[2009-03-12] New test client 2.5.5.1257

Recommended Posts

There's a new test client, URL is (as always) http://www.wurmonline.com/client/testclient/wurmclienttest.jnlp

If you find bugs, please report them in the bugs & problems forum rather than posting here.

* As usual, more mount fixes.

* Bugfix: Water shader crashed with certain drivers.

* Update non-model tree sizes. Maple in particular way really small when seen from afar.

* Non-pretty trees should now be faster than pretty trees.

* Options GUI has been regrouped and renamed to be more user friendly.

* Client now checks for FBO support. Doesn't actually use it much, but let us know if it crashes.

As there hasn't been a new main client yet, the changes from the previous test clients are still valid. Previous release: http://wurmonline.com/forum/index.php?topic=15342.0

Does this connect to the main server or the test server?

Test client always goes to test server. The exceptions are when something needs testing on the main server.

When will Maximized be Maximized again and not fullscreen? We do not need two fullscreen.

They serve two quite different uses. Please keep in mind that just because you don't need an option personally, it doesn't mean nobody needs it.

Yes! So why do you take a mode that people use and make it fit others and not make a new mode for them?

Because the old mode can be obtained by clicking the maximize button, the new one requires support in the client. We covered this before.

The jumping between window sizes (maximized vs the almost maximized one) makes it forget window settings though, have to reposition windows almost every time the client is started.

Just maximize it before the windows load.

These "Mount fixes" are literally mounts like horses and donkie racing or mounts as in something to do with the code and frame of the console, etc... In other words, are we planning to implement mounts?

The mounts in question are ridable horses and other animals.

Please don't release mounts until a proper sitting animation is created.

Nah do it now after initial testing to really help work the bugs out of the implementation. The animation can be developed in parallel.

Resets anyway occasionally.
