Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) It would be awesome to be able to put an account up for sale via ingame. You would set an auction / prize just as you do in forums and people could bid on it while ingame. Once an account is up for auction the mail and password reset to something only the wurm server knows. The one that wins the auction gets a package in his ingame spirit castle containing the passwords. This could help a lot the account trading by eliminating delays, transportation and scamming. Perhaps CodeClub could get a CoD fee proportional to the sales price the same way as items cost to CoD. Edited January 25, 2014 by Issle

Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) I'd rather see some sort of official auction software, but tweaked, for wurm use. I'm tired of Buyers/sellers working the players... it needs moderated imho. How many times have you gone to pickup/deliver and the person isn't online? How many times have a 'private bidder' that you have zero way of proving is legit outbid you? What the hell is snipe protection... even ebay doesn't have that crap. Why can't the person stalking the auction be the one to bid at the last second and win? He put the man hours into it, so be it. I'd like people to have a uniformed way of posting auctions, sales, etc and a REAL feedback system so we can see who to trust. I'd like to know that Robert01 with 2 posts isn't an alt of Tobythescammer who had his forum account banned. I have the means and honestly if wurm's playerbase would support it, I'd setup an auction website specifically for wurm trade. I just don't see the majority of wurms players using it to make paying for it worth my time. Plus, as long as wurm has it's trade forum topics, it'll confuse people having to visit 2 websites to do trade. Edited January 25, 2014 by Nomadikhan

Posted January 25, 2014 I'd rather see in game item auction houses first...and I also do not think you should be able to auction characters in game. Perhaps we could have a channel just for people who like to paste their sales in chat someday,
Posted January 25, 2014 -1Just be glad that CC actually allows you to sell them in the first place. Legally you're selling CC's property, and as such in most games you'll get a nice juicy ban on the traded character, and all else involved if possible.Rolf is just a nice enough guy to allow you to have some return for your efforts, just be glad at that. These trades are somewhat a fringe activity, and you really can't expect for Rolf to setup things nicely so you can make a profit on his work. Posted January 26, 2014 I'd personally like to see Code Club take a tougher stance on account sales rather than facilitating them. That way people would have to actually earn their own skills, rather than spending one paycheck to skip several years of hard work.
Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) -1Keep real life trading out of game. I too, think that code club should stop account sales. The game is a pay to win environment currently, and that's not a good thing. Sure, if you have a lot of money to put into the game, so that you can pvp with high skills, or have high end armor, horses, whatever, it's good for you, but for the game as a whole? It means less unique characters skilling. It means that people who don't want to invest a lot of real money into other people's efforts, have a short straw. With direct cash for account sales, the money doesn't go into the game, it doesn't benefit development. If you want to play a game to make real money, I hear there's this Diablo III that some company released to make a ton of money at the expense of making a good game.Edit: I have no idea why this all came out double spaced. ugh.
