Small status update, I got my (engineering) thesis printed and framed today, so DeedPlanner and Wurm development will return back to normal soon... Trust me, I'm (almost) an engineer! :)

If all goes well, I should have large update ready before the end of February.

Congrats Warlander!!  :D

Thanks for this amazing tool!

A couple random bugs I have spotted and would like to report:

- The "crate rack" and "rack for empty bsb" objects seems to be missing

- Can't place high iron fence on arch wall sections (they should not replace the wall)

- I get a Java error when adding a freedom wagon object (java.io.FileNotFoundException: Data\Objects (Access is denied))

I get the error as well with freedom wagon placement.  Ignoring the error seems fine, as the object does get placed and deedplanner continues to function fine.

Is there any chance to put separate label for each level? Couse if I name for example room on the first floor (BLACKSMITH), then all other levels got the same label.

Or maybe I'am doing something wrong?

Thanks

Sounds like a good idea, I will take a look at it. :)

2.9 will bring major interface changes, small teaser below (still subject to change):

OGfSoga.png

It's possible to put the toolkit on a left side of a screen if someone is used to that. :)

This error usually happens when DeedPlanner is unable to load its needed data, did you moved the executable somewhere out of the folder or run program in location where it can't access files?

~/Downloads/DeedPlanner 2.8.10

Within that folder are 2 folders, 'Data' and 'lib', and the DeedPlanner.jar

Hi

Is there any way of joining some maps (multivillage map) without doint it manually? I suppose I can change the map height and width to accomodate the final size and modify the x and y positions of the extra maps, but it should be great to have some way of avoiding the hand work (and probably messes)

This little tool was made for tasks like that :) :

It still has some drawbacks, and I cannot really support it at the moment, but it should do what you need.

I made a 3 tile wide flat slate bridge in the planner and it isnt all slate?

https://prnt.sc/ih04rs

I assume this isn't intended? Perhaps i'm planning incorrectly?

I can open exported maps, but I can't open DP saved maps.

If i delete the exporter="DeedPlanner 2.8.10" on the map file, I can open it again

I got similar weirdness with pottery brick bridges, so probably not you. :)

Texture is not overwritten correctly, bug in a program. Will be fixed in next update, existing bridges should be automatically updated.

Apparently, DeedPlanner's file structure was changed since the last version of DPMapAssist was released. I will look into this when I can. Thanks for the heads-up.

If this helps, DeedPlanner maps DOM model is always backward compatible and it will remain this way unless I will need to make a radical changes.

There are few failures in it I might change sooner or later, but they doesn't slow down the development yet so they will stay (for example, object positions being stored as constants instead of coordinates)

Is there a way to rotate the staircases when placing them in the planner?

Yes, the same way as you can rotate floors, by changing floor orientation.

Status update - 2.9 is still WIP, I want to focus on more interface improvements and graphical changes that will make it much easier to add some often requested features (like making screenshot of the entire map in desired scale). Edit mode for isometric view will likely appear later due to engine lacking several important features that would make isometric editing "feel right" (mostly raytracing - thing that allows you to select any 3d object/creature in Wurm world, DeedPlanner currently uses much simpler technique that only really works good for 2d), but view mode for it is already done and will appear in 2.9 as experimental feature.

When it comes to analytics, user count is very stable since 2 months at these numbers:

400 users per month

160 users per week

55 users per day

One statistic surprised me more than others - I always thought DeedPlanner is used occasionally mostly when someone needs to plan a new deed (that's my personal use case). It turns out that over half of the users use it regularly (at least once per two weeks).

I decided to publish donation stats for transparency and added extra section in OP about them.

If you made a donation and would like to see yourself listened here (by default only "donations per year" gets updated), please send me a private message. This applies to both old and new donations as long as I can verify them (up to exactly 3 years in a past).

Donations per year (since March 2015):

2018 - 0

2017 - 71€

2016 - 30€

2015 - 25€

Thank you for all the hard work Warlander. DeedPlanner is such an amazing and fun tool! That change log is pretty mind blowing as well! Countless hours of improving this tool and making our Wurmian lives better! <3
