Posted January 29, 2014 (edited) In every movie you can see that knights as example ride with flags in groups to let others know from wich kingdom or province/town they come from. It would be cool to give towns an image or flag? So when riders go out they could drag a flag with them that shows a flag from wich town they are from. My idea would be:They can put a limited choice of images ( Not like 5 but more like 15)Alot of different colours and maybe a name on the flag? ( Depends on the Quality like Signs)This can be made for PvP as in kingdoms but also in freedom for deeds.example: Other examples: Make them Alliance flags Also the flag choice of the town will be the same as flag poles that you can place inside ur town. This gives Flags a bit more purpose to have. Any suggestions can be added if posted. Edited January 31, 2014 by Devily
Posted January 29, 2014 Yeah, people (me) have been pushing for this for deeds or alliances, specially in freedom, since everyone has the same designs there. This would of course apply to tabards, banners, flags, and wagon covers as well... The rider flag though, idk. Usually banner carriers had to forgo weapons, wurm combat system isn't advanced enough for that. Could work like Japanese banners that were latched at the back of the armor, but that's a bit off-spec.
Posted January 29, 2014 Exactly every thing on freedom has the same banners.. bit boring
Posted January 29, 2014 +1 Even if it was like the shop signs, where a few selective options were available would be awesome.
Posted January 29, 2014 +1 Even if it was like the shop signs, where a few selective options were available would be awesome. Could be a teensy bit more elaborate than those but as easy to do. Same kind of menu as Shop signs, just instead of 1 image you'd get 3 (corresponding to 3 Layers of images that would overlap, two of them having transparency (through alpha channel)). Bottom layer would be the background, this would determine the aspect of the "fabric" of the banners, and the general color for the tabards and Wagons. Middle Layer would be a background symbol, like a shield or whatever Top layer would be the main motif (the actual symbol of the thingy). With like 6-8 Bottom layers, same number of middle layers and about 12-20 Symbols you can have more than enough combinations for all deeds and alliances in the game and others to come for a while. Posted January 29, 2014 I think it could be something new and awsome
Posted January 30, 2014 Yeah it wouldn't work on freedom, for freedom a better idea is flags for ally. But PvP this idea could work.
Posted January 30, 2014 Yes and no. Pvp i understand that could work great but on freedom. I think indeed a flags could be better for an Alliance.
Posted January 30, 2014 +1.... Lower the PMK requirement to 15- 20 and allow WL PMK templates to be chosen for Freedom Isles, And add in Calvary kingdom flags. On the Chaos side of things, the flags can add a Moral booster, which could possibly work in with the title bonuses working off the center of influence. Posted January 31, 2014 +1 for a selection of 3 coloured bars, vertical or horizontal, with an emblem in the middle, perhaps ROYGBIV, and black/white for the bars.Or an emblem chosen from 10-15 things in wurm (wolf head, bison head, sickle, bear paw, etc), on a background colour you can choose?Keep it simple, but would definitely love this. (and possibly pay up to 5 silver to pick one for my town)
Posted January 31, 2014 Well, to simple could be to booring. But it would be nice if we had some choice choosing the image and colors. Also flags have always bin a sign of recognition in the middle ages. Id like to see this so badly Also the new carts are a big example since they have and image and color. Posted January 31, 2014 +1 for sure. Bonus points for resting and riding animations. Would make the medieval feel go up a notch.
Posted February 1, 2014 Bonus point are always nice.
Posted February 2, 2014 It would be great to see one person designated as a Flag Bearer for each kingdom, would look really good going into battle with the crest held high.
Posted February 3, 2014 Correct. Well it could be more people but still the idea of representing you're kingdom or alliance. That only would be awsome to see?
Posted February 4, 2014 As initial implementation it could be even simpler, in that placing a Kingdom Flag in your hand instead of a weapon would then show what you are asking for. Of course this could be expanded out later, but have to start small.
Posted February 4, 2014 +1. Be cool if the king could bless like 3 flags and they give bonus' of soemthing if carried into PvP... i dunno.

Of course this could be expanded out later, but have to start small. Could be even a new polearm type (something like a halberd or a spear with a flag tied near its head). Posted February 5, 2014 That can also be an idea yes.. Only makes you a bit of a easy target @ PvP.
Posted February 5, 2014 Holding a flag would always do that. At least you'd still have a valid weapon.
Posted February 6, 2014 Yes, true but on a horse u could escape bit faster i think. On foot side I bet u cant walk as fast as a horse with armor on..
