Posted February 8, 2014 Okay, let me see if I understand the situation correctly. If you answer the question incorrectly you have to wait the for the entire period of time that it takes to get the question in the first place. So for later questions almost a month if you get the wrong answer. Since it takes a year to get near the top levels with perfect play and there are 5 questions. Can we assume that the answers are typically random and thus you are likely to fail at least 2x out of 5? If so that makes attaining a high level with perfect play available within about 3 years. If this is correct, then it seems to place an unfair disadvantage upon those that try to legitimately answer the questions as Rolf wants rather than taking 15 seconds to do a google search. In other words a major incentive for those that just take the easy route. With no gain for those that don't. Is that the jist of the situation at the moment? I am just starting the path and haven't seen whether the questions are answerable or somewhat random at this point.
Posted February 8, 2014 oops, should be 5 answers not 5 questions.
Posted February 8, 2014 I did power path to level 9.. (or was it 10) a while back on one of my characters...with the majority of the questions given the choices for answers I could immediately throw out 3 of the options as simply not making any sense, and was able to work my way to what I thought was the answer logically. I was wrong maybe 3 times.. but for one of the questions none of the answers really fit to me and I had to try that one several times using the guess method. (at the time the answers were on the wiki, but I wasn't all that interested in rapid advancement, so I refrained from looking them up.) one thing you didn't mention was the skill limits for each question, which I actually found to be more of an issue than the questions themselves, and which are why I stopped advancing. skillgain in meditation is... really frustrating to me. the wiki page explains the limitations so I wont go over them again here, but I found it to be not really compatible with my play style, since I almost never grind just to get skill, and keeping track of timers is more effort than its worth to me =D. Posted February 8, 2014 Questions can be found at a lot of places you just need to search for them. You can ask in kingdom chat and someone will provide a link im sure.
Posted February 8, 2014 Questions can be found at a lot of places you just need to search for them. You can ask in kingdom chat and someone will provide a link im sure. That was the entire point of the thread. Is there significant penalty for someone staying within the spirit of the game and trying to answer questions on their own versus flipping the bird to Rolf's stated vision and just doing a 15 second search on google. I know it's around 15 seconds since I saw someone ask for the questions, be told to do a google search and reported back in less than a minute he now had the questions, unless someone pm'd them to him of course. I was just trying to determine whether or not trying to figure out the answers legitimately would unduly penalize a person and from what spellcast posted it seems it does not. Posted February 8, 2014 Assuming you're not being overly keen on your skill grinding and keeping timers to ensure you get the max number of meditates in per day, as Spellcast has said, skillgain is likely to be your limiting factor on advancement speed. Posted February 8, 2014 (edited) Its PITA and yes its going to take time....lots of it to get up there....and you will have a couple questions you miss several times.... Some questions are 100% easy to see while others may be confusing a lot depends on the path I think. To get to 70 meditation in about 9-10 months you will need a very good CoC rug and to use Sleep Bonus all the time when medding. And of Course make sure you get at least 5-6 times or more medding a day. There will be times over 2 days where you might not get one skill tick while medding as well so be prepared. Posted February 8, 2014 Skill gain is the real limiting factor. Never had issues with the answers.
