Wiki 500S

Surely this hasn't gone un-noticed by the staff?

500 server error at least once per day. Is this hosted on some free VM somewhere with no guaranteed uptime?

Please place the wiki on a more stable server.

I've personally not had any problems recently ( last few months at least ) getting the wiki to load whenever i have needed to use it, so i can honestly say i am not seeing your problem.

Also, i would hardly call the uptime poor for the wiki.

Yeah I've noticed this only a couple times in last week, and almost never before that. (I don't use wiki as much as I used to ofc, but still.)

It's down right now. For when it is down though here is a tip:

You can search google for site:wurmpedia.com and then your term and view the cached version, it wont let you view the latest edits, but it should get you what you need for the most part.

Might also ask to have a message posted to the announcement threads if it is going to be a longer term issue. It hurts to have it down, but not as much as having new players not knowing where to look for answers in place of the wiki lol

If you don't know how to play wurm without wiki you're doing it wrong.

• a wiki editor making changes (me)
  
• creating something you've never made before (me)
  
• double checking the seasons
  
• interested in a certain player as they have a userpage

Just a quick update. I sent Rolf an email, I'm having a problem with the host, can't get into details in public so just know we're working on it. Sorry for the inconvenience, I know how valuable the Wiki is to the game.

Just saw this post a bit ago, and took a look. One of the caches was getting some overhead so I optimized that and a few others that were growing. Feel free to send me a forum PM if it's down for any length of time or we're getting odd errors. I have email notify with my forum PM's so that's one of the fastest ways to contact me. I check the forums a couple times a day but it could be many hours, like now, before I have time to sit and read a bit.

Thanks everyone for doing such a great job. Like I've said to some of you, I just make the accounts and leave the editing to you smart guys. That's one of the things that has kept me, the Wurm community and what you have done with this forum is really great.

Even though Wurmpedia is down sometimes lately, that doesn't mean you can't browse it. Just google wurmpedia + item you want to wurmpedia, click the cached version > text based version, and at least you can still seematerials/recipes etc.
