Posted February 13, 2014 My thought when this came to mind for me was "make an item that can have keys attached to it that is made from a higher-level or more uncommon metal, which can be activated to open/unlock/whatever any item that any key on it opens." I don't agree with making them nodrop, however. They should be droppable like anything else. But I think this would be a huge timesaver for a lot of people with bad eyesight and/or memory of key names like myself Maybe it's time to add aluminum (and bauxite) to the game That's what I'd think a keyring would be made from. But in lieu of a new metal: silver or gold or bronze. Everyone knows what a pain it is to search through a metric ton of keys. Let's talk about this seriously. What compromise could we come to on it? Posted February 13, 2014 I won't yell. This is a feature that has been heavily asked for over the years. I can't understand why it hasn't been added yet. Is it really that hard to code something like this?
Posted February 13, 2014 (edited) The basic idea, is that you have a Keyring, that you can attach Keys to, then you can activate that instead of having to search through the mounds of Keys. Don't make it available to open in the inventory, just through right-clicking only, that way some people like me won't feel the urge to open it in the inventory, but other people that want to see what Keys reside within can still access it.+1 Edited February 13, 2014 by Shrimpiie
Posted February 13, 2014 Long overdue feature. I'm guessing managing the keychain would be as simple as opening it like a container and take keys in and out.
Posted February 13, 2014 I would modify the request to make the ring (and all keys attached to it) NO DROP.
Posted February 13, 2014 This is a 'would be nice' feature but I can wait while they work on more important stuff. In the meantime put your keys in pottery jars marked with group functions like deed gates, vehicles, and other.
Posted February 13, 2014 This is a 'would be nice' feature but I can wait while they work on more important stuff. In the meantime put your keys in pottery jars marked with group functions like deed gates, vehicles, and other. I like that as a workaround. And yes there is more important stuff. But this could be one of those easy things for them to slip in in an update, because I can't imagine it would be too hard to code being that they could just make a modified container class for it. Posted February 13, 2014 +1 and while I am not sure of the issues around no drop, I suspect it matters on PvP?
Posted February 13, 2014 +1 and while I am not sure of the issues around no drop, I suspect it matters on PvP? Yeah that's what I'm assuming too, I don't play on PvP servers but if I did I wouldn't want it nodrop. On Freedom it would be fine.
Posted February 13, 2014 We wouldnt just be limited to yelling at the OP. Many people, even I, have suggested key rings at one point or another. Typically an item or container that can hold a number of keys (quantity based on ql) that functions as the key when activated and used on its respective lock. Perhaps even a gui addition akin to the toolbelt. Jewelrysmith item... metal-wise Id say bronze or brass. The alloys could use more loving.
