What's your political standpoint?

When I was young I was bigger than most of the students in school so I was able to bully them a lot and I enjoyed it. Then as years passed, I didnt seem to grow, so when puberty came most of the students in the school grew taller than me. I was not able to troll/bully them anymore and together with the fact that I didn't progress in the education ladder I turned into online gaming where I could once again bully people.

Seems you have a ways to go to bully people in Wurm, I doubt people are running in fear when you walk into local solo.

Great survey! Although I find the terminus "culture" difficult and discussible! It's a functional construction, which creates a pseudo - reality of "the other " or "the different" and is often abused to create a pseudo - identity and unity. Featureless as the terminus "the XXX people" in a national context, empty like the terminus "race" (which is at least in human context a construction as well). Mostly used by people, who have the definatory power and abused to underline existing hegemony.

Eg.: German Christian Democratic Party (CDU, Friedrich Merz)) used the terminus "Leitkultur" ("guidance culture"), implying, there were a legitimated culture to orientate at. So called integration programs for a number of (unfortunatly and involuntary) "other" people (eg. migrants) orientate at this unquestioned pseudo - consensus. So in my point of view the use of "culture" can be dangerous in constructing functional realities.

For anybody interested in the "constitutive other"(Edward Said et. al.), here some basic informations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Othering

But however: nice survey! (Maybe question design should have the option: no opinion to XX, as I thorougly met people in my previous life, who would have felt "at home" there. The sad truth is: there were far too many in my point of view. Neglecting this is in a research design can mislead and distort results)

Not expected any other results (hope I won't get arrested now) ;) :

Worth a chuckle or three.

What in the heck is wrong with this forum these days anyway.  Can't even cut and paste text into it.

Economic left/right = 1.0

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian = -3.85

Economic left/right is reasonably close, but I should be a little more to the right

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian is strongly off.  I should be at least a couple points deeper into Libertarian side of things.

A lot of the social questions were absurd and several of the economic questions were shallow.

It's almost as if this test were written by people with no understanding of fiscal conservatives or libertarians.

I managed to score Socialism on the upper end near Authoritarianism, and then took it all to the extreme opposite of my point of view and managed  a complete Commie, with it being a full -10 Left, and halfway down for Libertarianism. I'm trying to acquire the right combination for anarchist, however I visualize a path of questions that would make that possible.

What I highlighted in bold is what makes you -5 :P

In essence, you believe in a public health system, equal & fair education, a state "benefits" system (the name is what it's known as in the UK,) a regulated banking/business sector and fair job opportunities. Those policies are definitely not right-wing and, if you look at a lot of the right wing governments in the world today (such as the Bush administration or the current Conservative party in the UK) with an open mind then you'll probably find that you disagree with them on a lot of things.

The -5 makes you a social democrat, synonymous with the objectives of Labour and to an extent Green party movements around the world, parties that tend to reflect the opinions and views of the working class and look for a fairer society. It's nothing to be embarrassed about and is a pretty common view. And it definitely isn't communist for that matter :3

Except I don't live in the US or the UK. I live in Australia, where _no_ party supports my views. I get to chose between right wing extremists or hippies. There used to be a bit of a centre but they now don't stand for anything - just react to whatever polls are going. But that isn't my point.

My point is that those questions meant my views went largely undetected as they aren't mentioned. In the survey I could chose between equal wealth redistribution or basically setting fire to poor people for fun. I think with the options in the polls, most people who are actually in the centre will appear left.

I don't vote for parties anymore.

Every election cycle, I pick an issue that I agree with - and vote for the party that agrees with/talks about it the most.

The issue I currently find to be the most important: Laws regarding the restriction of Solar Panels and their connectivity to the electrical grids in British Columbia.

The only party that even brought it up was the Green Party. So, I voted Green Party. I know my vote was wasted - but, I care more about the issue getting done. If the green party gets enough traction off of this one issue, other more viable parties like the NDP or Liberals will pick it up and run with it.

I also make damned sure to avoid every 24 hour news channel possible. That s__t will rot your brain.
