Silk From Spiders

Recommended Posts

Butchering spiders should give silk, which could be used in crafting items just like cotton has multi uses. As of now the only thing you get from the many spider kills is meat.

silk comes from a silk worm dont it? we could have trees have a chance of gaining a silkworm infection, causing it to yeild less but have silk instead

Need to dominate and milk them. They don't have a coil of spider silk in them. It is fluids secreted from their rear end and shaped by small appendages there to weave the silk.

Hmm, so get webbing from spiders? lol

I think silk worms would work a little better ;D

(had to stop and think how to spell 'worm'...)

Well, why not? :P

If it rubs the realism people the wrong way, perhaps they could leave webs around where they roam instead? Like, on tree tiles it'd cover parts of it in webs occasionally.

These webs would be harvestable with a Spindle, but would decay fairly quickly (one or two days)

In the old days great warriors wore spider silk armor. The web from a spider is incredibly strong.

I want historical proof or it didn't happen.
