Spear And Shield

Recommended Posts

I don't understand why we can't have 1hander spears that allow you to use shield.. I mean no one even uses spear they obviously need a bit of buff, so why not make them 1handed? Allow shields and make it so spear does not parry. Maybe decrease the bonus against cav a slight bit but still better than other weapons.

Cmon guys show some support so Rolf allows shield and spear.

Wouldnt mind being a Spartan. Might give a viable way for people to fight on foot too.

Spartans werent the only ones that used shield and spear, its actually quite popular throughout history :) personally I'd want it because vikings did it

yeah mgiht be a few peeps that use spear, but realistically spear sucks pretty bad in actual pvp servers, you are better off using any other 2hander

as long as with a shield on a spear only has like a 25% dmg bonus against mounts/mounted opponents instead of 250% or what ever it is now

Why not; normal spear and staff can be used with a shield, little or no bonuses that polearms have, then leave long spears and halberds as the 2h spears with whatever bonuses they have now?

I think spear should still have a small bonus against cav but have no parry..

Very good idea.

Here is a video that shows the different styles fairly well.

Definate +1, its come up quite a few times, just make it so the steel spears are 1handers with a lower bonus against horses and the long spears stay as 2 handers with more of a bonus against cavalry

They should also add claymores just for jock

Well we do already have 2 handed sword which is what a claymore is lol

On the OP thought I'd say why not, as long as there is a trade of to it :D

Big + to this.

Currently there is too much archery and horses in pvp. Shield + spear would give unmouted players the option effectively counter mounted enemies without sacrificing the ability to block arrows.
