Casting Nerf

Is anyone else struggling to cast? Or am I on a very very bad streak?

 

 

Have failed to improve 30s cast LT with my near 70 channeling fo since the update. We are talking 1000s of favor in cast, with dozens if not a hundred failed cast?

But there has been a casting change in the recent months. I haven't really looked into as I don't do priest things anymore.

yep my friends vyn with very high stats is getting casts like [14] & [23]

 

Hasn't had any [90]+ in like 50 casts... etc.

 

Something seems off when u have 80+channeling and 50+SD

I haven't noticed a problem with imping casts up, how-ever i have noticed an increaed level of " You fail to channel the xxx ", with my Vyn, who is 71.6 channeling and 31 SD.

took me abou 20 attempts to improve a 35 cast yesterday. never been like that before the latest patch. though i haven't shattered anything on my fails, which seems new too.

Those are scrub casts to me....

 

I usually only improve less than 20 casts the lower the better.

my vyn (80+ chan, 50+ SD) is having trouble lately for getting casts above 80. I enchanted horse shoes this week, in 7 casts i managed to get 4 70+ casts. But when i try to get 80+ nimb or coc on a weapon or bow, it takes me ages and tons and tons of recasts/dispels.

My first cast after the patch was a CoC 83 cast. After that I had to cast 10 times on a low ql item to get it to 60+... Seems pretty normal, this was on Epic 51 channeling (about 70 with curve) 26 SD.

 

Casting was easier 1,5-2 years ago, haven't seen any recent change though. Only thing that is supposedly chnaged is some shatter rates.

86 chan 55 sd. On average I get 3-4 90s a day, 80+ every 4-5 cast, and mostly 70-75 cast. Maybe 1-3 times a day a cast below 40.

Since the update, I have casted hundreds of times, and I've only managed 1 90, 2-3 80s and mostly 20-30s. I was thinking it was being on my new deed, so tried going back to old one and my cast are still complete crap.

No idea if something got ninja nerfed, something broke, or I'm on the worst bad luck streak a priest has ever seen. But I'm pretty pissed off at it atm.

Having spent almost the entire week spam casting i can say that my cast strengths post patch have been absolutely atrocious. Whether this is due to some change or simply a run of bad RNG i cannot say, though it is interesting to see i'm not the only one to have noticed this.

I can't complain too much as my priest is 51 channeling and 25 sd. But I see a lot of higher priests complaining about it in chat a lot. It does scare me a bit as priests are a lot of work and to have a change like this is a bit of a slap in the face.

People use to have 3-4 premed character before price increase, now it seem people have a main and a priest. Be sad to see people dropping back to one.

Its not that random and using the hardest to cast spells as your measure is the wrong way to go about it.

 

Cast a relatively easy spell and look at the power values of the results of that. Opulence is a good example for Vynora.

 

Easier spells have a shifted bell curve compared to the harder ones resulting in fewer poor casts and a better average cast power. Because the results will be in a narrower range with an easier spell its much simpler to tell if the overall cast system has been tinkered with.

 

If Rolf has been tweaking individual spells however you would have to do a like for like comparison.

 

I'm now a strong Vynora priest and though I don't bother to measure it I can see that recent casts have been lacking.

I've been tossing 90s with ease on a Mag priest (88 faith) with around 60 channeling and 40 soul stats and a Vyn priest (100 faith) with around 65 channeling and 25 soul stats. Our best caster (90+ channeling and very high soul stats) seems to have issues casting though. Very weird.

Funny you say that actually, I mentioned last night it almost seemed SD wasn't working properly in alliance. Are mag priest with 50-some channeling and 25 or lower SD is casting pretty good, when my 86 channeling 55 SD priest can't cast a 90 enchant to save his life (actually, he can't even cast a 65+)

I have not yet shattered anything above 50 ql so that's good. All in all I'd say things are normal compared to before except instead of failing to channel, we get more shatters.

To those who are having a poor time at casting, all I have to say is that always happened before. You can get in a slump, and the only way out of it is to keep casting. My new strategy is to just cast on the same item over and over and eventually I will hit a 70+. I have also imp'd a 70+ to a 90+ on more than one occasion. The trick is perseverance.

Make sure you have a high ql statuette, way, way less shatters.

 

I'm trying to imp cast now, I was usually able to straight out cast 80+, but imping isn't even working atm.  damn this is a very bad week

Yeah, I have to say now - this isn't just a bad luck streak.  I can feel something is off with this. :/

 

Can we get any clarification if something has been changed, or something has been broken? I've sat here and wasted a ton of favor, and I can tell you, this isn't normal. >_<

Tbh the day after this was posted it seems really bad for me, but last night it was back to normal, for me at least.

Nobody ever thought about the fact that (MAYBE, WHO KNOWS IF TRUE) the month in wurm could influence the casting? Its not the first time we have a topic like this.. wait it out 1-2 weeks and see what happens, after that we can call it a bug, unless anyone has proof of confirmation that time/months in wurm does not affect casting.
