Client Crashed And Now Unable To Launch Application.

Recommended Posts

Hey all.

I was not long roaming around in Wurm when I decided to go AFK for a few minutes and check out the forums. Not long after I got a client crash with a red box, but didn't copy and paste what was in there as it's happened before.

Now everytime I try to run Wurm I get an error window "Unable to Launch the Application."

Upon clicking the details it sais:

Error: Address family not supported by protocol family: connect.

In the Exception box it shows:

java.net.SocketException: Address family not supported by protocol family: connect

I'm assuming this is to do with Java again and I've tried to re-install it and it hasn't helped.

I've also re-downloaded the client, tried the test client but neither are working.

Any ideas on what I need to do?

Everytime I got this all I had to do was delete the "wurmclient.jnlp" and download it again but I havent had to do that for awhile now. So its hard for me to really say whats causing it for you.

Ok i've managed to log back on once again. I am going to safely assume that this is down to Java 7 update 21. I'm now running Wurm in Java 6 update 31 as I decided to completely uninstall Java 7 entirely.

I think this is something that needs to be looked into though.
