So, my deed gets raided while in asleep, i log on and have no tools to rebuild, i have to start completely from scratch

or perhaps i logg on half way through, great, i van fight, oh no, im naked, i have no weapons or armour

The hour logoff timer exists on elevation for this reason, we don't need everything lying on the ground when we log off.
