Using Keys As Writs

Recommended Posts

Hi it would be great to manage who can go into a fenced area instead of shuffling with keys. It would help with personal areas and villaages both. Anyone agree?

Standard practice is to use a 1x1 house as a gate to a fenced area, thus allowing you writ level management of who has access.

true but if it's a small area for say a farm, it would make life much easier. Especially for new players and villages.

What Nyack said about the gate house still applies on even such a construct.

And the gate house makes it a legal GM protected enclosure, the keyed gate does not as they are not owned by anyone. If fences do end up getting coded with ownership on fence sections, then it should be to whichever writ is connected.

So replacing keys with writ might be a good idea thus making gated fences also legal enclosures. But the really need to make people pay for enclosed tiles since that creates land ownership, before they start implementing policy as mechanics.

Use the house with archways on the inside, or use it as a hut for garden/ranching tools and grain/grass to feed the livestock.
