Posted January 30, 2014 Hello, A quick question. I logged in today and it was winter. But this season, something is wrong with the snow. It looks blinding white and almost plastic in texture. Very different than before. Is anyone else experiencing that? I haven't touched any of my settings. Has there been a graphical update to the snow tiles? Or is this the result of the new lighting system and we just have to tweak our settings now?
Posted January 30, 2014 you better turning brightness down for awhile, must be a bug [same as dark caves]
Posted January 30, 2014 There was a graphical change lately, some new textures and maybe more. Some people have reported brighter caves and generally smoother game appereance. So probably a shader change i would say, which may cause some things to be brighter. Basically good news if they are changing/tweaking the shaders. Also i suspect a ton of people have higher brightness settings on their computer to combat the dark caves. Now about bugs. As far as i know there is no bug with mines/shaders/snow. It's just that the java update meant the old shaders were no longer compatible so they had to use the new ones which wernt properly tweaked/calibrated yet. Was told this by a friend and i had a hunch that it was so anyway. If i recall correctly he also said the devs said it was stable but not tweaked as i said (ie no bug) but don't quote me on that (that the devs have released a official word on the situation). Posted January 30, 2014 I've experienced this too, when walking around in the daytime the ground is very bright and rather annoying.

Posted January 31, 2014 well if you have a lantern on its very bright....otherwise it doesn't look to bad.
Posted January 31, 2014 It's likely the same problem in lighting that's making horses all shiny. Will be fixed.
