Paper Doll

Recommended Posts

We have been working on a paper doll and the graphics for it are starting to take form.

This is how it will look, all graphics are not done yet, like the wounds.

paperdoll_character_default.jpg

Mouse hovering over a icon will display a tool tip with info about what should goes in to it or info about the item in the slot if there are any.

Top: Weight (displays total weight), Cape (not in the game yet), Backpack, Helmet, Face, Neck.

Left: Pauldron(not in the game yet), Torso, Sleeve, Tabard, Hand, Equip Hand, Ring.

Right: Pauldron(not in the game yet), Empty*, Sleeve, Shield, Hand, Equip Hand, Ring.

Bottom: Activate body, Foot, Tool Belt, Legs, Quiver, Foot, Activate Hands.

The wounds will be displayed in the middle character window on a unisex 2d image, you will be able to get a drop down too see all wounds on a certain body part and heal them.

*(there are one spare empty slot, that shall be removed :) )

This is kinda cool, will this keep the body tree in inventory window though?

It's not possible to have the image be ourselves like the one in the main menu? Even if just a static 2D one? Other than that, I look forward to seeing how the wurm interface develops over the coming months, does this mean work is going in to the rclick menu's side of things too for a new system (or will be soonTM)? :)

Don't forget some kind of warning (toggable) when people try to hold shields instead of equipping em, course there may be times when people actually do want to hold a shield.

EDIT: HA! I had missed the shield box... also the mask box? Mmmhmmm this seems promising. Ive been wanting masks!

it's nice, but why implement it?

Imo the current way of healing etc works fine.

Good work on it though

Nice, but I hope somehow an easy way to heal or open this character page with 640x480 screen resolution since I mostly play at that size (so I can run many accounts at once).

I think the plan is to overhaul the whole crafting GUI. SoonTM

Whaaaaa, did you just sneak peak into my sketch? :D Had something similar planned for the interface: 20130411_143933.jpg

Looks like a great addition to the game though :)

How does this compare size wise when displayed on 800x600 window (or smaller)? Those equip slots look a lot bigger then 16x16 pixel squares. What are those, 32x32 or even 64x64?

How is transparency going to be handled with those detailed backgrounds?

Anyway we could get a low graphic option: Toon would be a simple stick figure, slots are empty boxes of size 16x16 pixels and we drag n drop the game's 16x16 icons?

I play Wurm to admire the surrounding environment, not look at artistically draw UI's. I'd rather see simple minimalist version.

*This is kinda cool, will this keep the body tree in inventory window though?

Optional. (check box in the settings)

In the wounded window, no The existing character window will still be there.

*Nice, but I hope somehow an easy way to heal or open this character page with 640x480 screen

Sorry, but the smallest resolution considered when designing new gui elements will be 1024 * 768, but you still can move the window around.

Yes

*Coif is face, not head. So already used!

No! its head.

and no, we don't have capes yet.

So we will be able to keep using the current interface? if so, how you guys going to deal with a classic option when it comes to new interface, ie the crafting interface.
