The launcher doesn't launch. Maximum sadness.

Recommended Posts

I'm not very tech savvy but I do want to play Wurm. Can someone help me decode this nonsense into a workable solution?

So it comes up with "Unable to launch application" and on clicking the details button I get two tabs of the matrix. I'll paste them in below.

I recently just updated java when I was told that would fix the invisible water issue; but now I can't play at all.

Same issue. Started today with the updates to both wurm and java. I installed java 64 on a windows 8.1 pro machine and tried both the short cut trick as suggested in another forum post and the old fashioned running it from a hyperlink.

Well I've tried everything I can think of. I've re-installed the game and java several times now. I'm stumped and a little vexed. Time is of the essence when playing on Epic and this issue could well lead to a settlement or out lying building being raided when it could of been defended.

You can get past it by reducing youre security setting in java.

If you want to do this it is up to you.

Could jump on irc or post in epic asking for a freeze on raiding until this is solved. Obviosly a problem for more then one person.

Wurming again....

can't roll back sadly, because it already crashed every few seconds before the java update today.

All worked so fine yesterday. Why... oh Why...!

Did the same: Uninstalled Java completely using "Control Panel"->"Programs & Software", downloaded Java 7.45 (x64) from a website, reinstalled Java -> Wurm works

Just ingore the message your Java would be out of date :)

If Java 7.45 wasn't too insecure yesterday it won't be today!

P.S.: thx Keeko ... and your cat DEFINITELY is the cutest! :)

Tried 7.45 Java and wurm still won't launch, even with reduced security. Anyone got any other fixes?

Hmm, did you check whether no Java is left?? I saw that I also had an old Java 7.25 (64bit) hanging around together with my Java 7.51 (32bit). Removed both before I reinstalled 7.45 (64bit).
