Update Server Unreachable

Im getting this when trying to log in. Is there a problem with the update server?

Do you already have a client logged in? I get that issue when trying to update, but already playing. Log out and close all clients and try again.

I'm getting this too :-/ Windows 8 & latest 64 bit Java, it was fine yesterday. Closing the client and re-opening does not fix the problem.

Same error here too, closing client does not fix.

 

EDIT - Spamming close/open client and it eventually worked, not sure if was just a coincidence however.

I tried downloading stable client from the website and that fixed it and now the link on my desktop works again.

uhm....i have the same problem and spamming client doesnt seem to work either...it also doesnt matter if stable or unstable O.o

This comes and goes now and then, I can see this repeatedly when trying to log in, retry pack update, restart launcher. Then when I try again in 1-2 minutes, it's working again.

Confirmed - same here! Everything was OK until 2 hours ago; now the pack update is stalled.

Same here, not sure when the tech guys go to bed but hope this is fixed soon.

 

When it does let me past the download part it refuses the connection totally while logging onto the server. Any ideas?

It's not that there is anything new with the download, it's just that the issue is intermittent. It seems to clear up after a few minutes.

Well, it seems none of that really fixes it. It just happens randomly now and then; if you wait a few minutes it will be OK again. I usually wait 2 minutes and try again - and it usually works.

I'm running Linux and I also run into problems with the update server unreachable bug. To get around it I switch my java back to 1.6 run the client, then back to 1.7 and it works again. No idea why but it does .
