Posted February 10, 2014 Throwing this one out there and it is not about the hardest skill to level. We all know the candidates for that title. Instead this is about the hardest skill to to reach 100% chance in crafting its most difficult item. As a starter I'll offer up Ropemaking -> Cordage. 81 skill, 95 wemp and 83ql ropetool gives me 83% chance to create. Now............... Who has something that is even worse? Posted February 10, 2014 (edited) Epic -> Pylon. ~17% chance with 18ql slab and 72ql clay. Looking back at logs, I had effectively 93.24 masonry. Edited February 10, 2014 by Bix

Posted February 10, 2014 According to the wiki, Exquisite meditation rug: 90 cloth tailoring, 90 QL loom = 46% creation chance Sounds about right, FrankD's chance isn't all that great on an exq rug last I heard, and we all know how great his CT skill is lol
Posted February 10, 2014 heh... that shut this one down quickly, was hoping to see some other examples of high difficult create actions.
Posted February 10, 2014 I mean metallurgy, weapon smithing, probably the hardest to grind up. Cordage probably hardest to make ya.
Posted February 10, 2014 (edited) heh... that shut this one down quickly, was hoping to see some other examples of high difficult create actions. Isn't boat locks on par with cordage ropes? Edited February 10, 2014 by atazs
Posted February 10, 2014 The wagons will probably get on this list.Think about it, needs lvl 40 skill to have the option to start (so about 10% at 40).From what i've seen on test with 70 skill, and ql 90 mats i had around 40% to start (although i don't remember the ql of the wheel axle, just the original planks and shafts). So it will probably be close to the exquisite meditation rugs. Posted February 10, 2014 Oh, c'mon. We all know it's making kindling! Even if you managed to get a 100 ql wood scrap and your Woodcutting is 99 and the game gives you 99% chance to make it, you will still only succeed 50% of the time. A knarr full of dirt - 1s. Sleeping powder - 1.5s. One thousand chunks of concrete - 3s. Personal merchant contract - 10s. Making kindling at 99% odds - priceless.
Posted February 11, 2014 Mmm maybe the chance of getting a 99 boatlock from a 99 iron lump, the creation chance by itself is fairly easy. Offhand Im pretty sure its the exq rug; though, never bothered getting ropemaking much further than 50 title, so cordage might be it too. Oh man traps start out with a high difficulty for blacksmiths. Not sure if they ever hit 100%
Posted February 11, 2014 I've never made one, but aren't gold mine doors supposed to be crazy hard to make, too?
Posted February 13, 2014 I've never made one, but aren't gold mine doors supposed to be crazy hard to make, too? Gold doors are certainly hard by any measure, but part of the reason they're so crazy is that you need a ton of gold which means people will use low ql for the creation/attaching. Low ql means very low chance to create and attach even with very high blacksmithing. I'm sure that using 90ql gold would make it much easier, but that would be crazy expensive. Posted February 13, 2014 I've no idea if I'm remembering wrong as I'm not a crafter and am going off what I think I was told, but aren't rivets kinda hard? May have been something else similar to rivets. It's definitely something in the smithing field, causes a problem with tons of iron scraps being produced on failure. Posted February 13, 2014 Nah rivets are pretty easy even at low levels. The hard part with them is attaching to a metal door.
Posted February 14, 2014 with 97.72 blacksmithing and a 82ql door lock i only get 55% to create steel mine doors

Posted February 14, 2014 I vote for Pylon as most hard thing to build/make. While metal mine door has low % to create even with skill around 90, there are only few continue actions. Pylon has thousands of continue actions and every single action will lead to dreadful amount of fails. Houndred of fails to one succesfull action is nothing special. My BS and Masonry are comparable, both closing to 90. I spent only 3-4 hours to make and place 2 silver mine doors, including mining silver and improving doors to ql 60. But I spent 3 insane weeks (21 days, 3-10 hours per day) full of fails to build whole pylon and I do not count into it preparation of material.
Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) Masonry. Epic> Pylon. With 98 masonry i get about a 25% chance to create using 50QL materials lol. Over 4000 parts to attach, all with similar chance to be attached as that creation % makes them ridiculous. Escpecially when the purpose is for epic missions which can be compelted for the same reward for say.....picking up a random valrei item and saccing it, or killing a "traitor dog" Edited February 14, 2014 by Nadroj

So they give at least 2000 karma total.
Posted February 14, 2014 It's definitely Cloth Tailoring, trying to make the Exquisite Meditation Rug. Lowest percent chance I've ever seen for someone with over 90 skill.
