Posted August 20, 2013 Do you already have a client logged in? I get that issue when trying to update, but already playing. Log out and close all clients and try again.
Posted August 20, 2013 I'm getting this too :-/ Windows 8 & latest 64 bit Java, it was fine yesterday. Closing the client and re-opening does not fix the problem.

Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) Same error here too, closing client does not fix. EDIT - Spamming close/open client and it eventually worked, not sure if was just a coincidence however. Edited August 20, 2013 by Coastis
Posted August 20, 2013 I tried downloading stable client from the website and that fixed it and now the link on my desktop works again. Stable client: http://www.wurmonline.com/client/wurmclient.jnlp
Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) I tried downloading stable client from the website and that fixed it and now the link on my desktop works again. Stable client: http://www.wurmonline.com/client/wurmclient.jnlp Doesn't work for me. Update server unreachable. Edit: works now, may need multiple attempts to connect? Posted August 21, 2013 This keeps happening off and on. Is there some kind of network issue going on?
Posted August 21, 2013 This comes and goes now and then, I can see this repeatedly when trying to log in, retry pack update, restart launcher. Then when I try again in 1-2 minutes, it's working again.
Posted August 21, 2013 Confirmed - same here! Everything was OK until 2 hours ago; now the pack update is stalled.
Posted August 22, 2013 (edited) Same here, not sure when the tech guys go to bed but hope this is fixed soon. When it does let me past the download part it refuses the connection totally while logging onto the server. Any ideas? Posted August 22, 2013 I tried downloading stable client from the website and that fixed it and now the link on my desktop works again. Stable client: http://www.wurmonline.com/client/wurmclient.jnlp This also worked for me, you should try that! Thanks Doc!
Posted August 22, 2013 It's not that there is anything new with the download, it's just that the issue is intermittent. It seems to clear up after a few minutes.
Posted August 22, 2013 Got the same (again, last time deleting graphics.jar and redownloading it fixed that).
Posted August 22, 2013 Well, it seems none of that really fixes it. It just happens randomly now and then; if you wait a few minutes it will be OK again. I usually wait 2 minutes and try again - and it usually works.
Posted August 22, 2013 Happening again and has been going on for nearly 24 hours intermittently.
Posted August 22, 2013 Getting pretty bad lag on Pristine now too.
Posted August 22, 2013 No seriously. I just got stuck in a fence while riding a horse, /stuck does nothing, so I logout for /lotime and now can't get back in. Production Release 1.
Posted August 23, 2013 I'm running Linux and I also run into problems with the update server unreachable bug. To get around it I switch my java back to 1.6 run the client, then back to 1.7 and it works again. No idea why but it does .
