Undertaker - Gathering Corpses On Deed

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow Wurmians!

Yesterday after another boring butchering/burying session i thought of this little feature:

When spirit templars kill a mob, they take the corpse to a coffin on deed.

This would really help to prevent those ugly deeds cluttered with corpses!

A good example might be my new deed, it is on top of a mountain where i can't even reach all of the corpses because they are on the middle of high-sloped rock.

Of course one could say that this would make it even easier to grind butchering and skills that rely on mob-drops, but i don't think that this change would have a big impact there.

Things to be discussed:

  • Good idea in general?
  • Should the templar's move those corpses asap or on some kind of schedules?
  • Is a deed-setting needed to activate/deactivate the feature?
  • Which coffin will the templars use? Will you manually set one as target or perhaps it's the one closest to the token?
  • (Someone in GL-Freedom mentioned the possibility of hiring a dedicated "Undertaker" for the deed, what about that?)

What do you guys think about that? B)

PS: Whole thing is only for NPC-Corpses of course.

PPS: No pictures cause I'm at work right now

templars already make your life easier, now you want them to even bury??

sure if the templars will cost 2s instead of 1s ;)

Spirit gravedigger would be better

50c a month sounds reasonable and they'd look cool I guess.

coffin doesn't fit much corpses.. I have better chance storing corpses on cart...

Not bury, just gathering the corpses in a coffin ;)

I would pay those guys without a 2nd thought...

The thing about a special "gravedigger" is: another model to be created, animations etc... if you just use those templars for now(you can lock the 50c fee to the setting in the deed-paper?) i guess it would be fine

Do you think it would be possible to somehow set an area as the deeds "graveyard"?

Maybe similar to the deed-creating, just as a sub-area you set after the deed is done.

everything is possible, the only question is how complicated (which only the devs can answer), how related it is to the wurm's goal as a game (only rolf can answer), and if such time allocated minus interest on it is smaller than its usefulness. :D

Can see such as a hirable NPC, not to mention catacombs or mausoleums for corpse storage.

I generally dont like the idea of the NPCs doing more stuff.   This is not an exception.

Tell your templars to stop killing mobs. They're there to protect you, not as your personal maid to clean up your deed or to gather corpses for you when you're logged off.

Templar kills shouldn't give any corpses at all. No mess, no meat farms.

Why shouldn't they be there for cleaning up the corpses they produce?

You pay them, they do their job.

You pay them more, they do more!

It's just a matter of game design what they actually can do...

If i turn off the kill-setting, i could also just remove them i guess.

But at least I would be getting overrun by mobs... i get alarms almost ever 5 minutes on a pretty small deed...

No fun doing anything if that happens all the time -.-

I'd be totally fine with templar kills not giving any corpses as well, I can already kill most of the mobs with ease, excluding the higher-armor ones.

You could probably do that without hurting the lore/setting (they kill it, they take the loot, they bury it)
