tools he purchased from a B&Q,
He broke Miss Baboon out of her cage and zoo,
They spent his money to escape together,
Where Shaboo thought they’d be happy forever,
Alas love does not work as we wish,
When she left him for a tastier dish,
A great big gorilla with his own safari,
Needless to say Shaboo was left mardy,

In a foul mood he caused chaos and fuss,
When he flew into a rage on his local bus,
Eventually the police brought him crashing,
With tranquilizers of the highest fashion,
And now he’s back at the zoo facing –
Investigation for his tax evasion,
But there’s a lesson to learn from Earl Shaboo,
It’s never to trust a cheating Baboon!
